Is Tropico fun? Should I skip the first one and just play the sequel?

The first one was the best one.

It's not /vr/ but I played 4 a lot years ago. I liked it well enough.

I think that it's a very nice city builder, i liked how every citizen is sort-of simulated and each one has its own work/leisure routine, it also has a very exquisite depiction of mid-century Latin American politics, that, while it does feel sort of silly, i do think that it adequately captures the zeitgeist of the various dirty wars and proxy conflicts on that particular region, i genuinely like this one better over Sim City or the ones made by Impressions games.
Of course, i recommend that you pirate(heh) them, and just like, fuck around in a easy scenario, it's a very "pick up and play" game and you'll probably make up your mind in 30 minutes, nothing to lose here.

Thanks! Yeah, easy enuff to find it's just on GOG
>>
It's fun but, unless they fixed it in a patch sometime, the economy of any advanced island you make will collapse because the pathfinding and such is fucked

Has its moments
