The new chapter can't be far around the corner now, right? Are there any fangames to play before Chapter 5 drops?
I might make some time to play that "lost deltarune" this weekend. Even if it's cheesy it still sounded pretty fun.
I saw that reply about writing different POV and having the other characters get room to breathe. I really need to spend more time reading to see how other people do it in action, but I also think that realizing the urge to do something 'wrong', is making me want to do it more. I have these characters and I want to not only jump to each ones actions but also to their thoughts because "all of these characters surely have great and relevant thoughts!"

>>3989398Did you seriously get so set off this morning you decided to inform everyone here that you are an annoying shitposter that came over here to deliberately make awful posts?
>>3989383I'm not the best at giving advice cause god knows my writing isn't that good but I'm the anon that left the reply in the last thread before it bit the dust. I think the 'other chars could have great thoughts to this' is not a bad mindset but jumping too much too fast isn't that good. At least from what I noticed. Also always separate diff char speeches to different paragraphs.
>>3989409>Also always separate diff char speeches to different paragraphs.that makes sense, I know I mentioned in the other thread third person omnicient also for actually having the different thoughts take to the "screen" or whatnot, but I can't remember the last thing I read that was in that format.

I finally took the time to beat Kaizo Knight after its latest update.https://files.catbox.moe/4eu7b0.webmIt's definitely a fun and well balanced mod, but I do have a few gripes with it. There was a discussion last thread about how the fight looked bullshit on a glance, and while I can attest 90% of it is fair, the other 10% comes in 3 forms.1: Some attacks have a little bit of RNG. The stars attacks, and the spinning slices add an extra rng factor to their attacks that are fair and balanced 99% of the time, but sometimes it feels like I'm just given a pattern that looks and feels impossible to dodge, so you just have to tank a hit.2: There's basically a 1 in 3 chance when tanking larger bullets(or specifically the Box Splitter bullets) that Ralsei will just die instantly, even at full HP. It basically makes any form of mistake a roll of the dice if you have to waste a turn to revive him. In the video I shared, I was lucky to have Ralsei be downed only twice.3: That final attack... it's absolutely 100% consistent and can be no-hit, but its pattern is so unintuitive and heavily punishing, you're basically guaranteed to die to it blind. Using the practice mode to learn how to perfectly dodge that attack is basically mandatory so you have room to make mistakes due to nerves. They nerfed it so that you can take up to 9 hits instead of the 6 you could from last patch, but i honestly think it's too much of a wall given the onslaught you have to endure just to reach it.Either way, a solid 8/10 mod, the main sets of attacks do a good job in easing in and out of tougher patterns to give you breathing room to recover and stay in the fight, and the cut attacks work surprisingly well thanks to how they were modified. If it weren't for those few gripes I mentioned, I could almost see this working as a genuine superboss for Deltarune.
Martlet Drawanon here!So I'm redoing this post of requests due to what happened.Usually I'd keep to myself, but I feel like should say something about this.First I'm aware of all the requests I get, and am aware that whenever I've taken requests, there's been a troll, that's spammed a lot of the same requests, or made a lot of silly requests, which understandably can make it difficult to determine what's genuine or what's spam.Rest assured, that doesn't change what requests get drawn. I read all the requests I get, and multi posting the same request doesn't increase the chances of it getting drawn. Ultimately I want as many people to feel involved and acknowledged whenever I draw a request. Now as for the troll or trolls, spamming requests or other silly posts, another anon said it best, it doesn't matter who it is, where they came from, or what their true nature is. Just don't feed into it. All it does is give them more reasons to do what they do.I'd rather have people send whatever requests they have in mind my way, regardless of how bizarre they may be, instead of some feeling reluctant to do so, because they feel they'll get called out, or their request will get drowned out by spam troll requests.I understand people can get bothered or upset when I get bombarded with requests focused on one particular thing, that they may not like. But I ask you don't make a big deal out of it. I'm not all that bothered by it, or feel pressured, I just do my thing, like I always have. With all that out the way, let's do this again, where we all start fresh, and things are more amicable!Send your requests my way!
>>3989423>1: Some attacks have a little bit of RNG. The stars attacks, and the spinning slices add an extra rng factor to their attacks that are fair and balanced 99% of the time, but sometimes it feels like I'm just given a pattern that looks and feels impossible to dodge, so you just have to tank a hit.thats unfortunate, but given that you're saying most of the attacks avoid that, i've got to give it credit compared to some of the other stuff out there. Maybe after I get some writing done I'll give it a download.
>>3989424Draw a pregnant Luzma or Wiki, we need more fanarts of the fangame girls
>>3989424>I'd rather have people send whatever requests they have in mind my way, regardless of how bizarre they may be, instead of some feeling reluctant to do so, because they feel they'll get called out, or their request will get drowned out by spam troll requests.I went ahead and made my request, even though it feels like it got drowned out by all the shitposting. I'm not going to repost it because you make it sound like you get around to reading the requests either way, so I hope that other people don't feel like they need to repost their requests 5 times.
>>3989424It’s less likely a troll doing a majority of your unbirthing requests and more likely to be one guy. We’re just making fun of said guy
>>3989423Adding onto Ralsei dying so easily, it does make me miss Chapter 1's mechanic where it showed who would be taking damage for that turn. I think that would fix my issue with that, since then I'd know which turns to prioritse being defensive. As it is, I just have to defend as Ralsei for specific attacks I'm not confident in, which doesn't fix when Ralsei would die on an attack where I had a natural slip-up.
>>3989431Considering all the bullshit that was happening at the end of the last thread, I'm convinced whoever was doing that was the actual culprit.
>>3989430In this case I'd ask you to send me your request again. Normally I just read all the requests I get from the list I have notes as gradually increase, but It got way to out of hand in the last thread due to the excessive trolling, which is why I'm redoing it here.I have made a note of some of the requests I got. Still you should send it anyway, there's no harm in doing so.
>>3989424Anon experiencing death by snu snu after being paired with Zenith Martlet. How you do this is totally up to you.
>>3989434I’m sure there are a couple of trolls that are requesting the Chujin Starlo cock vore shit or “HAVE ZARTLET DICK CLOVER” (wouldn’t be surprising if a couple of people were into these though), but I’m also sure the unbirthingfag took up a majority of the replies
>>3989432Well, it only shows that after your turn. So you wouldn't be able to know on who to use defend.
>>3989424Anything with Gizmo
>>3989436I don't want to encourage that endless reposting, so I'm going to stick to not reposting it this time. If it doesn't make the cut of things you saw this time, that's ok, I might throw the request again out there next time but I look forward to seeing what you come up with this next time.I do hope that people consider being reasonable about the pseudo drama next thread. No real need for that kind of stuff.
>>3989424Bird family photo with Clover and Martlet.
>>3989440Tell me which of these two scenarios sounds more plausible to you.The unbirthing spamming guy is a troll that caught and threw a tantrum that continued on into this thread.OrThe thread manifested a bunch of shitposting trolls out of literal nowhere coincidentally at that very moment when it was at the bottom of even the /vrpg/ catalog, specifically just in time to provide a totally plausible cover to allow that specific kind of shitposting to stay?
>>3989442Okay I misremembered. then yeah, the only solution I see is to reduce their damage. It's pretty ridiculous that some attacks will do over half of Ralsei's HP if he's defending.
>>3989424That sucks, but I will repost my request:Do a follow up on the Sadie pic where she and Kanako are comparing their chests and Cole is just there not knowing what to do (maybe there is some breast squish?)Alternatively do that request another anon asked for Gizmo sneaking into Sadie while she showers, like a mirror of the one where Cole is the one walking into Kanako while she changes.

>>3989434>>3989440>>3989448If I'm being honest here, I'm starting to think one of you is the troll, because why are you opening a discussion and talking about this all over again here, lighting a fire that was already put out?Just give it a rest. People are over it. Stop prolonging this old drama.
>>3989424Well, guess I'll have to repost my request since everyone else is doing the same.Gizmo and Sadie facing each other, both of them naked. Sadie asks Gizmo who's going to make the first move, and both are blushing. You could try drawing it so that the perspective is slightly shifted to show more of their bodies. Also try drawing it so that there's an implied height difference. Gizmo's height is pretty inconsistent, but you could at least make him shorter than Sadie.
>>3989454>Gizmo's height is pretty inconsistent, but you could at least make him shorter than Sadie. Is it? In almost all depictions he is very short, even in DRY where he is a bit taller than UTY he is the shortest of the main cast

Putting this here because why not.
Played through Section 1 of Obliteration. It's not TOO cringeworthy yet. There's an Obliteration-exclusive Napstablook fight in Deltatraveler. The game encourages you to use S-Action to talk to them, which if you do enough times automatically ends the fight and aborts the route. You can't FIGHT Napstablook, but building TP and using Rude Buster kills them. Susie asks why you made her do that. Susie generally responds to you genosliding everyone by remarking on how freaked out Kris seems to be; she doesn't really react to what's going on as murder and doesn't directly reference that the monsters are being killed at all (closest she says is that you're "hunting everything down").I ran into the first and so far only kaizo trap of the Obliteration route. If you talk about what you did to Toriel Kris kills himself on the spot, prompting a Game Over and reloading your last save. There isn't an auto-save in the room before, so I've made a note to save often. I think I'm going to try and document best I can the points where you can abort the route or get a game over, even if it makes my playthrough a bit longer.
>>3989719Also, I don't think this is Obliteration exclusive but I just didn't backtrack all the way in my previous playthroughs, Frisk is unconscious at the flower bed after you fight Flowey. You and Susie don't help him, instead letting Toriel find him later
https://youtu.be/kXQhtqQz59EThe spritework is uncanny, especially for Clover, the writing is clunky (ESL?), and for some reason Ceroba is referred to in past tense (did she die?) Still, it's good to see normies still make UTY content and in particular throw Kanaclover a bone.It would have been really funny if during her fight Ceroba started spouting Japanese at you.>>3989719Thank you for your research, anon.
>>3989593those people were lying, multiple people have a problem with the humanfag who spams undertale fanart in deltarune threads
I'm going to compile all this stuff at the end of the section, but for now: if you try to exit Peaceful Rest Valley without genosliding all the enemies, the game tells you to keep going. The narrator, unlike in Undertale, actively wants you to stop genosliding
>>3989704>maybe ryno wouldve fucked up the ending by adding their deltarune plot predictionsDon't take it too seriously, it's a fangame. I'm just there for the cringekino.>to see rynogg destroy ut fans' perception of moral actions in games like tloz or mario and luigiThat's the point. More edge, more cringe, more cathartic >or destroy kanaclover's small popularity by making that one deltatraveler yellow projectIt'd be a different game you're talking about, but even though I prefer KanaClover myself, a DT take could've been "unique" in its own right. Still never cared much for DTY, so maybe I'm biased.
>>3989719Note, the kris suicide thing in section 1 is the only thing you actively need to worry about, the others are plain simple to avoid.Section 2: when susie chases after porky, only use iceshock to kill the two blue cultists, if you land a hit then you wont get the kris suicide scene, after you kill them, noelle will go mindbroken weird route mode and if you choose the three weird route-like options, kris will rip out their soul and command her to freeze you (basically traumatizing noelle by telling her to do assisted suicide and dooming their world to the roaring but that's morally ok apparently), then kris tells her to throw the soul as hard as she can against the wall on the other side of the room.Section 3: killing dogaressa and sparing dogamy makes susie command kris to rip out the soul and let her use it as a baseball ball, and while you could argue that them killing you because you made dogamy suffer by killing his gf makes sense, it is nonsensical in that theres the reasonable explanation of us feeling bad plus sparing him aborted the route so it's contradictory to their goals, not to mention that it implies that they believe it is much more morally better to kill the grieving husband whose wife you've killed than it is to let him go, plus why not do this for any of the other kills in section 3???Btw you should use iceshock on fell!sans, theres a cutscene for it and some dialogue changes later on, it is NOT SPOILING ANYTHING as it's on BOTH ROUTES so dw
>>3989728More edge is funny and all but i would rather not see serious online discussion and perception get shot in the foot for it
>>3989730Oh hey anon, I had a question. I recall you saying there was something in Section 3 that added detail to the "Toriel thinking Kris is Chara" thing but I think I missed it on both previous playthroughs. Could you tell me where it is?
>>3989725>spams undertale fanart in deltarune threadsYeah, I would rather trust those fellas I talked with than someone that uses this argument, sorry.
>>3989725How do we know YOU aren't the liar? Its 3+ vs 1.
>>3989726I have triumphed through Section 2 Obliteration and it was cringekino, smile on my face the entire time. When you talk to the Hint Man on Obliteration he tells you to start sparing enemies, and that he'll be here to give hints as long as you aren't able to draw blood. I backtracked as soon as I gained that ability and, despite nobody else evacuating, the Hint Man was gone. Very smart guy.Killing the Coil Snake is such a sudden jump into Ow The Edge that I just stood there for a minute, soaking it in. After the fight Susie shakes Kris like a polaroid camera screaming at him for doing that, and as edgy as the scene is I think this is a justifiable response; the fact that the enemy runs away in anything less than a full genoslide playthrough makes it clear that there was malice involved and you hit it way harder than in any other playthrough. I'm less charitable about Kris muttering "I can't control myself" (in red text) to her; the game is very inconsistent about how much control Kris has over his soul, even without the context of Chapters 3&4 making it a lot more relatively clear on when and how the player can control Kris and when and how Kris can act.
>>3989797After killing the Coil Snake you run into the first Blue Cultist. If you spare them Susie insinutates you're a racist, and then you have to explain away the bloody snake corpse in the cave.If you kill him you get smacked on the head with a frying pan, which gives Kris an actual concussion with mechanical consequence. Your AT and DF decrease by 6 and 3 respectively, and any turn Kris has a chance of being unable to attack when choosing FIGHT. You also lose all your gold paying the medical bills. In context of the entire route this feels like the first instance of the author actively punishing the player for continuing the route, but I think it's a great idea in isolation; if it were in a better game I would love putting a mechanical hindrance on the player for getting a concussion, caused by a sucker punch the player could have avoided by being less of a dick. It's only in context that you can see what the intent is.Also it shouldn't be surprising that Kris monologues about wanting to die while unconscious>My reward...>It's what I deserve.>For being unable to stop this.>...>Hopefully I won't wake up.Happy Happy Village is completely evacuated except for Carpainter, three cultists, and the medical staff. Even the cow abandons. At this point if you backtrack to Twoson, the bike NPC is replaced with the author's OC, a carbon copy of Toby Fox's annoying dog.
>>3989803A plot hole is introduced by the Obliteration Route; normally, Paula is unable to walk due to a leg injury that only gets healed after getting to Lilliput Steps. Kris has a concussion in this route and can't carry Paula, so she leaves on her own with no difficulty walking whatsoever. It's just an excuse to get rid of her before Kris starts genosliding, not a fan of it.I would have missed this if not for >>3989730's post and I'm so glad I didn't. There's an easter egg where, if you only attack with Ice Shock after Susie leaves the party (Paula would be here in a normal route but left), you get this scene. It's so goddamned bad, I love it. There's no purpose to it, there's no buildup to it when the actual Weird Route in Deltarune has a ton of buildup, and>We will eradicate them allis so CONFIDENTLY wrong an interpretation of the Weird Route that I feel like I could write several text limit posts about it, but that would get too much into actual Deltarune discussion. It's just amazing. When you genoslide Mr. Carpainter his last words are him begging you to "spare the children." Nothing particularly interesting happens if you abort the route from the start of the concussion up through Mondo Mole. Mondo Mole's dialogue is pretty funny too>You have done excellently to defeat me.>It is a shame that you murdered me.>Because now you will need to make a difficult decision.>...>I will let you find that out yourself.>Goodbye.I can't pass judgment on how accurate it is to Earthbound's writing style but I applaud the author for attempting to write outside their usual style, something they rarely do in this game.
>>3989811Lastly, there's the Ness and Paula fight, true goddamned edgekino. Ness shows up, calling you murderers and refuses to back down while Susie begs Kris to spare the children. You can, in fact, spare the children. Kris is able to convince Ness he doesn't have control over his actions, something Ness apparently empathizes with as a player character, and apologizes to Paula. If you spare them Ness says he'll blame the murders on Mondo Mole and tells you to leave now, which you do.Paula gets fully healed by Ness every turn, and Susie and Noelle will refuse to attack Paula outright, though they will attack Ness until Ness gets to low health. Actually fighting Ness is a lot less efficient than getting them to full mercy and betraying them, which kills Ness instantly; if you attack Paula Ness jumps in front of her and the cutscene plays out normally. The sheer edge of the phase transition is so good it has to be heard:https://files.catbox.moe/v0qecm.mp4I swear to fucking god man, I joked about Megalovania playing to a friend because of the Sans=Ness shit, only for Megalovania to ACTUALLY START PLAYING IN PHASE 2! It's euphoric.Susie and Noelle will continue not to fight, forcing you to damage Paula exclusively with Kris. You can use Red Buster once, but Susie will refuse the second time and attack Kris if you do it again. Fortunately Kris gets a new move called X-Slash that does massive damage (compared to his normal attack which does about 2% of her health). The fight is really hard, but fortunately you can still Dual Heal with Noelle so I managed to beat it on my second try.Paula drops her frying pan after the fight and you can pry it from her corpse before jumping into the door to end the section.Obliteration so far has been everything I wanted Deltatraveler to be, and I'm so looking forward to playing more of it.

Enemies collapsing into a puddle of blood, Susie calling you a racist for not killing an off-brand Klansman, the concussion, Kris arbitrarily killing himself, and it all being capped off by brutally murdering children. It's like a bad b-movie rolled into edgy fanfiction. Now I'm disappointed this game isn't continuing along its original iteration, because it's the perfect blend of good design decisions/branching paths and awful writing. we should probably try to make future threads more "contained" and less general fangamey, avoid unnecessary drama and shitflinging.
>>3990006the obliteration route version of this cutscene is slightly cornier (theres also a special comment from noelle if you abort the obliteration route on the first section 3 fight, where she says that she hoped that kris would jump off)

>>3990018>theres also a special comment from noelle if you abort the obliteration route on the first section 3 fightAdding "full aborted obliteration run" to my list of playthroughs...>>3989813It just hit me that Phase 1 of this fight makes no actual sense. If you attack Paula Ness heals her with PK Lifeup α, always restoring her to full HP no matter what. Ness then gets a turn after this, making it a free action. With that in mind, why doesn't Ness ever heal himself? Even at low health he won't do it. There's no simulated PP mechanic in the fight, he could just do it at the start of his turn with no downside.
>>3990063Eh, there isnt much of a difference in aborted obliteration that deserves a full aborted obliteration route, if anything you're better off seeing the aborted obliteration dialogue online after you're done>>3990063I heard that you were originally able to outdamage paula's heals and could kill her and get a different phase 2 where ness is like depressed and cant fight back so you beat him down then kris rips out the soul and kills it but ryno considered it unnecessary so they just hardcoded paula to always heal back up to max even if you could hypothetically oneshot her, i guess the idea is that ness cant just heal himself up forever or else he wont be able to attack, but i feel like he shouldve been able to use items, paula had a healing item as seen in the phase 1.5 cutscene (fun fact, the horn thingy is an item you cant get until you're further into the game, and its not like ryno is implying that ness took a detour and did things out of order because by the time ness can get that horn, ness wouldve already met the third party member

>>3990197>but that is still very much on the primitive end of Bronze age stuff.Eh, I remember someone doing an analysis on some of the spear designs seen in UT's opening and finding that the closest visual match to them actually came from the greeks, so that could mean the war happened around the time of ancient greece rather than the bronze age.
>>3990210The sword is a bigger indicator since it's clearly meant to be an European sword from the middle ages, the crossguard on that weapon can't be ignored, but I think Oldentale anon came to the conclusion the sword was looted from a monster or something since only that human uses a sword.
Now I'm thinking about the races of the Oldentale cast. First of all, they're all monsters with their own set of monster races, traditions, and racisms. But that aside, if I were to map them onto human races I guess I could do it with some of the major characters.First the easy ones Reynault is French. Kitsy and Darkblade are both Japanese. Next are the not so clear cut ones. Bill is some kind of North African or Haitian because of the Voodoo. But that could be any number of countries, most of which I couldn't point to on a map. Royce is some generalized Italo/Greco/Turkish Mediterranean. You could make him any of the three, but to split the difference, lets say Greek or Turk since the only thing that separates them is a border.Skully is a skull deer, which is a goofy version of the pop culture idea of wendigos. I suppose that could make him native American, but then most of that pop culture image actually comes from european pagan imagery being forced on native stuff. So he could be a Swede or Dane. Racter is in a weird spot. He dresses European, but those are military issue clothes. The birds are a formerly nomadic diaspora, so they come from all manner of different places. If I wanted to be funny I could take the nomad and diaspora thing and say Jewish, then make a joke about noses and beaks. But if I wanted to go with mythological influence, so far I've been taking from pre-muslim Arab and and native American stuff for them. Honestly I'm just stumped with him. Then there's Feumme. He's a sentient swamp gas with no cultural influence or mythological inspiration beyond plague doctors and medieval medicine. Honestly, I think the funniest option for him would be to have his human depiction still be wearing the plague doctor suit so you can't tell what he actually looks like.
>>3990206But Oldentale does not take place during the Renaissance.
>>3990215it does from the monsters' perspective, if we go from the technology they use
>>3990213>Racter is in a weird spot. He dresses European, but those are military issue clothes.I always assumed Racter was Spanish because of his armor.
>>3990210>so that could mean the war happened around the time of ancient greece rather than the bronze age. That is the bronze age, a lot of it anyways.>>3990212That's the real issue here, I want it to be in ancient pre-history for narrative purposes. Its fantasy, so I can just say that the technology was lost to time, and only rediscovered centuries later. Sort of like what Tolkein did, having his late Medieval fantasy story set before recorded history, with horses in cultures that wouldn't have had them (Rohan is literally what if the ancient Britons had horses).
>>3990218>That is the bronze age, a lot of it anyways.Less ancient than that.I'll see if I can grab the post with the guy's analysis, but that might take a sec.
>>3990216The monsters have schizo tech because of magic.
>>3990220I've seen Mycenaean spears that were roughly that leaf shape, and the Mycenaeans were rbonze age.
>>3990218So this is pretty much confirmation that Oldentale takes place somewhere in +3300 BC, 5000 thousand years before the events of Undertale, honestly that's a totally insane time period to chose, there's no way the Underground has existed for that long or that Asgore is that old, but I won't bother you with the logistics of Undertale, I'm going to sleep soon.
I need something emotional to read. Have there been any good fics lately that felt like they struck a good feeling? I really haven't been keeping up with ao3 lately but surely something other than "the day martlet got bonked and became a rapist" has come about.
>>3990224I mean Undertale treats the time since the war like a really long time too. I think the game just doesn't want you to think about it that hard.Anyways, I'm trying to leave things vague in the game, this is just more of a vibe I'm going for. Undertale is a fantasy world, so maybe human history is a lot more condensed. Or maybe its only these specific humans that were bronze age fighting the monsters, while everyone else was more advanced elsewhere. The only thing "canon" to Oldentale is that its been a long time. > there's no way the Underground has existed for that long or that Asgore is that old,I'm still curious why you think that wouldn't work though.
>>3990133Any feedback on this would be welcome. Like I'm still curious if the new partly colored line art style I'm trying is good, or if there were any major issues with the drawing.
>>3990117>how the /v/ specific community is for itYou mean what's left of the /v/ specific community. It used to be a thriving culture. My standing theory is that the people who ruined /qa/ made Touhou threads their new home; I'm not referring to sharty but rather the pre-sharty group that spammed /qa/ before sharty coalesced. I hesitate to use these words given how any UTY thread on /v/ gets accused of being a raid by that one annoying guy, but these guys are an ACTUAL raid group that I'm certain coordinates on Discord to flood any Touhou thread, or even a non-Touhou thread with a Touhou character as the OP image, with their Discord memes and call people mindbroken for telling them to fuck off
>>3990227it depends on what all you've already read anon
>>3990229I'm not the anon who requested this particular drawing, but I think it looks good. The colored lineart is visually pleasing, and it's also good for immediately telling the characters apart at a glance, aside from just their designs themselves.I don't have too much to say on it, but it is good.
>>3990232No issues with readability?
>>3990230well yeah I do mean the shambles that goes around now. I played a bit of the games back some 15 years or so ago and the community was "normal" in the way you could have called it normal. People bickering back and forth about the games and about secondaries since it's always been a fandom with a lot of secondaries who just go on about the music videos and all, But seeing how it goes now, everything you said is probably pretty accurate. It's kind of a shame to see.
>>3990229I'm a bit biased because I'm just happy to see my request done, but it looks nice. the last panel doesn't have much of a background and more of a suggested background but I don't think anyone really "needed" more than that you know? When I first saw the image and saw her vanish, It got me laughing before the final panel. I assume they care about eachother in some way, at least enough to not use real killing intent, which is why I requested it like that.
>>3990227>I need something emotional to read. I saw a pretty stomach-churning one about Starlo torturing Chujin by pulling his teeth out with pliers, that one wasn't fun.
>>3990233Nah, I think it works.I think the last panel suddenly having thicker "lines" is a bit of a shift, but it doesn't look bad.I dunno, it's good.I've gotta say, I'm mildly surprised I haven't seen you take a crack at Weaver's style, outside of that one image.
>>3990236>I saw a pretty stomach-churning one about Starlo torturing Chujin by pulling his teeth out with pliers, that one wasn't fun. Most wholesome UT fanfic written by a woman
>>3990231sorry that's fair. The only reason I haven't picked that up is because my soul hurts hearing that it's been on never ever update. I saw a pretty stomach-churning one about Starlo torturing Chujin by pulling his teeth out with pliers, that one wasn't fun.that's a very unpleasant sequence of words. Jesus fuck.
>>3990235>the last panel doesn't have much of a background and more of a suggested background but I don't think anyone really "needed" more than that you know? You can tell what's going on though, right? I do love comedically timed flash steps>I assume they care about eachother in some way, at least enough to not use real killing intentThey do both survive that exchange, despite throwing super bankai sword waves at each other, so clearly they didn't actually have much harmful intent behind those attacks.
>>3990238And that's not even talking about the ear-fucking that one had.It didn't kill Chujin, somehow, but it was described as being very not fun for him.
>>3990236>the author's still too busy writing their alien raceplay lesbian rape story.What?>. I saw a pretty stomach-churning one about Starlo torturing Chujin by pulling his teeth out with pliersWhy? What makes people think of this shit?
>>3990240>You can tell what's going on though, right? Its meant to be them having a city leveling anime battle. That;s what I was attempting to convey at least.I got the impression that I was too assume there would be collateral damage in the fight, but I figured the exacts of the surroundings in the last panel weren't all too important.I liked the way their energy waves took on notably different forms. It put a smile on my face seeing this one done.
>>3990237>I'm mildly surprised I haven't seen you take a crack at Weaver's style, outside of that one image.I could, but I don't like drawing on a white background. Causes a lot of eye strain.>>3990239So do you just really enjoy reading fucked up weirdo wankfics for fetishes you don't have?
>>3990239>The only reason I haven't picked that up is because my soul hurts hearing that it's been on never ever update.Eh, it's only been on hiatus for about 8 months, and the author did say the last bit might be a long one, so maybe they're still working on it, just infrequently.>Maybe I'll pull it up, I've got no more energy to write and I want to feel.It was good, albeit with some issues here and there. Mostly minor ones though, I'd say it's pretty alright.>I want to feel.WHAT I THOUGHT WAS NEVER REAL, I WANNA LET GO OF THE PAIN I'VE HELD SO LONG>that's a very unpleasant sequence of words. Jesus fuck. The story itself was a much less pleasant sequence of words, if you can believe it.
>>3990242>What?Did I stutter?I said the author's been busy writing an alien raceplay lesbian rape story, what about that didn't register?>Why? What makes people think of this shit?I dunno, maybe they had a bad time at the dentist once and felt like taking it out on Chujin.Or maybe a good time, from their perspective.
>>3990244>I could, but I don't like drawing on a white background. Causes a lot of eye strain.Fair, but I feel like you could get around that by just making the background a darker color while you're working on the image, and then making it white once you're done with the actual drawing part.
>>3990241golly, this is probably the exact opposite of what I'm looking to feel. That's ALSO an unfortunate sequence of words.>So do you just really enjoy reading fucked up weirdo wankfics for fetishes you don't have?what? no, I avoid things that I spot having tags for certain things, or if the first impression of the writing sets off my "something is wrong" senses. Sometimes I'll step outside of that like someone linking something here that is just absurd.Maybe I misworded things a little
>>3990243>I got the impression that I was too assume there would be collateral damage in the fight, but I figured the exacts of the surroundings in the last panel weren't all too important.I was in kind of a rush to finish so I got lazy at the end. I wanted to finish before the thread was over and I had been working on it all day. I think that may be the longest I've worked on a single drawing.>I liked the way their energy waves took on notably different forms.Yeah, bullet patterns are a very personal thing in Undertale, so every monster tends to have unique attacks which reflect their personality. Then there's the added thing of them both having special magic weapons that would influence their attacks (good on you if you can guess what Kitsy's is from that tiny mass of pixels in the last panel). And then on top of that there's the heavy Bleach infleunce on Darkblade's character, and in that show every character has their own unique attacks that reflect their personality. Darkblade's is based on Ichigo's loud, direct, and to the point Getsuga Tensho.
>>3990248ah sorry, the second part of that was for >>3990244
>>3990248>golly, this is probably the exact opposite of what I'm looking to feel. That's ALSO an unfortunate sequence of words.Very unfortunate things happened to Chujin in that fic.You know, for as many fucked-up depictions of Chujin there are, I think he's usually somehow not as bad as Starlo ends up being sometimes.I once clicked on a story that had Starlo doing something so terrible to Clover, that I actually felt the need to go throw up, it was that bad.It somehow made even One size too small look tame by comparison, I'm not joking.
>>3990247>and then making it white once you're done with the actual drawing part. But then it'll end up looking weird. Things have to be drawn on a white background to look right on them.>>3990246>Or maybe a good time, from their perspective.Like Jack Nicholson in Little Shop of Horrors
>>3990252>But then it'll end up looking weird. Things have to be drawn on a white background to look right on them.I don't think I agree with that, but I also don't feel like starting an argument over that.>Like Jack Nicholson in Little Shop of HorrorsNever seen it, but I'll assume something bad happens relating to teeth in that.
>>3990250I read "gotta love" and thought you meant you actually enjoyed reading those things. So you didn't enjoy the Martlet rape fic?
>>3990249>I think that may be the longest I've worked on a single drawing.Im honored then, thank you for finishing the image>Yeah, bullet patterns are a very personal thing in Undertale, so every monster tends to have unique attacks which reflect their personality. Then there's the added thing of them both having special magic weapons that would influence their attacksI don't know how to quite say this but, even though the fandom seems to like to acknowledge this, it feels like a fact that most people don't know what to do with? I don't know, maybe it's that it's underutilized even though people do make OC sheets that show what the characters bullets should look like, they don't actually express what it looks like 'in action'
tfw martlet gets the evil ass rape concussion
>>3990257It's okay, she got her comeuppance when Chujin came back just after the rape concussion wore off to rape her right back. And also she got fired from the royal guard.Justice.
>>3990254>I don't think I agree with that, but I also don't feel like starting an argument over that.Well when I try it, it comes out weird. Maybe you have a much easier time with it.>Never seen it,You should, I'm talking about the original black and white one.>but I'll assume something bad happens relating to teeth in that. There's a scene where the MC murders his dentist (who's a sadistic nutjob), then another patient walks in and he has to pretend to be the dentist to conceal the body. The patient, played by Jack, is a masochist who gets off on the pain and he makes the MC pull a bunch of his teeth out while yelping and moaning. Then thanks him for the great service and walks out with a three tooth smile.
>>3990255it was entertaining conceptually that such a thing existed, and I'm made from sterner stuff than to be wracked with suffering over reading that, but I remember the way she just seemed resigned to it at the end was unpleasant. It was a mildly unpleasant fever dream that I probably would have skipped over, but curiousity from the discussion in the thread lit the way.The way she just told chujin "you can leave" after she raped him.what the fuck
>>3990259>Well when I try it, it comes out weird. Maybe you have a much easier time with it.I dunno, Weaver typically draws with black lines for the most part, so I don't really think it changes much when making the background a different color.I usually do those style of images in MSPaint though, so maybe it depends on your program or something.>You should, I'm talking about the original black and white one.Alright, I'll try and get to it I suppose.>he makes the MC pull a bunch of his teeth out while yelping and moaning. Then thanks him for the great service and walks out with a three tooth smile.Ah.Don't like that.
>>3990256>it feels like a fact that most people don't know what to do with?>they don't actually express what it looks like 'in action'Well, being a game dev, I have to think about these things. So I have thought about what patterns each character would have and how it reflects them as a character.Anyways, I'd suggest that those people go watch Bleach and JoJo, since those are both great examples of power systems that reflect the user's personality. Bleach and its spirit energy actually parallel the magic in UT in some interesting ways.
>>3990251you know, before mousing over the spoiler, I tried to think of what might be underneath it. Seems I had blocked that one out from my memory.I try to play it on the safe side because sometimes I feel like people aren't even going to tag things that are terrible, but yes I've noticed that there are some nightmarish descriptions involving Starlo and also Ace.
>>3990260NTA, but honestly, I just feel bad for Chujin in that fic. Before he comes back at the end, anyway.First he gets raped, then there's the text implying Ceroba's gonna find out and probably assume he's cheating, it's just a bad day for him overall.I guess he came back to rape her after he went home and had some negative encounter with Ceroba, I can only assume.
>>3990265>mplying Ceroba's gonna find out and probably assume he's cheating, ahhh fuck. I forgot about that as well. That just makes me feel worse about it. Sense of smell and all that. But then he just shows up to continue the circle of rape! And also Martlet lost her job!I like my porn to have plot but why is THIS plot in the porn?
>>3990263>I try to play it on the safe side because sometimes I feel like people aren't even going to tag things that are terribleHonestly, it was my fault. The fic I'm talking about *was* tagged, albeit a bit vaguely, I guess I just had to see it for myself. At least I didn't see all of it. The fic apparently made use of some ability to embed images into AO3 fics, but through what I can only assume was divine intervention, not one of the images loaded, sparing me from something I can only assume would've haunted me for the rest of my days.>but yes I've noticed that there are some nightmarish descriptions involving Starlo and also Ace."Nightmarish" doesn't begin to describe what I read.

I could lower it, but then I'd be stuck with a slow mouse for everything else.>Ah.>Don't like that. The scene was hilarious, and that's coming from a person who's a complete wimp about this sort of stuff. >>3990321Zenith Martlet is more like Starlight desu.Ceroba is more like Homelander, considering her story is literally "it's all about me me me," and the devs just making her an op ordinary monster for no reason.
going back and rereading some of cover up the footprints, and on chapter 4 Martlet writes a letter with a lot of strikethrough used for when she marked things out on the letter showing how she was scatter brained as she wrote it, but in a kind of grounded way.it's a mostly Roba focused fic, but I thought that was a nice angle on the bird. It feels kind of creative just in the kinds of mistakes that she made in the letter.
>>3990323I dunno, I think Homelander and Zartlet's death scenes were pretty similar.
Moral choices
>>3990326That is maybe the one good joke this game has to offer.
>>3990325Zenith Martlet is actually fighting for a legitimately good reason, nor is she a narcissistic arrogant dickhead the thinks she's above everyone else.At the end of the day Zartlet is still just Martlet, and I can't imagine her not being afraid to die, even if she's doing something where she knows death is a possibility.

>>3990328Oh, to be clear, I am currently taking the piss, I am not attempting to make a serious statement about her character with this, I am making a joke.I do have problems with Martlet's character as she's shown in UTY, but it's nothing I haven't already talked about or that I feel like starting an argument at three in the morning over.

>>3990325This is how the fight with Clover and Zenith Martlet actually ended.

It was a cute little slice-of-life.that's good to hear. I just came up with an extremely stupid joke. You know what you call a Wiki watersports image?[picrel].

Oh, hey, to the librarby anon, shouldn't that one short "polynesian sex" Wiki/Anon green be saved in the green room?I couldn't see it anywhere, and I figured it should be saved, since it was really good. Also, I had to look through a few different files to find this one, and I saw that one written at me about Wiki falling asleep crying after anon gets scared from reading about her history, and man.I still feel bad for her, even now.Sigh.
I have concluded my Section 3 Obliteration route.>>3990018Sadly it seems the v3.0.1 build of the game doesn't seem to have a unique Obliteration Route scene. By pure freak luck I ran into that cutscene on my first playthrough the first time I walked through there and didn't know it was a rare event, but it took me about 25 tries to get it on Aborted Obliteration (so I could capture this edgekino), but I walked through it literally hundreds of times after Noelle left the party and got nothing. I did read the dialogue on the wiki, and I'm half-tempted to play through the game YET AGAIN on the current build to see all the changes now. Somebody please save me from myself I can't keep doing thisIf you kill Snowy Noelle, justifiably, freaks out ten times harder than killing Snowy on a normal route and runs off, Susie chasing her. You have to genoslide all the monsters by yourself for a while.
>>3990376Here's the other bit of removed Edgy Noelle dialogue from this version of the game. As hilarious as it is out of context I think it's one of the less egregious swears in the game, given the intense trauma Noelle just went through. She hates Kris's guts for what he did (not yet knowing about the player) and doesn't want to be anywhere near him, but is forced to because Papyrus won't let her move on without Kris solving his puzzle.Susie will still protect you from Sans's letter pipe bomb, but if you inspect the letter after Susie moves forward again and you're alone you get an exclusive interaction where there's an actual letter inside the envelope saying "I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE" in all caps and no punctuation. This is not expounded upon anywhere else in the route.Inspecting the save point before entering the Forest of Wild Beasts, where the Feraldrakes are, has the flavor text>You felt an urge to climb down the ladder *right now*. (yellow text within asterisks)Doing so aborts the route as Susie pushes you forward and the monsters evacuate by the time you can go back.
(fuck, I'm making a lot of grammar mistakes, I'm tired)>>3990377There are two versions of Kris's nightmare, one for an ongoing Obliteration route and one for an abandoned route. Kris doesn't fantasize about killing himself in either version, unlike the normal nightmare. This dialogue doesn't seem to be archived on the wiki so I'm just going to type the whole thing.>What is wrong with me?>Why [couldn't/can't] I stop killing people?>This demon inside of me that [kept/keeps] the slaughter going...Abandoned-only:>Sure, it spared a few victims, but...>We killed children.>I can't imagine what Susie would say about this.>Will she think of me as anything other than a freak?>Because that's what I am.>A freak with a high body count, regardless of who I spared.Full route-only:>It doesn't care about me.>It doesn't care about my friends or anyone else.>It just wants to see everything around me suffer.>How does Susie think of me now?>Does she think I'm a freak?>A horrible person.>Because that's what I am.>I can't stop killing.>As hard as I try, I can't stop. Both:>All of my friend will abandon me.>I will die alone.>Surrounded by blood.>And I will never be shown forgiveness.>Never.>Never.>Never.>Never...After the abandoned nightmare, Susie goes over everyone you've killed so far but says they'll never see any of these places again and wants to just move on. A notable thing is that this is the only version of the cutscene where Susie offers a hug; in a normal route Kris lunges into Susie's arms in this scene. Here's the full confrontation in Obliteration (too long for 4chan even without sound):https://files.catbox.moe/s3xnhz.mp4I honestly like it a lot, seeing Susie break down because of Kris's emotional state. This game doesn't do Susie well that often but I enjoyed this sappy stuff here. I do wish there was a hug in this one while both characters were breaking down, it would have hit harder than in any other run.
>>3990380>>3990327You'll be pleased to know there's a second funny jokes relating to the Dogi. If you provoke them into fighting (impossible outside Obliteration), the fight is a 1:1 identical copy of Undertale's fight. If you spare them, in an identical fashion to Undertale's, Susie asks if you did the whole route just so you could dodge their attacks, and breaks the fourth wall telling you that, instead of killing two children to get that fight, you could have paid $10 to do that. Now for the part people want to see: killing Dogaressa and sparing Dogamy is a nonstandard game over. Even Kris questions aloud whether this warrants killing himself, but ultimately obliges. Susie's logic is questionable but I respect the brazenness of itWith sound:https://files.catbox.moe/umq3hj.mp4
>>3990384I haven't mentioned this and I will eventually post a picture of Kris's portrait when I have no webms to post, but Kris gains the "Deceitful" status effect after telling Susie and Noelle about the soul. The game "helpfully" tells you that new ACTs are available. For the rest of the route, picking Red Buster, which is normally not available in regular encounters, will instantly kill the player, yet another kaizo trap. After the soul talk, the party mostly behaves like they do in a normal playthrough, no angst to be found. They are now united against the player and have stopped blaming Kris for his actions, though they do beg Kris to fight the player's influence in instances like killing the Dogi. I'm mostly disappointed that we don't get much edgy dialogue like we did in Section 2, but the game makes up for it with the BEST writing of any part of any route.Lesser Dog is a completely optional encounter, even in a normal run. You can walk right past the sentry station, because Lesser Dog is timid and afraid. In an Obliteration Route, walking up to the station and initiating a battle causes Susie to physically lift Kris and carry him to the next room.Attempting to walk back will trigger a number of dialogue boxes where Susie, and then Noelle, tries to coax Kris (really the player) into just letting the dog be, before giving up and letting Kris kill the damn dog. Noelle refuses to even enter the room with you. It is by far the most Toby-like moment in the game, and I'm not talking about it.Sound:https://files.catbox.moe/ole0fk.mp4
Here's Kris's "Deceitful" portrait by the way. Every frame's a painting.>>3990387Upon killing Lesser Dog, Susie decides she wants to force a game over, but doesn't know what she can do within the battle UI. She unconsciously throws a pretty difficult magic attack at the player, realizes what she did, makes a mental note of it for later, and then spares the soul. This is where I discover, to my delight, that there are TWO variants of Obliteration. You can spare Susie without aborting the route. You can also attack her, bringing her HP to zero but not actually killing her for unknown metaphysical reasons. You get dialogue afterward for doing this, and picking anything but the most edgy option will keep the route intact, no consequences. However, if you tell Susie to shut up, and then tell her "I want you dead," she decides she's had enough of the player's actions, tells them they made a mistake saying the quiet part out loud, and announces she's done. From this point on, seemingly permanently, Susie has the "Devious" status effect and has a random chance of intentionally fucking up the orders you give her. For my playthrough this consisted of attacking herself when FIGHTing, and making Rude Buster miss on purpose. According to the wiki she can also use a healing item on the enemy. This is an entirely self-inflicted wound the player can choose of their own volition. It's 100% optional and the only thing is does is cause more suffering for both the player and the characters. It's not Toby-like, but I love it and I wish there was more shit like this in this game that didn't lead to an instant game over. It feels fresh.Video of the Susie fight and aftermath (too long for 4chan):https://files.catbox.moe/bvfuy0.mp4
>>3990390Lastly, Sans doesn't have a unique cutscene for sparing him in Obliteration in v3.0.1, though there apparently is one post-rewrite. If you kill Sans normally you don't get any special Obliteration cutscene either, probably because the regular ending has little player input. You CAN, however, kill Sans with IceShock for a completely unique ending (I thank >>3989730 for telling me about this). The standard Obliteration IceShock ending is almost identical to the normal route IceShock ending according to the wiki, but if Susie is Devious you get a full crashout that culminates in Susie throwing away her weapon and refusing to accept any other from the player. I again adore this, and I suspect that further sections of Deltatraveler would have some eventual story branch between regular Obliteration and Devious Obliteration as Susie's noncompliance continues to build up.With sound:https://files.catbox.moe/tuov1p.mp4As far as I can tell not a single thing post-Sans is different in Obliteration, at least in v3.0.1. I feel like the aura of undiluted edge has disappeared with Kris uniting Susie and Noelle against the player, but I'm sure there would have been plenty of edgy moments had this game not entered development hell with the entire script getting replaced. All in all I can say I greatly enjoyed my time with the Obliteration Route, even if not necessarily for the reasons the author wanted me to enjoy it, and I came away having some unironic praise for bits and pieces of it in isolation.I'll play through Hard Mode soon and hopefully I won't have nearly as much to say about it as Obliteration so I don't flood the thread as much, but I hope my write-up of Obliteration was enlightening.
>>3990134Guess the janny felt like he had look "fair"
>>3990391I'm definitely being a sperg about this but Susie is not the type to go "HMM???"
>>3990123I greatly appreciate the feedback, and thank you for reposting. I tend to have some difficulty keeping up with the weekly threads, as weekends are pretty busy for me and I rarely have the opportunity to check my phone or laptop. It's a huge relief that the emotional core is intact, as I couldn't be certain whether or not I had progressed the conversations organically or produced an arbitrary list of topics to advance. The breakroom dialogue scene was the most difficult scene of that type that I've written.>CerobaI've been keeping a sharp eye out for opportunities to bond the two, especially after getting them off to a more antagonistic start. I also felt like baseline UTY was rather thin in this regard, where Ceroba comes to like Clover seemingly from prolonged exposure, but they can't have been inside the Steamworks for /that long./ The part where Ceroba wrangles her temper when Clover tugs on her sleeve is sweet, but with the surrounding context, it didn't feel earned to me.>StarloI felt a bit bad about skipping the meat of his character conflict in the Wild East, so I was pleased to find a way to incorporate it here.>GuardenerUnfortunate to hear that there's clunk, but I'm glad it didn't break the scene completely. I'm keen to fix the issue, but I think I may have some authorial blindness here, as I have re-read the section but everything seems to function. Can you point to the sections where things got clunky?>Feisty FourI enjoy them, and trying to give them some extra dimension where I can. Mooch and Ed are definitely my preferred half, but I try to portray Moray as the emotional core of the team and give Ace some opportunities to emote.>I have no idea how it's actually going to turn out, compared to my expectations when first starting the story.I'm curious how you expected things to progress. I have some more authorial blindness here, as I've had the big beats planned for a long while now.
