Witcherbros, we eating good

Snoy, too or only mustard?

Jarvis, give me a rundown on the demographics of the current development teams compared to that of the base game and earlier DLC. Cross-reference changes to any DEI policies
>>
>>3990808
Eating shit isn't eating good.
It will be prophetic in predicting the magnitude of shit-storm called Witcher 4 though.
I would prefer they refrain from raping Witcher 3 at all, in fact. Even if W3 is a casual adventure slop, it had its moments. But neither of those moments involved post fog island Ciri that this DLC will surely have more of.
>>
>>3990808
Hearts dlc at least fleshed out map a bit, Blood and Wine was just a separate adventure.

It would be perfect if this dlc arrived with some update to fix a lot of W3, while actual dlc expanded on cut content or stuff that is blatantly missing. Iorveth, that plague subplot, Saskia, Siegfried, that good Witcher hunter all of this in particular could show up. Maybe they could try to fix the absolute retardation of political plots too and pacing and quality of a later part of main game.

I hate everything related to leveling and equipment and RPG mechanics like this, but that's unfixable without overhauling game completely.

But most likely it will just some separate adventure to tie it to Witcher 4 and instead of fixing and improving W3, it has a huge chance of fucking it up.

A prequel to Witcher 4, surely. Why would they not use this as a connector to the next game?
>>
>>3992338
Likely both, if it is before everyone gets scattered at the end of the books/beginning of the games they'll have Ciri around in a way that doesn't require them to write around W3's endings
way easier to set up next stuff

bought W3 at release and just never got around to playing it. any "must have" mods I need or any tips before diving in?
>>
>>3993302
Just dive in. The only mod I would personally recommend is the “red skull mod” as there’s a mechanic where, if an enemy is +N levels higher than you, in addition to its stats being much better than yours, it also arbitrarily does 10x damage to you and you do 0.1x damage to it, which sucks and takes away the ability to defeat a higher level enemy through skill.
>>
>>3993311
Level locking areas and quests is one thing but level locking combat encounters is retarded. Pissed me off so much during my first playthrough because I was taking harder quests and grinding monster encounters early to level up faster but was coming against this dogshit mechanic.
>>
>>3993311
checked. thanks. is this the one? I can't seem to find a version of it for the latest build of the game. https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/6371
>>
>>3993314
Yes. Also to add to this, be aware that the game is scaled such speedrunning the main quest gives you tons of XP. If you are a completionist and do tons of side questing, you will inevitably end up overleveled.
>>
>>3990808
>AI picture
Look at sword and end of scabbard.
It's going to be gay and a retcon installment to justify and "explain" the retardation that will be Witcher 4.
>>
>>3992346
Writing around things isn't how CD Projekt handled the previous Witcher games. Regardless of your individual choices, they decided on a canon.

devs claim it's RPG
>>
>>3993338
>Or you fall into the Bioware trap
There was no trap. They simply didn't deliver.
>>
>>3993414
Because the higher level enemy already has higher defense, HP, damage, owing to its higher level. That is to be expected from RPG mechanics. Then, in addition to those statistical advantages, the devs also added an utterly arbitrary scaling factor of 10x incoming damage/ 0.1x outgoing damage that only applies when there is a sufficient level difference. That part is silly and arbitrary.

I was thinking how can people still play DLC's for games that were released many years ago, do they just install and replaythe game all over again every time a new DLC comes out?

Then I remember the board is full of normies who actually >buy each and every single one of their games, probably from Steam, where they have a collection of only a few games at a time at best due to their busy lives, and where they probably retain the save files of every game they ever played before just reinstalling them with their purchased game license to pick up where they left.

Ciri was a co-protagonist in Witcher 3.
In fact she was arguably the main protagonist, since she is literally tasked with saving the world, off-screen, without Geralt's help.

my only problem with this is that i would have to play through the whole game again just so i know whats going on, and i've done that several times already. kind of just done with witcher 3. would have been cool a few years ago when i actually cared about the game.

Anons I'm about to finally play W3 after finishing both W1 and W2. Coming hyped and planning to mess with this game for many months, like a I did with Skyrim.

Question: Any absolutely necessary mods you guys recomment for a mostly vanilla playthrough? Can be anything from fixes, to the Gwent minigame to coomer mods.
>>
>>4037074
>Question: Any absolutely necessary mods you guys recomment for a mostly vanilla playthrough?
Only one. The “red skull mod”, forget the name. By default, a monster that is more than 5 or so levels above you is marked with a red skull to indicate you should probably fuck off and come back later unless you’re a badass, which is fine. However, the devs also applied a completely arbitrary and retarded modifier that means they do 1000% damage to you, and you do 10% damage to them, in addition to the other statistical advantages the enemy has due to being higher level than you. Really sucks, and reduces the chances that you can defeat a tough enemy through skill.
>>
>>4037211
Also play on death march. It’ll be hard for the first ten levels or so then get easier as your build comes online. Otherwise, on lower difficulties the beginning will feel appropriate and then the game will be too easy.
>>
>>3993434
Change my mind
Witcher 3 should never have had that kind of levelling in the first place. It makes no sense and is immersion breaking that geralt, 100 year old seasoned witcher who just got through two games of levelling up (you can play that off as regaining his skills after amnesia) now becomes more powerful by orders of magnitude in a span of weeks, merely with witcher stuff. It MAKES NO SENSE.
Instead, progression should have been handled indirectly (a bit like in the stalker games). Yennefer, the other sorceresses would give you magical doodads that give you specific perks (like the lamp of ghost seeing, or the useless xenovox). Discovering witcher armors and swords. Enchanting gear would be a major event, costing a lot of gold or tied to story progressions. Special, one time, lore friendly upgrades (like the laboratory in blood and wine). Be fucking creative. And let us kill any monster at level 1 if we have the skill. Almost all witcher contracts are just "been there, done that" for geralt, he should be able to do them from the start. You can make the upgrades necessary for the main quest or special tasks (like, again, the thing with the ghost lamp) so they're still useful.

I'm somewhat open to ciri being the protagonist from a story perspective, but let's be frank here: CDPR is woke. Was since the witcher3 at least, they just hid it behind boobs and masculine power fantasies. You play a pseudofeminist who defers to superior magical women, but you get to fuck some of them and they like it so there's that. If they let their woke show in a game with a female protagonist, they won't show boobs and they won't give men their place in the sun. It'll just be the same old girl power tripe that has already turned fans from so many franchises. Maybe they'll do it more subtle than hollywood does. There's even a small chance they'll keep it enjoyable for men. But they're walking a fine line if they'll even try.
>>
>>3990808
WITCHER 3 REMASTERED IS COMING BROS
>>
>>4066765
they are doing it again
>>
>>4032292
>she's a co-protagonist.
Okay, true enough for books and W3.
>fulfils Ithlinne's prophecy
This was a retcon/artistic choice by CDPR, the reason Ciri was pursued in the books was mainly to get her pregnant. Her child supposedly would've become this giga ubermensch. The white frost in the books was treated as a natural event, an inevitability. CDPR shifted the focus on Ciri because as great as W1 and 2 were, they wrote themselves in a corner by ignoring Ciri and Yen for 2 whole games.

This is also why W3 feels so disorganized if you aren't a W3 fan only. CDPR, besides some hints they dropped in the W1 about Ciri, barely knew how to wrap it up. I also think Ciri was softened greatly in W3, but I suppose you could argue she just matured since the ending of Lady of the Lake.

>>4066761
Exactly anon. W3 had great character dynamics, but so did W1 and 2. Even if W1 ignores Ciri's plot, I honestly think its the best written game in the franchise.
>>
>>4067063
>Even if W1 ignores Ciri's plot
Alvin is not-Ciri and W1 is not-Yennefer
>>
>>4067089
Sure, they borrowed heavily from the main saga for W1. Doesn't change the fact that Ciri and Yen got shafted for 2 games.
>>
>>4067107
Pretty sure Yenn only got shafted for one game, and then Ciri only if you’re a degenerate with mods
>>
>>4067108

CDPR is on a whole different level. The expansion looks top tier, their art design team is just among the best.

Talent wins

I would have agreed before CP2077, takes more than modelling to make a good rpg.
It's both a mid shooter and a mid rpg. So pretty bad versus all that promised potential.

I don't see a new team beating blood and wine either.

Blood of the Dawnwalker has a good chance of making them them all look like crap, I have a feeling they inherited the best CDPR guys. On fresh story territory that hasn't been ceded to wokoids and drunk polish simps too.

It will be as woke as any other game. At best, it will be subtle about it.
Regardless, I'm excited enough about it, that I might even consider to torrent it as soon as a release appears (instead of buying it for 10$ five years alter).
>>
>>4037373
Exactly. Even at story level, level locking of areas was retarded, especially in view of how BOTW handled the thing by putting everything in flashbacks to allow the player to go wherever he wants. With a character like Ciri, who moves through time as she wishes, they had the perfect tool to let the player go through the map and the story (until the reunion) in any order by changing on the fly some elements of the ciri storyline.

Each country has its own 'thing' and implementation of it (sometimes it is distributed and granted by government, other times - non-profit orgs), but the money comes from EU and the strings attached to it is - inclusion of progressive agenda (degree of it varies).

I haven't seen anything that would say that Rebel Wolves claimed such gibs as far as I know.

Regardless, most basedllenials are progressive feminists by default, so you never know for sure if it's gibs and just them unless it's publicly traded company with public financial reports.

The project assumes the development of an innovative system that allows for changing the way games are created by implementing a flexible production process enabling the simultaneous development of products within at least two AAA, RPG class projects.

Well, the relevant point is that CDPR really do pull A LOT of external funding and are submit annual ESG reports to prove they qualify.
