Chrono Trigger was the first that came to mind
Here’s a giant list of turn-based RPGs (or heavily turn-based hybrids) that avoid traditional random encounters by using visible enemies, fixed/story encounters, tactical maps, or encounter toggles.Chrono TriggerChrono CrossSuper Mario RPGPaper MarioPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year DoorEarthBoundMother 3Lufia II: Rise of the SinistralsGuardian's CrusadeParasite EveValkyrie ProfileValkyrie Profile 2: SilmeriaGrandiaGrandia IIGrandia IIILunar: Silver Star Story CompleteLunar 2: Eternal BlueJade CocoonSaGa FrontierSaGa Frontier 2Romancing SaGa 2Romancing SaGa 3Baten KaitosBaten Kaitos OriginsDragon Quest XIPersona 5 RoyalPersona 4 GoldenPersona 3 ReloadShin Megami Tensei VTokyo Mirage Sessions FERadiant HistoriaRadiant Historia: Perfect ChronologyChained EchoesSea of StarsFuga: Melodies of SteelFuga: Melodies of Steel 2Clair Obscur: Expedition 33Like a Dragon: Infinite WealthFinal Fantasy TacticsTactics Ogre: RebornFire Emblem: Three HousesFire Emblem EngageDisgaeaTriangle StrategyXCOM 2Mario + Rabbids Kingdom BattleMario + Rabbids Sparks of HopeBaldur's Gate 3Divinity: Original SinDivinity: Original Sin IIWasteland 3FalloutFallout 2Shadowrun ReturnsShadowrun: DragonfallShadowrun: Hong KongSouth Park: The Stick of TruthSouth Park: The Fractured but WholeMonster CollectorsCassette BeastsMonster SanctuaryWorld of Final FantasyDigimon Story: Cyber SleuthDigimon Story: Hacker's MemoryPokémon Scarlet & VioletPokémon Legends: ArceusMario & Luigi: Superstar Saga / Partners in Time /Bowser's Inside Story / Dream Team / Paper JamOmoriUndertaleDeltaruneBug Fables: The Everlasting SaplingRuined King: A League of Legends StoryBattle Chasers: NightwarCosmic Star HeroineAra FellRise of the Third PowerBreath of Death VIICthulhu Saves the WorldFinal Fantasy XIIFinal Fantasy XIIIXenosaga Episode IXenosaga Episode IIXenosaga Episode III.hack//IMOQBreath of Fire: Dragon Quarter

Earthbound
>>3982346Fallout has random encounters

I've been replaying Breath of Death VII with its full remake version, and I like what they do with dungeons. You can trigger a fight at any time in the menu. In dungeons, you get ~15 random fights, and any more afterward need to be manually triggered by you so you can grind as far as you want.
>>3982518That's actually a pretty cool idea.
>>3982268Almost any turn-based crpg
>>3982268Every Tales Of game from Symphonia onward with the exception of Rebirth.
>>3982346>Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth>Digimon Story: Hacker's MemoryRad codex games.
>>3982528You can do this in their other games too (the original BoD and their Cthulhu RPGs; Cosmic Star Heroine). It's a nice convenience.
Resonance of Fate (every room is a combat encounter)
>>3982357>>3982517These types of posters ruin this board
>>3982268Rogue Trader only has random encounters when flying your spaceship from planet to planet. These can be modded out. All encounters on the map are bespoke. Divinity: Original Sin 2 only has bespoke encounters.
>>3982532and legendia...And tempest too I think
>>3982346I don’t see fear and hunger 1 and 2 mentioned
>>3983004that's porn, those aren't games
>>3982787Most posters on this site seem to actively work with that goal in mind.
