the voice acting is better than most modern movies. hell, so is the writing.
>>12880721It has also long loading times every time you open the menu and you constantly have to switch weapons.
>>12880726>Playing the ps1 versionTard
>>12880721VAE VICTUS! VAE VICTUS! VAE VICTUS!Fuck's sake. As much as I love Simon Templeman, I end up playing the majority of the game while sound is muted.
*stock male scream*........................The Heart of Darkness
>>12881204Damn you anonThat action is unconscionable!

There's a VA compilation on youtube that has all the cutscenes, major narration moments, description glyphs, item descriptions, boss quotes, etc. and I've listed to it several times. Simple Templeman and Tony Jay (RIP). Just very pleasant to listen to.
>>12880729Should get N64 and Saturn port
Great voice acting, but holy cow is the gameplay dated. I don't mean in a "it's slow" kind of way, I mean having to deal with homing projectiles when you miss 99% of your diagonal attacks. Better to just hurl Flays at everything.
>>12881890eh i like itits like playing link to the past where enemies can take more than 1-2 hits
>>12881890Welcome to the wonderful world of action games on PC.
>>12880721>the voice acting is better than most modern moviesare we supposed to be stunned by this? like the floor of human acting should be permanently raised because of technology? If you pay shakespearean actors and give them a decent script they'll do work that's hard to outclass.
>>12882149jfc shut up you absolute faggot retard little bitch
>Implode>Of all the methods I employ, this is perhaps the cruelest. Causing my victim’s body to shrink on itself. Crushing bones and rupturing organs ‘til the pressure inside burst the sac of fleshy skin. Spraying its contents for all to see.
Playing on a CRT TV you can't see shit unless you zoom in and when you zoom in the frame rate tanks and also you can't see where you're going anymore
>>12880721We will never have another voice actor even half as talented as the legendary Tony Jay ever again.
Too bad the gameplay is fucking dogshit
>The wind carried screams from the west. I could not help but smile: someone else in this world was suffering more than I. So that's why I still come here.

>>12882185it's an annoying trend I see constantly in dumb ops. backhanding what they're trying to praise.
>>12880721>the voice acting is better than most modern movies. hell, so is the writing.Neither of those are high bars
>>12882451it’s presumption on your part that op means it as praise. it is an indichtment on poor modern film writing and acting. you aren’t guaranteed a quality performance by hiring le shakespearean thespian, it certainly doesn’t work for all genres
>>12881890Also the hit detection on some attacks is....I don't know how to describe it. Sometimes I swear I'm missing when there's no indication I am
blood omen has adequately executed gameplay that you have to work with to get through to the next story point. it comes from an era where we put up woth jank because the game itself is unique and the presentation was great. it’s not that you lie to yourself and say it’s okay, it’s that you put up with weird control and lackluster elements because the kino factor is high and the atmosphere. this was before games like ff7. it was an important step toward the kinomatic that became prevalent. i played it recently abd found it a but tedious in parts but i finished it and was happy to revisit it
This is the only series where story quality and gameplay quality are inverse curves as the series progresses. Defiance almost has what I'd call good gameplay.
>>12880721the actress who played Skyler White in breaking bad does a couple voices in that game and one of them she did in the sequels too.
