My slim PS2 recently started scratching rings on the inside of my disks, what's going on and how do I stop it?
The ribbon cable is lose you gotta replace it. You can tape it down too but it'll only hold for a while
>>12884273It's on the inside of the disks, are you sure it's the ribbon cable?
>>12884263get free mcboot or a clone
>>12884263Stop playing with original disks, OP you faggot. Get yourself images (from your disks or the seven seas or whatever), check them against known redump hashes, burn those backups and stop worrying. http://redump.org/
>>12884325I forgot, you'll need to patch them with ESR
>>12884263all part of sony's plan to erase physical media
>>12884263actual good advice, did it to my 9k: https://github.com/FloppidyDingo/PS2-Disk-Saver
>>12884263collect physicalplay digital
>>12884273the ribbon is perfectly fine if he still can play games.if he tapes it with good quality tape it will last at least as much as the factory double sided tape.
>>12884263that's normal.
>>12884273Literally retarded

That's a feature
>>12884325You might as well go the extra step and use HDD, SMB, or UDBPD too. Only burn games the have compatibility issues with non disc setup
>>12884327You can use mechapwn and the master disc patcher as an option now too (if your ps2 model is compatible with mechapwn). It's 100% consistent once it's setup with no weird flashing colors like ESR. I remember having to occasionally reboot to get ESR to work back in the day. Mechapwn also does some kind of unlock to make burnt ps1 games work without needing to use any disc swapping or launcher. They just boot right up like a real disc. Don't even need FMB or anything once the console is patched.
