When I tried the game out a few years ago I found Batman's little dive kick was really good at moving you through the stage while also being an attack.
It's an interesting shmup/run-n-gun game. I really enjoyed it. I don't know if I like it more than the SNES game. That one I could only get to the Poison Ivy stage.

This stage is a great filterer especially because it's the only stage without a checkpoint, it gets better after that. The entire game is learn by dying, play the one way the devs intended it though but it's worth it if you're a fan of the cartoon (and who isn't)

The secret easy mode is to get the green weapon power up as it just murders bosses compared to the other two. I seriously can't even use it anymore it makes it way to easy and worst of all I beat the bosses too fast so I don't get to hear Jesper Kyd's stellar soundtrack work.
