I was rewatching Mission Impossible and somehow I was 100% expecting the scene where he goes down in between the lasers, I could almost see it in my mind.
Turns out that's only in the game, in the movie the lasers are only in the vent above and they're not part of the scene, they're mentionning during the planning but then they're just disabled and re-enabled off-screen.

It got me thinking, what other things from the games could people mix up with the movies? An example of this would be taking down the AT-ST in Empires Strike Back vs in the games (Shadows of the Empire, Rogue Squadron etc). In the movie, it's a last resort, a crazy idea they come up with on the spot and was not planned. Also it only happens once and they find other methods to dipose of other AT-STs. But in the game, it's part of the mission, planned from the start to use on every single AT-ST with an infinite supply of cables.

Another thing is in Batman Returns, fighting the Organ Grinder's gang when they're on their train to rescue the kidnapped children. In both the NES and SNES games there are action scenes and it starts with a car chase scene; but in the movie it's mostly just done off-screen: the kids get kidnapped, you see a shadow of Batman, and it's done.
However it turns out that this was apparently in the script! I wonder if Konami knew or if they expanded and guessed correctly, I don't know if it's a car chase scene specifically in the script.

One of my first ESL experiences in a video game. When you go down the shaft, there's no prompt to access the computer. You can still swing around, but touching the ground with your feet is a game over. What you have to do is turn your head towards the computer and stay completely still for a few seconds.

The ESL experience is because both the mission briefing and the dialogue tell you to access the computer, but in very vague english terms. 6 year-old me couldn't have known that.

Actually I just checked the final script, and it's not in there, it matches with the movie. So I don't know why people say that, maybe it's from an earlier draft or a dropped idea.

My mistake: you have to first access the card reader, then the computer. Still, watching some videos of this game, many comments said they had the same problem when they were kids. The game tells you the correct height, but there is no prompt.
