Fucking Crystal Project 2
the one mecha game with cell shading looks pretty decent but games that have that high graphic fidelity on low budgets are generally really contrained

Indie Jarpigs (and others) I have played and my thoughts on them:
>Crystal Project
Fine. The exploration really stole the show and the aggro-based combat was interesting, at least. There was no story worth critiquing, which puts it above several others in the list. I am interested in the sequel.
Worth playing? If you're a big job system guy.
>Chained Echoes
A few interesting ideas (the overdrive[?] meter, the achievement-based levels) combined with dogshit systems (whatever the fucking the gems were). Same exact bit goes for the story, though it weighed much heavier on the shit side.
Worth playing? If you're really jonesing for something, I guess.
>Sea of Stars
It's just so fucking boring. Echoes is a slog but at least the story is a trainwreck in motion. This is JUST a slog which is so much worse.
Worth playing? Fuck no.
>Monster Sanctuary
I just really got into the team building aspect of this one. One of the only monster collectors I've really gotten into outside of the big two. I liked the metroidvania half of the game, that definitely helped.
Worth playing? If you like monster collectors.
>Dream Tactics
Strategy, but a small party one. It's a card-based game so if you hate that, ignore it. If you don't mind that, I found it quite enjoyable. Just wish you could have a bigger party, more than anything.
Worth playing? As long as you can stomach cards.
>Cosmic Star Heroine
Genuinely forgot this one which is unfortunate because it's pretty well polished. Loved the devs earlier games (Breath of Death, Cthulu Saves the World) and this one I enjoyed all the same.
Worth playing? Definitely.
>Secrets of Grindea
Ending with an action RPG. I think I loved this game, genuinely. My biggest qualm is the (true) final boss falls into the 'early access overtuning' trap, if you catch my meaning. Otherwise, the moment to moment gameplay kept me around enough to actually get to that true final boss.
Worth playing? For sure, yeah.
Thanks for reading my blog.

Looking forward to:
>Thermocline
Horror with jarpig combat is crazy rare and the spritework looks good so looking forward to it
>Full Circle
On one hand i get a jrpg with good looking combat but on the other hand character potraits are all AIslop and current playable demo is bugfest. Likely skipping this but small part of me still thinks full release going to be okay
>Lie of Caelum
Waifus and mechas in jrpg so insta-wishlist please be good
>Stratagem Lost
Artstyle looks interesting but part of me predicts tumblr crap content, gonna try the demo later
>Cardaire Eternal Aces
Played the first game when i was bored it was meh but also a something that might be good with a sequel
>The Grey Elegy
Looks good i just hope its not like I Am Setsuna where almost entire game is basicly snowfield

It's decent for what it is. I don't really care about AI portraits. The main downside is how short it is. Sort of starts to get interesting and then it just ends. Also really weird that almost all sound effects are missing. I think they're working on that though.

No thx, bro.

>Secrets of Grindea
>seeds of nostalgia
The names alone are shit. Apparently a retro jrpg without the nostalgia or grind is too much asked for. We just don't have the tech.

Saw that yesterday, looks like a clone of fnh. What's a corpse planet?

I've been enjoying the hell out of Chained Echoes so far but I'm only like ten hours in.
