It’s pretty tragic to consider how even with the benefit of decades of hindsight and experience, infinitive time, passion, autism, and now AI, Sega Saturn homebrew has only recently managed to attain the graphical fidelity of first year PlayStation games.

You think that’s bad? Atari Jaguar games still look like shit even after the benefit of modern technology to optimize every part of the process. Where’s all these amazing homebrews Jaguar fanboys were telling us was totally possible if only the developers knew how to utilize the twin chips?

So you mean the Saturn is finally capable of producing mind-boggling effects?

AvP looked fine.

Lack of piracy killed the Saturn

Yay... Now I get to play through 4 games on the Sega Saturn that didn't suck ass. Thanks Claude and Ranjeet for saving my childhood.

Honestly the Saturn's biggest sin was not having transparency in the 5th fucking generation, WTF were they thinking?
It was a problem already during the 4th generation.
As for the poor 3d capabilities: admit it, the 5th generation wasn't ready for full 3d autism, everyone shilled it because it was da new technology but it sucked.

>5th generation wasn't ready for full 3d
depends on the game, the more constrained ones (vs. fighters, racing) looked fine

Yeah, it was only good at shoebox car simulators like Ridge Racer, SEGA rally or CMR Rally.

>Thanks Claude and Ranjeet
to be fair, the guy was pushing the saturn to produce mind boggling effects years before AI came along
