The rpg genre itself is a laughable mockery of its artistically superior and foundationally solid brother, the action-adventure genre.Think about it Anons, is there ANY rpg that can (in good faith) match the objective gameplay quality or FUN factor of legendary adventure games like Minecraft, Zelda, or Skyrim? Can you HONESTLY say Morrowind has gameplay within leagues if the quality of Link to the Past? Despite not being rpgs, these games have incredible depth and meaning, and have stuck around for decades after their respective releases.Remember, video games are meant to be FUN...NOT a real life replacement.Think about all the work and toil you have put in to rpgs, for what? A shallow mockery of life? You can escape the pain of this world without needing to replace it.Rpgs are much like a child, longing to be an adult by emulating what they perceive as the complexity of adult life. But as adults, most of us long for the simplicity and peace of being a child again. It's time to move on from rpgs, /vrpg/...it's time to be a kid again. It's time to grow up.
>>3983150>Chud imageand why should we take you seriously?
>>3983351Why wouldn't you? Do you dislike chuds? It's not good to hate yourself Anon.
>>3983150>It's time to move on from rpgs, /vrpg/...it's time to be a kid again.>It's time to grow up.I don't get what you are saying. Also tell me an action game that lets you control multiple units in a granular way that turn based RPGs do.
>>3983150>Minecraft, Zelda, Skyrim>Good
>>3983574Please name five (5) games you believe are objectively good. You WILL be judged harshly.>Hardmode: Don't out your gender dysphoria
>>3983544Sorry, I only had rpgs made by people that deserve rights when I made that post. You can consider your jrpgs exempt.
>>3983618No actual arguments, just schizobabble.
>>3983620No, I actually conceded, if you were intelligent enough to comprehend the post. You made a valid point in that I only considered Western rpgs in my post, and so I see how it may not effectively apply to your games.
>>3983626> intelligent enoughyou were never intelligent so I don't really think I need to have that standards .an intelligent person would make a more coherent OP statement than the one made just to bait people only to respond with "but i didn't say that"
>>3983626You know turn based RPGs with party members have existed in west since like late 80s?
>>3983630It is bait. That was the point. Bait that YOU took.>>3983631And did you know that since then, they have evolved to be overwhelming made in the East, to the point they are called as such? And that being obtuse only puts you as a disingenuous ass?
>>3983635>confessionGood that you acknowledge it.Thread is over folks.
dumb postersdumb threaddumb boarddumb site
RPGs exist for autists and gamblers to stim over numbers. They would literally die in real life if you took them away. You are advocating for a genocide.
>>3983637The thread isn't over because your shitty subgenre wasn't the point. The thread is bait meant to ragebait fans of Crpgs and to a lesser extent wrpgs as a whole. The insane levels of mental dysfunction in your posts is dumbfounding. As if there are any good threads on the board to move to anyway.>>3983638No shit, that's the point>>3983639No, I am advocating self-improvement/medication
>>3983640>running away to /v/
>>3983641Not such much running away as moving to new fishing waters. I need my supply of (You)s to be maximized at all times. Rest assured, I'll be checking in on both threads.
Zelda has really fallen off lately. Zelda stuff used to be inescapable online
>>3983660Funny thinking back to the days ff7 and oot were spammed as the best of all time by everyone, so innocent
>>3983640I don't think I've seen this tactic before
>>3983660Because the fucking retarded japs ruined the story after LTTP (arguably Ocarina, though I only consider TLOZ, Links Adventure, and LTTP canon). By adding in more and more stupid weeb shit they distanced it from what it was meant to be, an unapologetic Westaboo fantasy for Easterners to appreciate.
>>3983676Yeah I don't think there's even a game everyone would claim is #1 of all time anymore. Maybe minecraft? Elden ring? Gaming culture is in a weird place
>>3987045Anyone claiming Elden Ring is le greatest game ever made needs to play a game Reddit dislikes for a change
>>3983150>Minecraft, Zelda, or Skyrim? What a shit bait, why did you put this at the start of the post? Now no one is gonna read the rest of this post. Anyone who quotes/replies to the text after this part is just you samefagging.
>>3983676>>3987045First, they were literally children. Nowadays it's all balding old faggotsAnd second:>>3987309The moment anyone insinuates a game is good, some sperg boy comes to tell them they're wrong lol
>>3983150I like Minecraft as much as the next guy, but it doesn't have much meaning outside of "Colonialism is based." Skyrim is slop, and has three copy pasted dungeons with four enemies. One guy who barely speaks English wrote, coded, and designed a better Skyrim.>>3983676I mean oot actually is quite good, and if we're setting up the accessibility measure it's a strong contender. >>3987045It's literally just like how some people will say Citizen Kane is the best movie of all time. Any medium that exists for long enough will have a wide range of genres develop, and differences in temperament, and culture cause people to neglect some titles over others. Video games add a number of additional levels of complexity on top of that. Difficulty, controls, availability. If this is the first video game someone ever played their experience is radically different than someone who has played a thousand of this genre alone. Questions like "Is the best game one designed around experienced gamers, first timers, or is it one able to be enjoyed by everyone inbetween? By the latter's logic, I'd say Portal is the best game of all time.
>>3983150>is there ANY rpg that can (in good faith) match the objective gameplay quality or FUN factor of legendary adventure games like Minecraft, Zelda, or Skyrim?I can name three. Minecraft, Zelda, and Skyrim.
>>3987468>The moment anyone insinuates a game is good, some sperg boy comes to tell them they're wrong lolCounterpoint: "Heh, you think [bad game] is bad? Name three games that you think are better, so that I say that the games that you like are bad, and tell you you're an idiot with bad taste"
>>3990442If you call a game bad, you better be able to confidently name 3 significantly better games.
>>3990453>name 3 significantly better gamesNice try
>>3990455Name 3 significantly better games than Akalabeth: World of Doom
>>3983150i found both The Witcher 3 (action adventure) and DOS2 (RPG) to be good games.
>>3990463>significantlyNice weasel word there to leave yourself some wiggle room.Indiana Jones and the Fate of AtlantisIron HelixKerbal Space Programthe function of the “heh, name three” move is deflection, to change the subject from the game being criticized such that the anon does not need to defend it on its merits (likely due to being unable to), but instead attack someone/something else.
>>3990476>Nice weasel word there to leave yourself some wiggle room. It's there to leave no room for argument. Look at this way, if you want to stop what you consider deflection, you can shut them up by naming a significantly better game.Be wary though. Just like you, I can criticize and call things bad. Just like you, I'm objectively correct. If you can't handle the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
>>3990489>if you want to stop what you consider deflection, you can shut them up by naming a significantly better gameWrong. Someone engaging in that behavior (deflecting to avoid defending their position) is not interested in honest debate or an attempt to arrive at the truth. They just want to feel like they're right in an argument on the internet, and will never concede defeat.>Just like you, I'm objectively correctNever claimed to be objectively correct. It is inherently a subjective matter. So many of the retarded autistic slapfights on this board are from anons conflating the two.
>>3990496>Someone engaging in that behavior (deflecting to avoid defending their position) is not interested in honest debate or an attempt to arrive at the truth. You say "defend". Does that mean they're attacked? And are they really in a position of any sort.
>>3990502>You say "defend". Does that mean they're attacked? They feel that way because they have emotionally identified with the game being criticized.>And are they really in a position of any sort.Implicitly their position is “[bad game] is good and you are wrong and stupid for thinking that it is bad”. Otherwise they wouldn’t give a shit. If person A likes something and person B says they dislike it, a perfectly reasonable response is “sucks to be you, you missed out, I liked it and had fun” and that’s that.
>>3990890>Implicitly their position is “[bad game] is good and you are wrong and stupid for thinking that it is bad”.Interesting.
>>3991014>Interesting.It's not. It's painfully obvious that it's a deflecting shortcut to stifle any meaningful discussion. Instead of "I disliked this game for X, Y, Z reasons" and "I disagree, I thought that it was good for I, J, K reasons" which provides fodder to talk about the game, it shortcuts to "I disliked this game for X, Y, Z reasons" "lol you think that game was bad? Name three games you think are better, so that I can criticize them, instead of refuting reasons X, Y, Z". Have you been on this board for more than five minutes?
>>3983615The Ur-Quan MastersTetrisWizardry 4The WitnessCorpse Party
>>3991211>>Interesting.>It's not.Hilariously disagreeable, while not even knowing what the other person is referring to.
>>3983150Why do autistic retards think that them not liking something means it shouldn't exist?
>>3983150Newfag image. Newfag buzzwords. Newfag OP. As always.
>>3991247>Hilariously disagreeableName three more agreeable anons, my friend. I’ll wait :)
>>3983150Not an RPG.
