Aside from the environments being a bit bare, especially the Disney Worlds, it still holds up.Recoil is annoying as hell though, at least they got rid of it in 2.

Yes you should. Play the games in release order, do not skip 358 and re:coded for the gay movies in the modern collections. Also make sure that you get familiar with the plot of Union X before playing 3.

I was at the upper end of that range, and I almost wrote it off as gay and stupid, but went ahead and tried it out since I loved FF and was still appreciative of Disney, plus I managed to find a used copy for cheap not long after release. Had I been like a year or two older than that, I would've probably never given it the time of day (case in point, my older brother, he also really liked FF6 and 7, but he wouldn't touch FF9 or this game with a ten foot pole).That said, the real cringe starts with the sequel, with the first game still being rather charming in a lot of ways. You just have to get used to seeing Donald and goofy being their silly Disney selves while Cloud or the OCs are brooding around. But again, it's not too bad just yet in this one.
