When I was a kid (a very stupid, sheltered and ignorant one), I had never played The Legend of Zelda or even heard of it. So in Donkey Kong Country 2, on the podium screen, I thought Link was Peter Pan. When I played Smash Bros Melee, I still thought he was Peter Pan even though I could see he was called Link. And when I heard you could unlock somebody called Ganondorf, I kept thinking it was going to be Gandalf, because it sounds similar. I also thought Marth was an alien from mars because I couldn't comprehend that he wasn't talking English so I thought it was meant to be an alien language and he must be from mars because his name is MARth.
