Klonoa thread on /vr/?>
>>12880489Recently played the original PS1 Klonoa game not only as my first Klonoa but my first PS1 game (never had consoles growing up).Amazing. Looks stunning on a proper CRT TV, the levels are super fun, lore / cutscenes don't get in the way, the OST kicks ass, the game is actually fucking hard during the later levels. It became one of my favorite games of all time.Tried buying it, turns out copies go for around 500€ for the american version, oh well.
Hmmm Klonoa
"clone"-oa, lol.
>>12880913>the game is actually fucking hard during the later levelsAlmost had me until this part. It's a trivial game until you start doing 150 gems.
>Wahoo
>>12881093The sound he makes when you release it inside of him
First of all, what fucking kind of animal is he even supposed to be?
>>12881087I'm not sure what you mean by the 150 gems but I did find it pretty hard at the later levels. There were a couple where I spent at least 1 to 2h trying to pass the level without dying. Those were the ones that had the coolest graphics and music though, so it kept me going.
>>12881087> It's a trivial gameWhy do people keep saying this? Maybe I'm just not good at video games, but DTP is not an easy game past the early levels.
>>12880489More like Sovlnoa. More sovl with every additional playthrough.
>>12881159A cat with long ears. Some have argued that it's a mythical cabbit (cat and rabbit)
>>12881153uh, release what exactly...?
>>12881176I tried this, but the music was just so, monotonous.I should give it another go though, it's a predecessor to the GBA games and the only other game that featured Klonoa's original design. Everything else (including Beach Volleyball on the PS1) used his Klonoa 2 design, or a redesign.
>>12881725Because DtP really is an easy game if you just want to see everything it has to offer. Other than the awkward sliding physics, the controls are tight. The puzzles are a lot simpler than those in the handheld games. The game is so generous with health items and lives that game over is basically an impossibility, I did not find out it's called "vision over" in this game until years after I played it. Most hidden villagers can be found easily if you're not rushing through the game (there's really only 1 or 2 of these that require you to inspect your surroundings, one in an off-route door in 4-1 from the top of my head) and the extra vision spoonfeeds you lives in every other room. Really, I'm not sure what could be hard about this game if you just want to get through the levels.
Who did it better, Klonoa or Dead or Alive?
>>12881804Yoghurt
>>12882161Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball is surprisingly good, Klonoa beach volleyball is just sort of mediocre, it's cute though.
>>12882161I had no idea this existed!... Do the characters wear skimpy outfits like in DoA volleyball?
>>12880489the ps1 game has beautiful music but it is also a giant pain in the balls in the last few levels, in particular. you have to execute some bullshit that can be really tiresome to get right and then not die or be forced to do it all again. filthy little liars in this board who played the vastly easier remaster pretend it’s le easy kid’s game. no, klonoa is challenging.
