This is literally why the SNES was redesigned for North America. The NES was redesigned because of the video game crash (they wanted it to look more like a VCR than a game console), but the SNES was redesigned because Americans kept putting cans of soda on top of their NES or their TV and it would spill sometimes. The SNES had very smooth surfaces and the top-loading mechanism makes it more prone to dying if a spill happens, so they redesigned the console to make it so Americans don't put their cola cans on top of it.The best part about this is that it sounds like a shitpost but it's absolutely true lmao.

Here's another fag doing the same thing
It used to be normal to put stuff on top of your TV back in the day too. Sometimes people put decorative stuff there like flowers or candles or McDonald's toys or something. But some people would put food and drinks there. Again, it sounds like I'm making this shit up if you weren't around back then, but it was absolutely a thing I swear.
>>12884058Did a single person ever actually do that or were the NOA people just worried over nothing
>>12884245People did that shit all the time. Especially with the TV.
americhubs cant go 5 seconds without chugging on a soda, they put them EVERYWHERE
