for me it's pickle park
>>12859209>no trains visible on either coaster>not even any go-karts visible3/10 screenshot, apply yourself
what happened with the park rating? we're at 0 and have a bunch of lost guests but I can't find them.
fixed
>>12859209>Headless Server Guide (PLEASE fix it)is this shit ever actually going to get fixed?
>>12859570I don't actually know if anyone will ever fix it, I just post the OP
I'm eating a pickle right now btw
>>12859570The anon who made the original guide is missing
park turned out nice this week! great to see a map get completely filled again
Weekend Map Downloadhttps://files.catbox.moe/r6m338.park
>>12859968genuinely love how the map turned out, I think it was the right call to do a second weekend of it even if I did more the first weekend.
for me, pickle park
>>12860105The rollercoasters turned out great, and I like the themed areas.
how do I get good at designing scenarios?
>>12863408Depends what part of the scenario, for the landscape:>Download world machine (the free version has an image size limit but its still larger than the biggest rct map)>Import a height map or just use a bunch of noise generators>Use erosion and whatever other functions you want till it looks cool (terrace is good)>Output it from world machine and import it into rct>Flatten a bunch of the terrain to make it more playable (you should really do this in the generation stage)>Paint different terrains with a big brush and spam props everywhere>DoneIf you mean having cool gameplay and a specific challenge for a scenario, i dunno i'm bad at that bit. Think of a gimmick and try to force it
>>12863686Yeah the terrain was my thought. I mostly use random pngs as heightmaps for fun, but wanted to do something actually decent. Thanks for the advice.
>>12863689An important note is to find balance with the flat areas. You want enough room to build paths, rides, stations, and a bit of track. But you don't want the flat areas to be too large, or else there are no obstacles. When adding mountains and valleys, it's important that you can see the nearby land. If an area is covered by mountain from some views, make sure you have at least 2 camera angles that you can see the shadowed land in. Does that make sense? Sometimes I will play scenarios with valleys you can only see inside by using cutaway view, and it's annoying, so you should avoid doing that.
>>12864021I made a map like this and it was annoying because the axonometric perspective is confusing and the cliffs block your view so i never finished it
>>12864202In theory, that would be an awesome fucking map to play on. In practice?>rotate map>rotate map>rotate map>rotate map>cutaway view>rotate map>cutaway view>rotate map>rotate map
>>12864202I would say either gradually lower the outer rings of cliff tops or half the height in total.
We haven't had desert scenarios in a while. Are they not popular?
>>12865576Guess there are simply way less desert maps than regular ones out there.
>>12865576A few threads ago we were talking about how it's harder to make desert maps look good.

I wish there was more flat rides, if you actually look at it, there's really not that many. Most of the modded and expansion flat rides are ugly. I saw someone working on custom stuff but the actual process of getting them working seems pretty complicated
>>12866206I have never counted how many custom Twist reskins I have, but I am sure the number is over 20.
>>12866212im currently sitting at 117 custom twist rides
>>12866954the real twists are the friends we made along the way
>>12866206always felt like this medieval torture device was conspicuously missing from the game
>>12867201there is a custom version of it, but it looks pretty bad. wish earl or buggy had done it, they made the most faithful custom rides imo
>>12867201Coincidentally this is the exact ride i was thinking of when i made the post
A scenario idea that's based off the Shibuya River. The only problem is it's almost entirely flat and making the buildings higher for a claustrophobic effect makes the viability worse
>>12867523The only custom zipper I have is a janky piece of shit. Some of the sprites are messed up and it needs more frames of animation.
>>12867201now that I think about it, RCT generally lacks a lot of carnival type stuff. Zippers, gravitrons, clowns, tilt-a-whirls....
>>12867679Sorta feels like a Fallout 1 map in a way, but in a way that I love.
Are we doing >>12851923 this weekend?
>>12869105Would be cool, that map looks fun.
>>12869105Yes, absolutely.
whoa this color palette is interesting.
Cotton Candy Caldera hosted. 72.31.18.168:11753
Am I tripping or is the "open" flag darker than usual?
>>12869665map maker chose a shitty custom color scheme
>>12869668Huh, I didn't even know that was a thing for UI elements.
>>12869674The palette applies to everything, peeps, ui, menus etc
>>12869665If you use the stoplights instead of the flags, it looks like all of the lights are off when a ride is open.
Putting windows on all this bullshit is taking forever
>>12869943Is this so you can build above buildings or are you limited to the narrow line? I'm thinking of Tokyo Dome City Attractions, and I think there were some other rooftop amusement parks like it.
>>12869960In this one you're limited to the narrow line (basically all the grey bits). My original plan was to rip off Technopolis which is a Parkitect map where you build on rooftops like your picture but i didn't do that (ironically because i thought placing all windows on the outside would be annoying and now i'm doing that anyway)
I'm out of town for a few more hours, how's the server looking so far?
damn wish i waited to update. now i cant join the server
What does the colourable terrain look like in the new update? Does it just tint the terrain or does it need to be reconstructed to use the colourable palette
Sick guests are now orange. When will the green erasure end?
>>12871093
I love what this palette does for the hobbit village. It's a very good autumn vibe.
>>12871565BOARDWALK
I like this map a lot, are we doing something Halloween focused next week?
>>12869674The water color option can actually alter the whole game's palette, not just what it uses for water.
>>12872930What would a halloween map look like? autumn palette? use that meatland stuff?
>>12873246Did we do Fightmare Hills last year? Something along those lines. It'd be cool to see an expanded version of that map or something similar.
>>12873248we have years ago, I can't find the save
Nani!?

>>12873668really enjoyed this map, solid design and fun to build around
Halloween pumpkin store WIP, the rct palette will probably mess it up
>>12873738Nice, I really like those crazy eyes.
>>12873738we can run a natural water palette next time and just color things manually.
>>12873668I knew this map was going to be a good one and I was right. It's got that mix of mountains and plains that I have been looking for.
another coaster incident in the news, I feel like I never hear about stuff like this and then we got two notable incidents in the past couple months.https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/other/incident-at-six-flags-over-georgia-under-investigation-riders-evacuated/ar-AA2e69E9
Took a shot at designing a non-joke scenario for the first time in over a decade. I think I could improve the invention list, but here it is if anyone wants to see. The scenario is called Snowasis because I'm not creative.https://files.catbox.moe/b2odr3.park
>>12874737Is it me or is shit like this getting more frequent? From what I've seen the restraints popped open on him. That's unacceptable and tragic.
>>12874772I was wondering the same thing. I'm wondering if parks are getting more lax with safety inspections or something?
>>12874779Who knows. I'm waiting for more info to come out on this case so I can direct my anger appropriately.Imagine if B&M is found to be at fault. Like holy fuck.
>>12874783Yeah, this type of thing is unacceptable no matter who's at fault, but I'm wondering what exactly happened.
UH OH
>>12875062how the fuck do you even manage that
>>12875062>t-bar restraintsCoaster College is going to have a field day with this. No matter who winds up being at fault, watch this cause coasters that are only fun with lap bars get stuck with shitty harnesses moving forward. The golden age of B&M is probably over.
>>12875062>the last picture taken of you before your death shows your huge ass crackGrim.
>>12875062Looks intense
>>12875167Phoenix without the massive air jumps on the small hills
What if some kind of creature lived inside the cotton candy stall
>>12867679impose a height restriction on rides and scenery as part of the park rules.
>>12875167Apparently it's been an issue with specifically B&M clamshell restraints that sometimes the ratcheting system likes to slip and pop up a tooth. Normally that's okay, but it's happening worringly commonly. I know when I worked at King's Island, Diamondback required 3 clicks to dispatch a train. Goliath probably needed less, since B&Ms will NOT dispatch unless all restraint sensors read safe. That one detail is why I think the ride crew isn't to blame for this. I think this was an EXTREMELY rare mechanical failure of the restraints. But again, more details need to come out, we barely know anything.
>>12875167now it's more like S&M
>>12875167Hypers should have used buzz bars instead
>>12873668Here is the map with the normal colormap by the way.
>>12876785some of the rides look very wrong with the normal colors
>>12876785Really makes you realize how much we adopted to that colormap. Everything I built looks like shit with those normal colors lol.
>>12875352>What if some kind of creature lived inside the cotton candy stallThat's called a "carny," dude.
>>12876885A couple of my coasters look fine, but the rest (and the majority of everything else on the map) falls into the category of "Why would you paint it that color?"
>>12877070What do you mean? You don't like the big purple terrain woodie?
