This is insanely ahead of its time for 1989. Did people realize how big of a deal this was back then? It basically created the entire beat 'em up genre.
>>
Yeah it's not like Double Dragon existed or anything
>>
Have you double teamed Shreddar yet today?

Many times, just not with Jean Claude Van Damme sadly

Tmnt was probably the biggest franchise from 1987 to 1993 so yeah I'm sure it's not hidden. I just pretty much played TIT and the Tournament Fighters though because nobody I knew had a NES
>>
We all played the actual arcade game. They still have it in a lot of places.

Yeah I was assuming OP was talking about that and just used a misleading image...? I dunno.

OP, the arcade game was very impressive, yes. It was a treat to play. This and the similar Simpsons game came across to me at the time as being their own genre by themselves. Somehow I have never bothered to consciously link them to the likes of Final Fight until literally today. (I don't think about that genre a lot regardless.) Did the earlier one of them establish something important? I do not know, I just liked playing them.

The NES game was relatively uninteresting, but it was a solid port and I did enjoy playing it. I always found the first one more interesting though, the sequel is just the same thing over and over

NES demake Op posted came out in the final weeks of 1990. Most never even saw it in person until 1991.

You can tell wiki zoomers make a post because they interchange arcade, console, JP and NA release dates for the same title at will despite them being years apart at times. It is anachronistic as fuck.

they’re mentally lazy, and never face consequences for being lazy. if they had shame, they’d grow

>demake

The arcade version sucks. It looks like a parody, like the artists thought "this is dumb kid stuff lmao". Also enjoy your bombs. The NES version is better in every way.

You're probably the one anon who claims arcade Contra is better than NES too

Renegade and Double Dragon beat it to the punch. Final Fight also came out the next month completely obliterating this game. If it weren't for the license and presentation TMNT would've been forgotten the game SUCKS ANCHOVIES
