Are there any alternative clients for Steam and GOG Galaxy that are compatible on Windows 7? Tried asking on /v/ last night, but the post sank like a stone. Is SteamCMD worth using?

upgrade to linux and use lutris
>>
>>12890389
This is probably the correct move in current year
>>
>>12890381
i play pirated games on my secondary old gaming pc that i don't mind getting infected with malware
>>
>>12890381
Don't bother with game clients. If you own shit on GOG just hoard installers.
If it's Steam, either crack it or download a pirated copy.

These days you're more likely to catch malware from Steam than from piracy.

>upgrade to linux

What a horrible idea

Disgusting.... Almost puked a little
>>
>>12890381
Like they say either linux or vibeslop support for windows 7 back into steam with grok build or something. There's also this: https://github.com/Jhafer-studios/Steam-Legacy
>>
>>12890389
Also forgot to add, I was puking because of the dicks in my mouth. Not because of Linux.
>>
>>12890381
older versions of playnite might work
doesn't steam just work on windows despite giving a warning?
>>
>>12890389
Your kind is like vegans of computing.
>>
>>12890381
I think it's time to let it go, anon.
>>
>>12890381
Does VxKex not work for Steam?
>>
>>12891738
Except we actually work. Windows has been garbage for a long time. You're like an old man that refuses to learn anything new but is completely fine with forced upgrades and hunting down random dll files from sketchy websites.
>>
>>12890381
What is really annoying is that all these so-called "pc ports" of old games all require Windows 10 or 11. All this stuff should be compiled with Windows 95 support.
>>
>>12892709
What DLLs? Forced upgrades my ass. I can install a version of program form 20 years ago and it'll just work. On Linux I have to use whatever's the latest in the repository.
>>
>>12890389
I'm currently taking an IT course that includes fixing stuff from both Windows and Linux, and I hate how Linux is literally a stone age barbarian garbage that needs lots of typing shit that requires 2 clicks on Windows
>>
>>12892719
Holy shit you sound dumb, CLI is way better for fixing shit and Bash mogs Powershell
>>
>>12892721
That's why 99.9% of the world doesn't touch Shitux
>>
>>12892724
If you knew anything you’d know that:
The majority of servers are Linux
Android is Linux
Steam Deck runs on Linux
Almost every super computer runs Linux
Routers, embedded systems, smart TVs, and countless IoT devices run Linux

Linux is the backbone of modern networking, scientific computing, and much of the internet.
>>
>>12892719
You should learn a trade instead

Ya like blowing dudes, cuz everyone who hates GODnix is a fagola

fpbp and /thread
>>

>GOG Galaxy
You don't need GOG Galaxy to play GOG games. That's why I only buy games on GOG now.
>Steam
You can only hope that your old Steam instalation still works. Or just pirate, LOL.
>>
>>12892719
>I hate how Linux is literally a stone age barbarian garbage that needs lots of typing shit that requires 2 clicks on Windows
Have you considered using a desktop environment?
>>
>>12892719
using your 2 clicks to press the reinstall windows and yes buttons, i see.
as someone that actually works fixing pc's, no, that is not a fix.
>>
>>12892709
>but is completely fine with forced upgrades
are linux fags too retarded to use windows? you can, and should, just disable updates
and this thread is about windows 7 which doesn't get updates anyway, retard
