Is this worth getting into or is it a meme?
>>
Fucking find out yourself.
>>
>>12880560
It’s not a long game, just fucking play it.
>>
>>12880560
>getting into
You can beat it in like 90 minutes, just fucking play it
>>
>>12880560
It's good and has good music. There's not a single bad track. Amazon? Good. African mines? Good. Himalaya? Good. Transylvania? Better than good. The Moon? The best of the bestest.
>>
>>12880637
News came out recently that the composer, Hiroshige Tonomura, passed away last year.
>>
>>12880560
saferetro but play it if you want to pad your clear count
>>
>>12880560
>getting into
It's not a live service ranked competitive game, zoomzoom
>>
>>12880643
SAD!

The new Ducktales animation series had the mother of the nephews sing a lullaby in the tune of Ducktales' Moon theme
>>
>>12880656
Disney credited Jake Kaufman in the credits instead of Hiroshige Tonomura.
>>
>>12880663
Disney do be scummy. The way they treated Don Rosa, absolute top tier Scrooge McDuck artist, is horrible
>>
>Is this worth getting into or is it a meme?
What does this even mean anymore?
>>
>>12880702
It translates to
>I want to talk about this game

Buuuut because modern online discussion needs ragebaiting to get off the ground, OP needs to pretend to be an idiot for other posters to have reason to particiapte.

I started watching a three-hour Let's Play/review video for Pong, but stopped before the opening YouTube ad was finished. What am I in for? I should say though that I'm already a little winded and right now I'm thinking maybe it'd be better to just bail out for the moment and look for a popular streamer's reaction video to the video that I was thinking of watching, your thoughts?? I'll come back in a couple of days and have an AI summarize any replies you make to this post, thanks in advance
>>
>>12880805
Upvotted and subscribed to you this way hopefully in a couple days I too will know if Pong is worth getting into or if it's just a meme
>>
where’s my fucking choo choo train nigger?
>>
>>12880560
I played through it as a first timer in less than a couple hours. It's shorter than Mega Man 1 and 2
>>
>>12880805
Ngl id watch a 3 hour video about pong purely because the only way you could fill up the time is to go super in-depth on the game's history
>>
How was the remake? I know it was basically Alan Young's last time voicing the character before he died
>>
>>12880870
It's MOSTLY the same game but it makes you keep stopping for cutscenes which admittedly, they got back everyone from Ducktales who was still alive to voice their characters for it which is a nice touch. It plays mostly the same, its REALLY pretty, but goddamn Ford it make you mash that skip button after seeing a scene the first time. Also has a new level to teach you the game's mechanics, it's OK.

Funniest thing about the game is leading up to release thry got all these famous western devs like Cliffy B and all to give quotes on how it was this god-tier platformer that was a huge influence on their career, and then it gets to Tim Schafer and it just says as his quote
>please stop emailing me asking for a quote
>>
>>12880876
>Ford
I have no idea why autocorrect put that there. I'm not even sure what in my sentence it got thst context from
>>
>>12880876
>skipping cutscenes
>not wanting to hear the original cast as you play through the game each time
Faggot, I bet when you rewatch movies you just skip right to the credits too.

Which I found very insulting. Yes, the song is iconic, but the fact that it was limited to a single stage in a tie-in video game is what made it truly unique, and Disney instead whores it out for a cheap nostalgia trip (among many others in that failed reboot). Fuck, they don't even credit the right composer, as previously stated.

If you weren't there in the late 80s you'll never know

I beat DuckTales when I was 6 years old. I think you can handle it. I was fairly advanced for my age, though.
I prayed to Santa for SMB3, but he forsook me, so I was pretty disappointed with DuckTales, at first. There are some fun game mechanics with the cane, and the music is great.
>>
>>12880702
>What does this even mean anymore?
It's asking whether it's tendie-nostaglia-slop or if the game is good on it's own merits.
>>
>>12880870
It's a cookie-cutter version of it, it's fun to play for the novelty but the original is a better game. I guess it was cool that they did it even if it was just whatever.
>>
>>12880876
It has a brand new final level instead of recycling the Transylvania stage for the final boss, pretty great new song too.

>>12881073
He's the composer for Shantae, Mighty Switch Force, Shovel Knight, and Mina the Hollower you ass
>>
>>12880870
I wish it had a mode where it's literally the orginal game with the new graphics.
>>
>>12881845
Yeah, it's more of an "I appreciate it exists" thing even if I prefer the original

>>12881992
Isn't that basically what Extreme Mode is?
>>
>>12880560
I recommend playing the best version, the Xbox Arcade version on Xbox 360
>>
>>12880941
NTA but the amount of cutscenes and they way they're placed was legitimately distracting to me.
I'd think it'd've been a a lot better to keep the just to the hub world with maybe only a couple exceptions.
>>
>>12882584
It honestly wouldn't be distracting if the thing it was matched with wasn't NES gameplay which is very fast-paced
>>
>>12882554
>Isn't that basically what Extreme Mode is?
Yeah, but you still have the cutscenes and new stage objectives to get through.
>>
>>12882554
>Isn't that basically what Extreme Mode is?
Not really. It makes you use the old pogo button combo and you can't save, which were welcome changes imo. All of the other differences are still there.
>>
>>12882584
Hey they managed to get back Magica DeSpell's VA at 95 years old, they're not going to waste the opportunity.
>>
>>12882612
June Foray never stopped working until she died. She was a legend.
>>
>>12882614
Neither did Alan Young, the head of Capcom USA basically said they weren't sure what it was going to be like having a 94 year old come in to record lines but apparently the man just waltzed in and did it like champ.
>>
>>12882614
>>12882616
Granted neither of them were around much longer after doing their lines for the remake but some people are just built different. I remember in the early 00s Bush was speaking to one of the last surviving WW1 veterans who was like over 110, and asked him what the secret to his longevity was. His answer was
>When you feel like you're starting to die, don't
>>
>>12882616
>>12882623
If I remember right, Foray outlived Young by two years.
>>
I don't like this game. I find it too hard. I can only beat the castle stage. I can get further in GnG than I can in this. It's super frustrating. A lot of cheap tricks.
>>
>>12882656
I beat the game when I was 6
>>
>>12880560
It's way better than the remake.
>>
>>12883847
It is, but I would still recommend playing the remake too both for the novelty of it and to see what it did differently. Enough effort was put into the remake that I can't just dismiss it out of hand.
