I fucking love isometric games. Something about them just feels great. Anyone have any recommendations for lesser known isometric games? Any genre is fine

any platform ?
*the first one i recommend is "equinox" on snes. had great moment with.
*if you like arcade / coin op, "lightbringer-dungeon magic" of course, very deep for an arcade game with lots of secrets. <3
*for traditional action/rpg try "landstalker" on genesis/MD

I've only ever seen the box art of this game, as a meme. This actually looks fucking sick

It was buggy, unstable and has very primitive programming (shitty AI)... but still, I enjoyed playing it every once in awhile. Never got very far with it, but I have some nostalgia for it. Pretty cool soundtrack, too.

Crystal castles felt years ahead of qbert despite being released only like 9 months apart. The trackball play control was so precise, unlike qbert that felt clumsy to play and didnt use the perspective as effectively.
Crystal castle there are tunnels and you can go behind buildings out of sight from the player, which was a first.

this was peak. the depth perspective and realistic proportioning but still hand drawn pixel art, not muddy digitization.

I love the Jon Ritman - Bernie Drummond isometric trilogy of Batman, Head Over Heels and Monster Max. The first 2 were released on Spectrum and other brit computers and Monster Max on the Game Boy.
The games look like fever dreams of absurd situations and characters coming together on a puzzle plarformer, everything is pure insanity, Batman has weird monsters roaming around the Bat-Cave, HOH has robotic remote control Prince Charles, and Monster Max has a duck powerup that allows you to... duck.
Batman and Head Over Heels had modern Windows remakes released by Retrospec 20 years ago that still look awesome but the originals are the spectrum games that aged the best and still play great.

I have played this (007: Everything or Nothing GBA) for a literal minute, seems like it's good bargaincore. Don't know why the dudes are depicted as small penises on the radar though, must be the 007 style.

I never know which way the d-pad will take me. This is particularly bad with more active action games. Isometric is best with sticks. Maybe I am just retarded though, entirely possible. I do prefer the art of isometric better than normal stuff though, it gives a much more 3D feel.
