This shit is almost $200. Since when are Dreamcast games so expensive all of the sudden?
>>12891341That game has been expensive for decades dumbass
>>12891341They've always been a little on the pricey side and called for a premium relative to other versions.
30 year old boomers are gonna pay $50 for a scuffed gb tetris at some point
>>12891346Not really. I bought a copy of mine in like 2012 for $40 and remember thinking "wait wtf retards always said this was rare"
>>12891341Its called Scarcity anon
>>12891341Too many people pirated Dreamcast games to the point where not enough people bought legit copies because of it.
>>12891341>This shit is almost $200.No it isn't. One retard listed it for $200, it is really $120-$130
>>12891369It's the PS2 version that was stupid expensive on account of it getting a short production run as Capcom just lost the license at the time or something.
>>12891341Because you want it
>>12891373In other words... Piracy Killed The Dreamcast? They brag about back ups, but they never paid a cent. Funny how their free collection matched Sega's descent.
>>12891465It’s already been consensus that piracy killed the Dreamcast and that Japanese programmers wrote NES games on Apple ][s for years.
>>12891341Since ages. Check the price of Sonic Adventure 2, a mass-produced mainstream title that sold a couple of million copies, if you really want to know how bad it is.
>>12891341MvC2 is worth less now than it was in 2020 (both loose and CIB). They used to be more consistently ~$200 back then and now they are mostly $80-$120 range in 2026.Lots on the market.
>>12891341Just emulate them
>>12891341Buy a GDEMU
>>12891341games still in dreamcast jewel cases still go for good money. loose discs are worth a lot less.I picked up virtual on in jewel case for $10 a while back and now its like the price of a new AAA game.
>>12891341Is that in Belize or East Carribean Dollars? The campaign to free MVC2 was successful and now you can get the game in an Arcade1up or on Switch and PS4 for about $20USD. The Japanese version of the Dreamcast release is everywhere and also can be found at all the recycle shops. I think it did get costly on the PS2 and Xbox because the license expired, but then it got released on the 360 and PS3 which helped a lot. The game is available for a wide variety of platforms spanning many many years, so it can be found more easily than other games.
>>12891341All of *A* sudden
>>12891341It's a legendary fighting game and the dreamcast version in particular was the best port for a long time so it built a reputation and now it attracts collectors.
>>12891483No it fucking didn't
>>12891483True and true.
>>12891341Entire retro game market is basically a long series of scams now.
>>12891341I traded a buddy my complete ruroni kenshin collection for this a month before it released on ps3…
>>12891341It's cheaper now than it's been in a long while actually. >$200Buy it loose for $50 or just burn the disc for free. If you cared about owning a physical copy you'd have bought it 30 years ago.
>>12891341mvc2 specifically also didn't have a port to modern consoles for forever, and that version used to be the definitive edition afaik
>>12893009I hate how the author of that series is a convicted pedophile. Such an amazing manga and anime both.
>>12891341I solved this problem by getting a copy on the original XBox and it wasn't even expensive, and was just as fun. I had it on DC back in the day but lost it.
>>12891341Games are expensive because of people like this retard>>12892391 pay the high prices so he can show off his shiny plastic to strangers on the internet. always pictures of the physical games or consoles but never any pictures of him actually playing them.
2D fighting games on 3D consoles have always been expensive.
