They're two different games
are threads like these the future of artifical intelligence generated content
>>12873126Well what's he going to compare them to otherwise? Themselves?
Starship Titanic was pretty bad. Or maybe Doug Adams' humor was completely exhausted by that point.
>>12873123>starship thats not actually written by Doug Adams.i read the book and it was very horny. i riked it but it was not written by Adams san sama sempai.
>>12873436it was based on the book, which wasn't even written by him!
>>12873436His humor was already in a weird place. So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish was the man writing his own self-insert fan fiction and not being even remotely coy about it
>>12873123Neither.
If I had to choose, Starship Titanic is objectively worse in terms of storytelling and puzzles. And it's not funny (which one would expect naturally from something with the name like Douglas Adams on the box). While Titanic is plain great and can into replayability.
>>12873123>"I'm going to sink these bitches!"
I prefer Starship due to the atmosphere and graphics. I also remember triggering the self destruct bomb and having to occasionally go back and hit it to make it reset the time. No idea if it actually went off if you just ignored it.
>>12873123No, here's the actual great debate:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEkGGUVgFKIhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaRK4FmTpPg
>>12873785>>12873808like i said. he didn't write it. factcheck me
>>12874057It was supposedly written in tandem, and he would have absolutely been involved with the game and I would assume its writing because he was a turbo techfag by that point. ST was partially created as a pushback on then-modern adventure game design, he loved CLIs, hated GUIs and really wanted natural language processing to become a thing. I imagine there's a lot he wouldn't like about the so-called AI industry but I guarantee you he'd be fucking around with LLMs and agentic AI shit because that was exactly how he dreamed of interacting with PCs and technology to do shit. That said I can't really comment on the quality of the humor at this point. I sat down to read (most) of the books again a few years ago after not having read them since I was a teenager and my opinion of his stuff has changed a lot.
