How was it to experience the greatest game ever made for the first time as a kid, back in the 90s?!
>>12914610Yeah playing Castlevania IV was great, why the random picture in the OP though?
>>12914610Leaving Midgar for the first time was an iconic moment ngl.
>>12914637castlevania iv < castlevania iii < the legendary axe
What the fuck was his problem?
>>12914610>pic unrelatedIt was so surreal, having Psycho Mantis read your memory card is still one of the most memorable moments in gaming.
>>12914659>says the same thing after zelda runs away from the castle to escape from ganondorfwhat would possibly be considered "troubles in the world" for him i wonder
>>12914659Some people just wanna watch the world burn.
>>12914610It was awesome but I felt really bad for the kids stuck with consoles. Imagine if all you had to play was some Zelda game and you somehow had to convince yourself it was actually good.
>>12914657Legendary Axe is good but the dogshit boss fights beside the final boss really bring it down.
>>12914820the final boss is the coolest looking thing ever. the other bosses are gank fights but its cool that they are common enemies after
>>12914610The greatest game ever wouldn't have some of the most irritating character sounds around. Listening to the fucker scream every half second drove me mad as a kid.
>>12914610Zeldafags are so insufferable. This franchise is the reason why action and action-adventure games from the 1990s onwards have been filled with pointless and time-wasting puzzle and gimmick sections that have nothing to do with basic combat and exploration. Its influence as a franchise has been far more negative than positive in the world of videogames.
>>12914839>HYA! HYA! HYA! HYA! HYA!thanks Nintendo, this is just what the GBA remake needed.after all, it worked so well in Super Mario Advance.
>>12914610Magical. When I saw that titlescreen I knew it was the best game of all time
>>12914610It was the peak of my entire life at 6 yrs old. That and my first shot of booze.
>>12914610Captivating
>>12914610It was pretty dope. Wouldn't trade it for anything else.
>>12914610Was at a friends house near Christmas. At the starting village I didn't think the graphics were that good and I didn't like the auto jump, I think I had recently played the MGS demo for comparison and stuff like Soul Reaver. It was the more you played it the more you like it type of game. I think I said in the room at the time, hey you know in that section the background is just a 2D image.I didn't play Zelda games before but I know people had that OK Nintendo, wow me attitude. You have got to admit at the first crack that Mario 64 looks graphically better. One of those games I appreciate what its doing as I'm older, back then I was more in crunchy detailed texture work.>>12914839at the time I might have said Age of empires or Motorcross madness, even Powerslide for pc.
>>12914903Accurate rememberer. Automatic jump was weird at first, as was Goldeneye with no jumping at all. Nobody knew what z targeting was and it took awhile to get the hang of. I was hyped for ocarina after having beaten links awakening and watching my older brother play the nes games, but I honestly thought it kinda sucked for the first hour or two. Busting through the spiderweb and into the basement in the deku tree won me over completely though.
>>12914903>You have got to admit at the first crack that Mario 64 looks graphically better. One of those games I appreciate what its doing as I'm older, back then I was more in crunchy detailed texture work.mario 64 was the big deal that discourse trannies pretend ocarina was
>>12914610It was not that good. I remember playing Goldeneye more than this. Fucking Goldeneye man, had unlockables and mission challenges and 4 player local coop. What the fuck did OoT have?
>>12914610>as a kid>back in the 90s18+, zoomer
>>12915000>2008 babies are turning 18 this yearkill me
When I first came across this dude I was so scared.
>>12915020But look at that widdle face. He's such a lovable goofball.
>>12914610I played Zelda 1 as a kid and really really liked it. That was amazing. Zelda II was also great. They really could have stopped there as far as I was concerned. I was too old and experienced for Ocarina by the time it came out. I'm sure it was great for kids though. It is a good game.
>>12914610For one, back then underage like you played games instead of just watching a youtube and shitposting about them
>>12914610It hadn't come out until the later 2000's
>>12914643>MidgarDude, there is no Midgar in Ocarina of Time.
>>12914849You're just jealous.
>>12914610Everything improved on perfection, including the musichttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpJEmCK51W4
>>12916228OP was referring to the greatest game ever made back in the 90s, which would be FF7.
>>12914610Fun
Vastly Inferior to Link To The Past.Thats exactly what it was like.Similar critiques to what BOTW&TOTK got recently: too much wandering, not enough enemy density, music not as good as LTTP, etcNobody was really all that hype about Ocarina of Time, except the very small handful of nerds obsessed with low poly 3d graphics. The 3d N64 game EVERYONE universally loved, and stayed hype about for years, was MARIO KART 64
>>12914610>game is so good that the N64 sold like shit and only 1 country gave a fuck about itlol
