I'm convinced flame atronachs can be damaged by significantly hotter flames but I can't get mine to burn hotter than a red flame. I'm considering just hiring an alchemist or brewing up something that will melt through them myself, any pointers?

If Ulfric has any political sense whatsoever, this won't even be a joke. Skyrim alone can't handle the knife-ears, and cutting himself off from the Empire would be completely retarded if his motivation has anything to do with opposing the Thalmor, especially as he's already a veteran warrior but lacks an heir to the throne of Windhelm should he die in battle. But if he makes an alliance with Hammerfell, maybe the annihilation of his independent Skyrim will look more like a heroic last stand and not a rabbit running right into the jaws of a wolf. All he has to do to solve his problems is get himself into some ebony, and I don't mean armor.

Whether or not any leading family in Hammerfell would give their daughter over to a drooling barbarian is a different story.

Imperial cowards are so afraid of the Thalmor they let them roam around the empire unmolested to liquidate their political enemies because war is scary and bad and they might lose!
