1.5 months till the new xeno is revealed
Xenogears a shit
>>3977348I got like 15 hours through Xenosaga. No offence but it is an awful game. It is an incredibly slow, ugly (and this isn't a "oh it's a 20 year old game" thing, it was ugly in 2002 when it came out), unfun, and tedious game that feels like it was shipped out half a year before it should have with how unfinished every single aspect of it feels like.
>>3977419XS2 is like that too. You gotta put up with it (or just watch on youtube) if you want to get to XS3 though
>>3977384How do you know this
>>3977437switch 1 xenoblade reveal/release cadence
>>3977437He had a vision
>>3977419idk i think it looked pretty good emulated in 4kalso the gameplay gets interesting only in the latter half, if not the latter quarter depending on whether you read up how to navigate the system>>3977420nah xs2 is way worseXS3 is the best one though yeah, it sucks they had to basically give up on their original ideas and going back to the tried and true final fantasy formula. Like i still think XS1 has a pretty cool system all things considered, and XS2 main fault is that they completely forgot about aoe attacks so mob fights are a ballbusting drag, but boss fights can be cool (if you make peace with having to waste the first few turns just boosting, which yeah could be done better)
>>3977437uncle works for nintendo
Damn I was wondering about all the rushed disc 2 comments and now im finally here. They really wasted all their dev time making shit tournament arcs for disc 1 instead of focusing on the actual story which is in disc 2
>>3977616Enjoy the Powerpoint presentation! And definitely enjoy the CBT final dungeon!
>>3977643PowerPoint when disc 2 has 4 dungeons?>>3977616We don't know how development went
The chair arc is absolute kino
>>3977709>toiletThis game is a bowel movement
>>3977384Don't care unless they finally stop pumping out shit and make good games again.
>>3977787https://youtube.com/watch?v=FL1lwTmZdiAHere’s your remake and it’s only chances
>>3977790Awful AI gen and of course they had to imagine it as open world slop.
>>3977643I mean im enjoying the story a lot more than in disc 1, imagine what could've been>>3977687Regardless a remake should cut out a lot of the garbage in the 1st half of disc 1, and flesh out the 2nd, which is what they should've thought about in the 1st place
>>3977815That isn’t even vaguely close to any locations in Gears
>>3977830Yeah, because it's AI generated shit.
>>3977836Proves that even at its most refined, it fails.
massive damage, hehe
>>3977787they did that starting with xenoblade 1

>>3978258What GPU are you using? That whole area is fucked on my budget GPU. Was planning on upgrading at some point but been putting it off for years now.
>>3978622RX 7600 with Vulkan high accuracy on Loonix & latest Eden git. It uses about 40-50W out of 145W TDP on the GPU so you don't really need high end hardware.I was wrong when posting about how to upscale without graphics going haywire in the previous thread. The "2x Super Sampling" mod was consistently shitting the bed after I cleared my shader cache for autistic reasons just after posting. "2K - xc3-friends - v2" used in this new screenshot works much better but I still had one vertex explosion at the end of a dialog scene transitioning back into party controlled gameplay within ~10 hours of playtime. It's usually one of the character models spazzing out and can sometimes be fixed by changing costumes and teleporting around the map without having to resort to restarting emulation.I don't think it's the GPU specifically but the Vulkan renderer in yuzu based emulators having problems with specific combinations of settings and mods when there's no cached shader available. Disabling async shader compilation however didn't fix it and the vertex explosions are probably related to async presentation which wasn't a user setting in Eden until recently (it was a setting in yuzu and then was removed before the forking iirc). Disabling async presentation however slows shit down way too much.Use "2K - xc3-friends - v2", quicksave often so you can restart the emulator in case a cutscene blows up and hope for the best.
I stood up and clapped.
>>3978807>AI gets good enough someone shits out a remake of itWill you play it?
Finally finished gears. Great game. My tier list is now>S tier: blade 1>A tier: gears, saga 1, blade 2, blade x>D tier: blade 3Im curious how bad saga 2 really is. So far that intro with chaos and canaan has been awesome
>>3979271Episode 2 has some of the best and interesting cutscenes, its just the gameplay that holds it back.

>>3977815>OW is... le BADFuck off, Xenogears' story coupled with Xenoblade X's open-world would be the single best videogame ever made in human history, and by a huge margin(as long as they don't make it AIslop of course)
>>3979836>Graphics>Gears that lowGears has some of the best spritwork from that generation, animation wise. Wish I had made some webms when I first played Gears.

wise man once say Xenogears a shit
I swear this game makes me hate flutes with a passion.
>>3980504Fweeeeeee
>>3980504I love the flutes, especially when it's used in battle themes like Moebius M and Keves Battle

>>3980332>Because nothing is more thrilling than spending hours trudging across empty landscape.Ah yes, I suppose it's much more thrilling spending them blankly staring at black screens as you transition from one copy-pasted corridor to another.>It wouldn't be as bad if there was actually stuff to do in the open world, but Xenoblade repeatedly fails on that front.Play the fucking games before talking. There is literally no videogame in existence that is more densely packed with stuff to do than Xenoblade Chronicles X. Even the fucking desert area has more stuff in it than an average area from an average non-ow game.>There has never been a good open world.True, but that's entirely because developers think as long as they have a good OW, they can safely dismiss anything else. Open world games are mediocre *DESPITE* being ow, never *because* of it.>All the more reason why Monolith Soft needs to abandon itThey already abandoned it in 2, and guess what? It was a huge step backwards. There are much more "empty" places in 2 and 3 than there are in X.>Stop building big empty spaces and fix the real problems with Xenoblade. The open world was literally the only redeeming factor about Xenoblade Chronicles X. If you took it out, you wouldn't fix anything, on the contrary you would only turn it from mediocre to downright garbage.
>>3981215>True, but that's entirely because (meant for >>3981066)>They already abandoned it>The open world was(meant for >>3981118)
>>3981215>Play the fucking games before talking.I've played three of them. I made it through 9 chapters of X before dropping it because I was bored out of my skull. The only thing to do in that open world was kill shit and place probes and the combat fucking sucked ass. They need to drop the MMO-styled garbage and learn to write a real fucking story again.
>>3980972
I just started xenogears and played about 6 hours, you faggots are completely retarded. it truly isn't a game, the areas are like 3 rooms with no geometry that are only difficult to navigate because of the fucking retarded camera. what the fuck am I playing? are there actual areas in this game?

>>3979603Congratulations, you reached the apex of the game.
>>3979653the Squaresoft alumni probably read too much tragikino books during the 80s and 90s
>>3977437June Direct rumors looks likely and there's that chink XB4 rumor.
>>3981694Playing XBC3 honestly made me want a ocean world type open world Xeno game. I'd love to see an interesting take on Wind Waker from this series but instead of a bunch of small island you have more giant land masses and continents. The ocean wouldn't be empty either and would be full of life like various monsters at different levels while you and your party could hop out the ship and fight them whenever you wanted. Pretty much the same as chapter 5 in XBC3 except bigger and more stuff to do. This was what I was hoping XBC2 was gonna be like with the cloud sea. That was such a waste of a interesting set piece.
>>3981118Man, fuck off. I do NOT want the return of FFX-style corridor campaigns where all you can expect are a handful of good dungeons and a solid combat system. I like expansive worlds. They give a nice bit of breathing room in between all the lengthy cutscenes in most of this series.
>>3981718At least you got a solid combat system in FFX. That's more than Xenoblade offers.
Where the fuck are the switch 2 versions for the blade trilogy?
>>3981709erythia was wind waker's great sea done right. FUCK the great sea
>>3981726lol no, X's combat system is worse than every xeno game except saga 1/2 and maybe gears. Most overrated jRPG combat of all time
A couple of days ago I just finished Future Redeemed and with it, the whole Xenoblade series.Man what a ride, I feel like I played something special. If I had to rank them all it'd be:XB 1 > FR > Torna > X > XB 2 >FC > XB 3But really it's a franchise where the "worst" game is a solid 7,5/10 leaning to 8.Wish I could erase my memory to play XB1 for the first time again.
>>3981840Xenoblade's combat is fucking trash.
>>3981856Much better than FFX's mindless drivel
>>3981850Nice. Glad you liked it. I'll be honest, I didn't play X and couldn't finish 2 due to hating the gameplay, but I truly love 1, 3 and FR.Can't wait for 4
>>3981871Please give Torna a chance, it's everything 2 should've been.Granted the game assumes you know what's going with 2 but at this point I assume you know all of it already. Torna made me forgive 2.
>>3981875>Please give Torna a chance, it's everything 2 should've been.no, vanguard arts and talent arts returning are nice but the customization/party building is largely gutted. Making orb master a default mechanic was a big mistake as well, nevermind the forced side quests
>>3981887>nevermind the forced side questsYeah those sucked, ngl, but overall I welcomed how flexible the orb combos were here after how rigid they were in base 2. Hated feeling forced to use super specific blade combinations and hope to be able to break the orbs (the gacha didn't really help me to be able to make the builds the game expected me to make for the superbosses)Like yeah I know the story Rare Blades the game hands you are in theory "enough" to get the full bursts but if you want a chance at the super bosses you better start praying to RNGesus. The game never gave me KOS-MOS but at least I got T-elos with glasses so it's all good. Now I remember the DLC also gives you Shulk and Elma, I wonder how much of a help are they and if it's too much of a drag to get them.
>>3981892the lack of blade combo paths and orb master on everyone by default makes torna a more spammy game than base 2, proper art usage is emphasized far less>Shulk and ElmaFiora is better than both of them but you basically can't get any of them outside of the challenge arena until you're near end game due to the challenges associated with unlocking them
>>3981895I think that's precisely the reason, sometimes I don't like having to think too much. It really depends on my mood, somedays I want to carefully plan my Blade compositions to achieve the beeg damage number and sometimes I just want to outright see it.How are the Xenosaga games?
I prefer the old character models in xenoblade 1. I know lots of people think they are ugly but I really like them. The new ones just look generic to me.
>>3981907Pretty much nothing like XC gameplay-wise.
>>3981907Xenosaga 1/2 have fucked up gameplay but the stories build up to something good in 3 (also don't miss out on pied piper/missing year's stories). Saga 3 is genuinely fun and a great conclusion to the arc
>>3981907>How are the Xenosaga games?Better than Xenoblade in every conceivable way.
>>3981959More consistent to the original plan
>>3981907>>3981953>>3981959>>3981994I played through the first third or half of Xenosaga 1 as a teen. I remember loving the story, not sure how I felt about the gameplay, but it felt like watching a show with the long cutscenes they threw at you and thus I dropped it. I'm willing to pick it back up again, because Xenogears was and still is one of my favorite JRPG stories, and Xenosaga felt like it would add to that world.I don't know if they connect at all. No spoiies anons, but... do they?
>>3982004They don't connect in any canon way. Xenosaga is its own thing. It's a spiritual successor, not a sequel.
>>3982006Saga was a restart that Takahashi et al did that was basically Xenogears Ep. I. It was to tell the story of the Galactic Civ that the Eldridge came from
>>3981907More serious and closer to Gears in terms of story, tone, and characters than anything from the Blade series. Gameplay is nothing like the Blade series either and is your usual turnbase jrpg but with some battle system twist. Also LOTS of long cutscenes, this was the movie game series of 6th gen. If I had to compare the series to anime Gears was like your late 90's mecha anime, Saga is like you mid 2000's space opera anime, and Blade is like your modern manlet seasonal shounen. Completely different genres basically. If you aren't into older shows like that then I wouldn't bother. Saga especially is like a 24+episode anime from the early 2000's in video game form.If you're still interested in Saga be sure to only get the undub uncensored ISO if you do pick it up. 1st episode starts out pretty slow and has a lot of world building and info dump, even has a term menu to look up new terms in case you forget, and gets really weird and confusing at times but the later episodes go into more details with the last episode warping up everything and painting the full picture. Gameplay wise each episode change up the battle system with episode 3 feeling like they finally got it right.Episode 2 is the biggest filter because its mostly side quests with chunks of story in between, only thing that's similar to Blade I guess but worst. These quest can be permanently missed if done wrong or even failed but you have to save for either to be an issue. The battle system change in Episode 2 is also not a lot of people's favorite. The games had flaws but playing them for the first time last year, I was pretty blown away at a lot of little details the games were pulling off. In cutscenes, when a character gets hurt, you're going to see the damage. I've played modern games where a character is literally burned all over and their clothes are still in tacked. They almost never change the models for something simple in modern games. I think 6th gens used to always been like that
When they ar done with Xenoblade, I hope someday they get the chance to remake Gears and Saga.Though it would never happen and be like the FF7 remakes if it was.
>>3981887>no, vanguard arts and talent arts returning are nice but the customization/party building is largely guttedTbh, that is the case for FR too. Its just the consequence of being a smaller DLC.
What I like in 3 is how the "Monado" was a super mode instead of being the main weapon. It feels more appropriate, and explain why Noah could still lose despite having a "god sword".
>>3982014Episode 1 database was so kino
>>3982086Episode 3's database is fucking awesome because it just casually drops that the majority of the population live in pods eating government gruel doing vr all day and that having any sort of employment at all makes you at least a local celebrity
>>3982094it also starts talking about whether MOMO can get pregnant or not completely unprompted
Oh my fucking god saga 2s combat is complete utter trash but everything else about the game is so good. Do you know of any guide that explains it as best they can? The forest near the gas station is kicking my ass. I don't understand zones or how to do double atks, or when to stock up. Enemies 2 shot me, so stocking up feels like a waste of a turn
>>3982998The easiest way to play the game is to have MOMO cast Ether Sword to give herself a massive attack buff and then match her element to the enemy's elemental weakness. Have your other party members break their shield and then have momo unleash.Easiest party in my opinion Is KOSU-MOSU, Jin and MOMO.
>>3982998>or when to stock upall the time. I'm not joking, you spend your first few turns always stocking up, and then do whatever. It works wonderfully for bosses, especially the one you're about to meet (i remember it kicking my ass the first time, then i tried again by stocking up first and straight up mauled him in one single turn)you'll also eventually learn abilities that restore ether points and whatever else when you stock up, making stocking up constantly an even more important part of the gameplayalso, unironically, you should just avoid fights and cheat in skill points, cause fighting mooks in this game is brain rotting
bird butt
>>3983077I don't have Jin yet but with those two plus jr, i've been getting by a lot better now. I just hope I can pull off double attacks cause I really wanna see their moves together>>3983083I'm definitely gonna be stocking up 1st thing now. I killed the boss 1st try stocking up and comboing the hell out of it with Jr and kos mos. The combat is actually kinda fun against bosses, its the mobs that drag it down so hard
I think I just captured irrefutable proof that Ouroboros are racist:https://files.catbox.moe/wocsbf.mp4
>>3983321What did Taion meant by this?
>>3982038FR did it better because there was more customization with specific fusion art combos and party finishers, despite not being as customizable as the base game
i know Xenosaga is linear but do they have any optional stuff at all?
>>3983772There are a few superbosses
>>3983726I wouldn't know since I have never played Torna. However, I think FR did a lot of things right, like the progression tied to the collectopedia or Smash and Burst being gated behind super moves.
>>3983772Episode 1 has a ton of minigames that are totally optional, it has its own virtua on clone and a giant casino you are never even required to usethere aren't many major side quests, closest is assembling the erde kaiserEpisode 2 has no minigames but a shit ton of side quests that range from time wasting to sadisticit has three post game dungeons that are very high difficulty but have no plot content, just hard fights (and the dark erde kaiser)Episode 3 has a puzzle game where you pinball the characters around to their deaths repeatedly which can be pretty funny and a few minor side quests here or there, most of which unlock character's final weapons (or the erde kaiser sigma) it wisely gives out database entries as rewards because they know why we play these games
>>3983228Very nice bird butt, got anymore?
>>3983772Its a normal jrpg anon. Not having open worlds isn't going to bite you.
Feels like I'm reaching the final stretch of XBC3. Don't know if I should continue on or finish off some remaining side quests. I still have a few more classes to uncap. My current party is at around lvl 56 on normal.
>>3984139>normalyou can get through all the content at that level if you're smart about it
Let me see if I get this right (Spoilers for XC1):Zanza was inside Arglas AND Shulk at the same time?He then waited for Shulk to arrive to Prison Island using the excuse of "unlocking" the monado's true power to fully go inside Shulk and wait for the right moment to manifest himself? Apparently Shulk's temporary death is what triggers Zanza physical body at full strength?
>>3984139I'd suggest AGAINST doing sidequests because they'll make an already looooong game even loooonger and can lead to burnout. If you must, I suggest to only do yellow sidequests as you find them but don't try to go too out of your way to do so. The Side Stories of all 6 protags are fine tho.
>>3984322>Zanza was inside Arglas AND Shulk at the same time?Kinda, yeah, think of Arglas, the Monado and Shulk as three Horcruxes Zanza split a bit of his soul into, or in Kingdom Hearts terms, Arglas and Shulk both got Norted by Zanza>He then waited for Shulk to arrive to Prison Island using the excuse of "unlocking" the monado's true power to fully go inside Shulk and wait for the right moment to manifest himself?Yep>Apparently Shulk's temporary death is what triggers Zanza physical body at full strength?Basically yes, though personally I think it had more to do with Shulk's body being bombarded by a high quantity of Ether, similar to how High Entia turn into Telethia, than Shulk dying that did the trick. Zanza wanted to wait until Egil/the Mechonis was out of commission before showing himself
>>3984139You should keep the remaining sidequest for after finishing the game. There is new sidequests that unlock after finishing the story.
>XC1 and 2 arent connected> they end up connected> They added unnecesary Lore to 1 > the new Lore from 2 ends up beimg extremely relevant to 1> The Ares Prime isnt a reference to ouroboros>Ends up being litterally a 1to1 of Noahs Ouroboros>X isnt connected> It litterally ends with a 1to1 of XC3 endingTruly, this is an endless cycle of people gaslighting themselves into thinking that there arent going to be ramifications of what we see, We are at best 2 years away from Saga Remakes after the Radio in FR.
What the hell is the missing year and how do I access it and what's the best way to experience it? I looked up all xenosaga games and that didn't come up at all. And I clicked the wiki link and it makes no mention of whether it's a game or whatever the hell it is. Just that it released
>>3984583Just wait until they confirm that the Ares Prime and Ouroboros are all manifestations of the Xenogears
>>3984636Missing year is just a flash movie between XS 2 and 3, its on YouTube, and yes its canon, its not crucial but it expkains a lot of Shions mental state in XS 3

>>3984665It is the same, the rings were just invisible beacause of the angles, This is something that happens irl and happens litterally the same cutscene we first see those planetary rings in XAnd i find funny how people now talk about the rings as if before those same people didnt say that KosMos was the blue light of FR ending ( the White Whale 2 emits a blue light btw ) Atp arguing about rings is at the same level of arguing if FF7R and OG are comepletely different series just beacause chadley exists in Remake.
