Dorothy looks more like a cougar which is appropriate I guess.

That would make sense since Red and Node canonically met before BS2 and the BS1 girls could appear in flashbacks but I have no idea why Bill would be there too.

Grimm has spiky, push backward, hair.

It's not that need bro, it's staring in your face.
>>
>>3994890
those are a few select examples of a similar thing, and even they aren't entirely consistent
even in the daughter sister mother scenes the haircut's always slightly different, I'd dump it too if not for the fact i don't want a vacation rn.
>>

*Correction: only sister/mother has scenes where the hair is visible
anyways, as one example, here the hair more straight from the back.
>>
File: 1711971079152782.png (5 KB, 481x355)
5 KB PNG
as for the scenes, the length is inconsistent.
the mother scene the hair i shorter and less messy, while the sister scene its a bit longer and more anime-like (as best as i can describe)
and if you consider hunter/mage to be his cannon appearance, that means it would also be long, which would contradict all the other haircuts.

but anyways, im not interested in getting autistic over that "Schrodinger's haircut"
>>
>Schrodinger's haircut:
>its long short spiky straight and pushed back until the Cheshire box is opened
>>
>>3994894
Not really, I wouldn't say it's always consistent, but what is consistent is this: It's always pushed backward, and spiky.
You can just cut it to only show the good part you know?

Toro confirmed in a QnA that Hein and Lindamea have no confirmed gender, which is easier to get across with Japanese pronouns. For Lindamea it's just that we don't know what's beneath the armour but Hein being based on the German personification of death he probably has no biological sex or gender.

Like 70% of the BS1 summons suck ass gameplay wise and that probably goes up to 100% if you're either doing a SL1 (because you can't waste turns) or know what you're doing (because you can kill anything too fast for them to matter). The appeal is mainly in their personality and in fight dialogues, as well as some character specific scenes.
That said her ult is actually pretty good (assuming it works as intended), you just don't really get a proper explanation of what it does.
>>

Also when I was checking the wiki I also looked at her unique dialogue interactions. This one is relevant to a discussion people had ITT a while ago about whether Mary created the Trial in Elysium or Shub did it in the world outside:

Regarding gameplay, there isn't a lot of fighting or grinding at all. It mainly consists of doing quests where you're fetching stuff, performing medical examinations and treating patients, and progressing the relationships you have with the heroines. The story and the characters are quite fun so far.

>Mary created the Trial in Elysium or Shub did it in the world outside
I happen to remember this one, but didn't get to join in since I was still lurking. I think the initial question was figured out, but a point of confusion is how Ability to Change functions. In the context of BS1, all heroines created by Mary has a fairytale. Miranda has no fairytale, so it's very unlikely she is a Mary heroine.
>Victoria
Maid Victoria is pretty clearly a failure, since the real Victoria's soul is still alive. Heroines created from Mary all feature a fairytale alongside a soul, we see this through the Demonic Princess of Thorns, and to an extent Chick/Goose with two different fairytales and one soul. I don't think this means every Mary creation has a fairytale, rather it means she can mold souls fully into something else with Ability to Change. Other niggermen, like TCO, instead create copies like tea party Alice and Alice Liddell. My interpretation is that Grimm is referred to as the Magnum Opus since he's 8/9 fucking souls merged together.

I wonder if Toro will give some conclusion to the og Victoria storyline, maybe she is just dead forever and it will never be acknowledged again, she eventually would have ended up as og Victoria though
>>
>>3998498
I don't think there's anything that suggests Victoria1 didn't have a soul. However, if Lilith and co. are all functional but not heroine clones, it seems unlikely to me that Victoria has a human soul.

If that is the case, she is probably the deadest dead heroine alongside 02-A. Everyone else can be resurrected one way or another since their souls are intact somewhere or their fairytale survived. But hey, who knows, maybe the reason she was a heroine is because she has a soul? All depends on how Toro wants to spin it in the next game right.
>>
>>3998498
It seems that the OGVictoria's stories is unfortunately over, unless she get devoured by a ghoul and her memories and feelings overwrite the ghoul's.
Now for RealVictoria, obviously it won't be the last we see of her. After all, she did sent us a letter in the original ending of BS2.

>>3998594
If Leaf can create Grimm, she can definitely make other things. The problem is that the other things doesn't seems as stable as Grimm. That is the problem, Victoria, her ending or true ending, loses her shit.
>>
>>3998611
>If Leaf can create Grimm, she can definitely make other things.
Yes but one of the sure-fire things she cannot create is a soul.
>That is the problem, Victoria, her ending or true ending, loses her shit.
Her losing her shit in the companion ending is fake and reset by cycles. The only ending that matters is ending D, where Elysium falls apart. Every companion sans Red gets splatted. The aftermath is a few fairytales make it down to Wonderland, Elizabeth Bathory and Goose's souls make it, and Miranda gets Meryphilia'd. Pretty much the only unaccounted for person is Victoria now.
>>
>>3998619
>Yes but one of the sure-fire things she cannot create is a soul.
Actually now that you mention it, she can't create a soul, but she can certainly copy them, or put book into them like she seemingly done for Red.
But Victoria my beloved doesn't have a fairy tale linked to her, so it must have been the white room, which made Victoria unstable sadly.

There's also the Hotel, where if you fuck her too much, she goes berserk.

>The aftermath is a few fairytales make it down to Wonderland

Victoria absolutely had an actor and therefore a "soul" (depending on the meaning of the term). That's the reason she's so different from the OG, her own original human self was shaping how she came out. BS2 spells it out fairly clearly, a role without an actor is just a puppet. It doesn't feel meaningfully alive. All of the twisted fairy tales we see in BS1/2 were Mary's creations, but most of them were given no actor and are fairly mindless creatures we fight as bosses or summons. Lilith (Mary's "Divine Mistake") was most likely attempt 1 at copying the real Victoria after Mary sealed her in the White Prison, and her coming out wrong was the moment Mary fully understood she needed actors to play her roles properly with the amount of individuality and freedom she desired. As for where Victoria is now, her ult made it to the Chaos Dungeon, so she's as still there as some of the other BS1 girls are.

>BS2 spells it out fairly clearly, a role without an actor is just a puppet.
That line was on a bloodstain in Winterbell, and I have a feeling it's referring to the children breeding with Grimm needing souls. The problem with that is in BS2 we have instances of characters acting without a human soul. Exhibit A: Unis and Leiden. Grand Guignol creations that are not human, seen by their true forms during the final boss fight regardless of if they die or not. Cheshire Cat indicates they are completely controlled by GG, see picrel. Even the three puppets during the VN section seemed ""meaningfully alive"" until they weren't.
Futhermore, during Ending C of BS1, Victoria was becoming gradually more self-conscious of... herself? The fairies in the forest were reverting to their original forms, one of them even began to say that she wasn't actually a fairy before put into Elysium. Victoria at no point begins to act more human or does her actor begin to show, in-fact it is quite the opposite.
>Chaos Dungeon theory
The problem with this is we know Goose and Elizabeth Bathory exists in Wonderland, while their spells simultaneously exist in Shatranj. Red Hood's skill under a different name is also there, if I had to venture a guess it would be that it's her DRH version. Does that mean all three have their souls in the Chaos Dungeon?
We also literally have the Demonic Princess of Thorns, as well as Cinderella from the Chaos Dungeon as a reference to what happens when your fairytale gets destroyed or lost but your soul survives. You do not manifest as a spell or object, you manifest a body.
Like I said originally, I don't think there's anything indicating Victoria doesn't have a soul. But her and 02-A are very much unaccounted for before the next games come out.
>>
>>3998788
Nta but maybe not all souls are equals.
Or Grand Guignol is build different.
Or the whole niggerman/not human stuff... but then, some ARE human.
>>
>>3998799
>Or Grand Guignol is build different.
GG is definitely built different since it's an artificial Great One created by the Red and White Queens. With the Ability to Change sealed inside her, her powers should be theoretically identical to Mary Sue's. That's also why GG wanted to merge with Grimm, to lose the restrictions binding Ability to Change and become a true creator with Grimm.
>Or the whole niggerman/not human stuff... but then, some ARE human.
Who are you thinking of that could be human or niggerman? The only one that I can think of who is an ambiguous niggerman is Cheshire Cat.
>>
>>3998805
>first spoiler
It's sure able to go beyond TCO's notice, or anyone for that matter. It's able to replicate stuff from the past.

>second spoiler
OGVictoria is not human/niggerman, she's a succubus. Then, there are certain BS1 girls, but they have either been killed, latching to a place or transformed into a statue.
Jack/Sherlock/Leopold could be considered human?
Red Hood is definitely human, but had the fairy tale put in her.
There's also Florence, it's a theory that the Florence furry isn't actually the real Florence, but it's the Candle Lady.
...Which is creepy.
>>
>>3998788

>Unis and Leiden
Unis and Leiden were Nodens' knights before Wonderland was ever rebuilt as far as we're led to believe. Unis's whole deal is being pissed that Node started craving cock meaning she remembers a time before it. The actors and the roles seem to coincide when it comes to them (they are very close to GG after all) but they are real beings, most likely not human. They may be some of Node's older children. We do see that the daughters who make it to Winterbell have been affected so thoroughly they have truly become the characters they played. Nowhere at all does it say actors need to be human. Most of them aren't as of BS2.
>Futhermore, during Ending C of BS1
All of End C is scripted by Mary beside maybe Lindamea being autistic. The fairies revert because she wants you to piece together that she's Leaf, because she's already written her "defeat" and what follows as yet another ending before everything loops again. She's literally the one who sets up the inner library and who speaks when you pull the lever.
>Does that mean all three have their souls in the Chaos Dungeon?
Edith and Jack are both within the dungeon and within Wonderland despite both being real humans taken by TCO. Elizabeth, Goose, and Red have all died multiple times within the BS2 cycles and been revived by GG. However the fuck Maymay may be doing her thing, I do believe they really are in both places.
>We also literally have the Demonic Princess of Thorns, as well as Cinderella
Actorless roles don't necessarily lack a body. Everything else Mary threw away is in the CD too. All of them fairy tales she rewrote, nearly all of them without any actors assigned to them. Mary definitely can create bodies, it's independent minds that she needs someone else for.
>02-A
Word of God is she's Mary's creation but some of not-yet-Prickett got mixed into her. Given she's supposed to act like an automaton, I'd believe she had no actor, and at most became the basis for GG's dollice.
>>
>>3998814
>Unis's whole deal is being pissed that Node started craving cock meaning she remembers a time before it.

It's ironic how they don't get the guy in front of them is the male.
>>
>>3998805
>>3998811
GG was never supposed to be alive. It was meant as a tool. It gaining its own will after repeating the play over and over blindsided everyone not named Yog.
>Cheshire
Toro confirmed Cheshire's actor is literal irl Dinah, which means she's being truthful in Alice's Room when she tells you about her death, and IIRC Node herself calls her Dinah the last time we see her, after GG has been destroyed. Do keep in mind that Black Souls is still set within the Mythos so canonically cats are OP dreamworld creatures because Howard liked them, so it's normal for Dinah to be that smart and powerful*. Pretty sure Poro is literally a dog that Nary fucked around with though.
*Also the reason Dinah can actually hold back TCO somewhat at the end is that TCO has sunk into the role of Alice and Dinah's own role is that of killing Alice. Also also I want to bring up how the "Tearing" in "Tearing Beast Dinah" is not just about literal dismemberment but also the metaphorical tearing Grimm and Alice apart, which I believe was a bit more obvious with the rougher translation that had her as "beast that separates". It's a descriptor of her role within the play.

It's not going beyond TCO's notice, I think it's more like they expected GG to be subservient. TCO also went a bit crazy and lost his whole being super smart shtick.
>Lorde
I'm of the opinion he made it on his own. Much like Blackwell looking for Florence and stumbling into Wonderland, I see no reason why Lorde couldn't be the same deal.
>Jack
Considering that Edith and Dorothy were both humans in Mental Ward, Jack is most likely human as well. And the Chaos Dungeon dialogue kinda suggests Edith Ia Ia'd both of them.
>>
>>3998811
Lorde mourns that he was not invited, is convinced GG is his child (the real GG theatre), and gets disappeared when he realizes it's not so. Given his jealousy towards Grimm getting attention I figure he's there because of his inherent connection to what GG was named and shaped after, and he kicks your ass because he's just built different. BS2 becer gets too deep into it but there are hints of how creation, artistic creation, and power are related to each other. It's possible Grimm isn't as strong as he is just because Mary made him, but because he's a fusion of so many powerful creative souls. It's all still happening in the Dreamlands after all. It's possible Lorde was such a powerful creative force in life he manifests as a just as actually powerful being within gardens; it's possible his connection to GG plays a part in it.
As for Florence, I am quite fond myself of the theory that the real Florence is the Lady and furry Florence is (likely) Athena. It fits most with her fairy tale being the Nightingale and it calling out explicitly how she's the copy and the original is gone.
>>
Speaking of Florence: The Nursing Graveyard is seemingly its own garden run by someone other than TCO. We know the gods are planning to go to war. She's trapped there and forced to search for a way to grant eternal life. Is it all a big laboratory/factory to produce immortal soldiers for the upcoming war?
>>
>>3998819
Unrelated, but I always wondered why Dinah was with Margaret at a time. Cheap way for GG to make worldbuilding, or something else?

This remind me of a theory found on the wiki that Lorde isn't actually trying to kill Grimm until you try to kill him in his cell or just before. Every other time, it's his Nightmare Spirit, implying that he is so assmad, it causes a ghost of himself trying to kill.
Arguments for this are, Nightmare Spirits have far less skills and stats than the "real" ones, and this phrase "... Even if I lose myself to anger, I'll just kill them
in my head and be done with it."
>>

>Unis and Leiden
Everything suggests GG is in control of both of them. Making up a believable backstory is part of Ability to Change, as Mary was doing the same for her actors. They are most definitely not Node's older children, as that would make them at the very least Outer Gods and Mabel specifically indicates they are not Outer Gods.
>Jack&Edith Chaos Dungeon
Fair enough, but then they have bodies corresponding their role in Wonderland. So in the same way Thorns Princess and Cinderella exists, why would the BS1 heroines be the only souls who turns into a skill book? Miranda to Meryphilia also technically died, but her skill isn't there.

>>3998819

>Cheshire Cat
Do we know what she is? I feel like I remember a line somewhere saying she isn't an Outer One, but I can't find it so maybe I was hallucinating. Node saved her, made her into whatever she is now, but what exactly is that?

>>3998827
The Nursing Garden is currently run by no one. That's why Lingeriena says that Florence is attempting to become the lord of the Garden. Sheep/Shepherd God (not convinced they are different niggermen), are spawning star pests to exploit Florence to create the immortal ghouls for the upcoming war.
>>

>I'm sorry what?
Florence's pet owl. Because of course the girl named after the city she was born in with a sister named after the city she was born in named her pet own after the city she found it in. While you could tie the bird stuff in Florence phase 2 to just her fairy tale being bird related, the tiny bird head feels very specific to Florence finding Athena as a chick as far as what Toro might have been inspired by, and we already have animal actors (Poro, Dinah, and most likely the BS1 cats, since they survive their battle and killing them is a sin), and it would tie even more into the whole bird fairy tale thing + the irony of a bird being a copy a person bearing the tale that speaks of a copy of a bird.

>>3998831
Nightmare spirits are mostly literally nightmares; largely based on serial killers Alice Pleasance Liddell might have been aware of during her life. Lorde is definitely peculiar, but he does have a reaction if you talk to him after his first fight, meaning even if he's just astral projecting he's in control of the fights.
>>3998833

Also, I don't believe GG would create a story that points to things outside the play when it is so obsessed with Wonderland.
>They are most definitely not Node's older children, as that would make them at the very least Outer Gods
Most the BS2 girls are Node's children (with someone as special as Grimm no less) and they are no gods either. There appear to be different kinds of possible children a god can have, given what Mabel says of Shub's child with Grimm.
>Miranda to Meryphilia
Miranda is Shub's creation, not Mary's, and the Dungeon is mostly a repository of Mary's stuff. She also survives Wonderland in the end, while the others are dead as of now.

>how could she belong to Alice AND the Duchess at the same time, and why did she "died"? Twice.
For one, Cheshire says she's died multiple times over the cycles in her post G End dialogue. For two, she belonged to the real irl Alice and died there, then was saved by Node and brought to Wonderland. For three, and this is the important part, she's not the original Cheshire Cat of BS2's Wonderland. The cat in the portrait with the Duchess is a lot more of a cat. If you speak to her with Cheshire's ring she will recognize it, but then she will say her cat was actually slightly different. From everything else we learn, the Cheshire we meet is an external element Node introduced to help with her plan, just like Red, and she took Dinah's soul and placed her into Wonderland by giving her the the existing role of the Cheshire Cat.
>Isn't a wolf though?
Poro as we meet him is, but based on his relationship with Red in RHW and BS2 I would assume Mary created him from not-yet-Red's actual pet dog. Everyone else in RHW seems to have been close to Red's real life too.
Speaking of RHW, it ends with Red "awakening" and leaving the dream, and then after a timeskip being back for a new adventure, which leads credence to the idea that Mary was just borrowing people at the start and that's what she did with Dorothy's girl too.

True, but it seems to have just recently started doing its own writing as of DLC3.

My main answer is more so that Mer isn't dead yet by the end of BS2, but regarding the contents of the CD it's absolutely biased towards Mary's stuff because Mabel uses it primarily as a repository of her daughter's old toys. The one library we find there is primarily made up of Mary's diaries.

I wonder if it mean we'll see Other characters that are akin to the one you knew. What if they aren't dead, and just woke up? What if RHW Red and Black Souls Red were different?

I always thought it was Mabel "limiting" your range of exploration to what she want you to find. Or just limited since it's a Garden within a Garden.
If it was infinite, anyone would probably play inside forever.

Prickett and Node would look dead inside, and Mabel wouldn't know if she should laugh or cry.
>>
>>3999233
>Or just limited since it's a Garden within a Garden
I'm not sure it is. The books we find compare it to a full fledged garden same as Elysium and Wonderland, and it's evidently a safe space from TCO the same way Prickett's mini-garden is (that one is probably a Garden within a Garden). Mabel planned to trap TCO there after Wonderland came undone after all, and it presumably existed before BS2's Wonderland.
Speaking of Gardens and gardens, what is up with the Secret Garden in BS1?
>>
>>3999241
Well, Mabel Jewelbox IS a Garden... But Mabel does mention that if she make too much noises, TCO would notice, maybe that's why.

I mean we do fight the Fake Final boss of Black Souls 1 after all!

>Speaking of Gardens and gardens, what is up with the Secret Garden in BS1?

Let me just say he is completely capable of being loud in certain scenes. He's also very small in base form, Grimm towers over him.
>>4000275
>resurrect
Red in the hotel seems to think that you can resurrect Fairytales as long as you have their book, but Red isn't the most reliable narrator. Mabel meanwhile, is, and her dialogue points more towards the opposite; you can resurrect them if you have their soul. This is also more in line with how Ability to Change functions.

So from my understanding, if Mabel is correct, Grimm should be able to recreate them without the Fairytale. Then again, maybe we'd need both for them to come out as we know them. And currently, Grimm doesn't have the vessel to properly utilize Ability to Change, the fairytales might be stuck in Wonderland, and the souls are either floating in the Cosmos after normal death or a possibility I've seen an anon speculate is that Mabel grabbed them and put them in Shatranj.
>>
>>4000326
>Let me just say he is completely capable of being loud in certain scenes.
That's a certain way to say it!
>>
>>4000326
It does beg the question. Will they be as we know them? Will they remember?
Another thing that make me pause is how Node claims that they will be happy in the library... but since Wonderland is most likely gone, where are they now?

I have big hopes for Black Souls 3... but I'm not sure what those hopes are!

>and the souls are either floating in the Cosmos after normal death or a possibility I've seen an anon speculate is that Mabel grabbed them and put them in Shatranj.

I don't think we really know. Hell, Wonderland might still be partly intact. In ending G, TCO dying was the catalyst to all of it falling apart. Meanwhile, TCO doesn't die in ending H.
>I have big hopes for Black Souls 3
Yeah, me too. I'm sure everyone will return for a big finale. Mary knows we aren't getting a 4th BS game anytime in this cycle. Besides, I personally wouldn't want a series to drag on too long anyway. Trilogies are always kino.

>I don't think we really know. Hell, Wonderland might still be partly intact. In ending G, TCO dying was the catalyst to all of it falling apart. Meanwhile, TCO doesn't die in ending H.
If every endings are canon, TCO probably wasn't dead to begin with, after all wasn't there more than three Alice in Ending G? And the world is clearly crumbling in ending H anyways.
That's another big question, where is TCO if it's not dead? If Wonderland is gone, where is it? I shudder to think of TCO stalking us in Black Souls 3. I know it's ironic saying this in this thread, but enough of Alice.

>Trilogies are always kino.

Arguably if Toro still plans to go through with what he said BS will effectively be an hexalogy (RHW, BS1, BS2, DRH, [unnamed game about the princesses], BS3)
There's actually symmetry in the two halves too when you think about it.

>TCO probably wasn't dead to begin with
I remember a heated discussion on this thread about this a few months ago. I can't remember the conclusion to all that, but I personally don't see why Alice Liddell would've escaped if TCO didn't die or at least was so damaged that it might as well be dead. Since cosmic niggermen don't really die in the traditional sense.
>And the world is clearly crumbling in ending H anyways.
Yeah, that was what I was thinking when I wrote might still be intact. Stuff is falling apart since Grand Guignol is the backstage and part of how Wonderland was built up, but with TCO still there I don't think Wonderland will completely break. That would leave TCO a gardenless Great One. I think the garden will instead revert to a state before the play started.

Toro said Shub really dies in End D because she got too into the role of Baphomet and killing that killed her, and that's why she's in the CD and Mabel is pissed at you, so it's reasonable to assume TCO, being arguably even more into the role of Alice than she was in hers, could also be killed for real.

>A B B A A B progression scheme
>A game about Red, then a game about the Princesses, then BS2 > A game about Red, then a game about the Princesses, then BS3
>middle game in both halves is (presumably) set in the Lost Empire / late stage Elysium
>DRH is between BS1 and BS2, the Princesses game will presumably be between RHW and BS1, meaning the two halves also intersect exactly when you place them chronologically
>Also you constantly move forward in time from RHW to BS2, but then you move back with DRH and (again, presumably) further back with the next one

One possible explanation is that it doesn't have anything to do with TCO, but GG. Or maybe just Grimm. Or TCO/GG were just damaged enough.
Unrelated, kind of, it's inspiring how Lewis came out from Grimm to comfort Alice and walked with her toward the afterlife.

In Ending H, TCO does end up being "frozen", and Alice/Prickett end up freeing Grimm and making him go toward the light...

When I say can't die in the traditional sense, I just mean very loosely in the sense that Shub, Lake God and Sleep God can still manifest. Death is really not an end all in the Black Souls universe since Souls are virtually indestructible apparently and float into the Cosmos. Picrel talks about the Great One's creation souls, but we know Great Ones themselves possess souls as well.

That's a valid concern. I just thought the reason they weren't old was because it was the time they were happy, before society pushed them into roles, before Alice's father put a cross on the idea of Lewis ever marrying Alice, etc, etc.
It's my personal headcanon that Lewis and Alice's fairly love was pure before Leaf and TCO did their things.

Judging by the memories in BS2, BS very much goes all in on Lewis being an actual pedo. He was having Alice pose saucily for her naked pictures and she was skipping class to have alone time with him, he starts coping and seething when he sees old Alice, he tells child Alice his wish is for her to never grow up, and presumably he was doing stuff with Lorina too if she was desperate to get back with him and if the ideal body for her to do so with is a loli.

>he starts coping and seething when he sees old Alice
I always thought it was the trauma of the time having gone by, and having never moved on from Alice. Alice haven't moved on from him either.
But again, personal headcanon.I also really like the idea of most Outer Ones not understanding love and only seeing the sex part. Alice/Prickett in sharp contrast to most characters is not just dressed modestly, her dress is almost downright unflattering despite how buxom she is, and genuinely pretty and cute. Another contrast is how Mother Alice is dressed: TIGHT.
I'm rambling, sorry.

I forgot to write of this earlier, but I had a strange dream with an odd omen that night. might be interesting to someone here, maybe. it goes as such

>i was using some form of GPT service in a dark room having a conversation, and when i wrote to it the chatbot began giving me warnings of something to come, unrelated to my questions.
>i wondered what it was on about, and it continued giving me some cryptic responses about some imminent danger
>eventually i got the feeling it was directing a warning to me, and my blood grew cold.
>i then demanded what exactly its trying to warn me about, then it gave me a french response, with two words i later on forgot.
>"la ________ ________"
>and as soon i woke up in a cold sweat, the clock hit 3am.
despite having repeated the phrase frantically after i woke up, i fell back asleep and forgot the phrase. I regret not writing it asap.
was it an omen or was i being schizo again?

One replay will be necessary, since you'll want to do a 100 SEN run and a 0 SEN run. Go for the 100 SEN run blind.

>I want to avoid unnecesary replays
No replay is unnecessary and each new cycle will give you more insight and let you catch hints that you missed before.
But if you want to rush things and do only the minimum number of cycles then do 2 runs, a 100 SEN run with any of the 3 Alice ends, and then a 0 SEN run going for G and H.
(Or you can use the Gear of Madness like the other Anon said, do a single run and shift back and forth between 100 and 0 SEN, that's also an option so long as you're careful with your Red interactions.)

Who do you think Lorina sold her soul to?
>>
>>4001573
TCO. There's not much on it directly, but Alice Liddell and Edith were both TCO. Alice Liddell is confirmed and Edith is pretty much confirmed through her Chaos Dungeon description.
>>
>>4001592
My counterpoints there are that
>Big Sis Alice disappears after TCO has already lost the plot (seen in the Winterbell memories)
>it stands to reason that Bis Sis Alice was the original fourth nightmare given the other three Alices are all nightmares too
>Lorina is already the odd one out of the existing nightmares, being a human and not a god
>TCO has real Alice in the white room and Edith in the ward (and suffering a horrible disfiguring fate), but Lorina is instead getting to fuck Grimm and in direct competition with TCO
>in fact, Lorina fucking Grimm gets you one of the very very few scenes where TCO gets pissed at what's happening and almost interferes, which almost never happens otherwise
>Jubby suspects Mabel of having disappeared Big Sis Alice
>There is established precedent in the Mythos for Yog making deals with humans that involve transforming them into other things, and no such precedent for Nya'
>TCO is kidnapping people left and right, he wouldn't need any sort of "deal" to take Lorina and plop her where he wants, and he would be quite unlikely to give her a favourable one at that when he does not like her fucking Grimm
>If Lorina was always the QoH then either she got a promotion for some reason, Wonderland used to have 5 nightmares, or there was a god who was playing an Alice but not a nightmare (and the nightmares also being Alices isn't a way to fill extra missing roles since both Jabberwock and Bandersnatch were playing those roles before they started to also be Alices, so they were always playing both in Wonderland)
>>
>>4001573
Why wouldn't it be TCO?
>>
File deleted.
>>4001604
The problem with it being Mabel is the complete lack of interactions from either of them. Sometimes you have to think if Toro wanted us to come to a certain conclusion, whether or not that expectation is subverted in a meaningful way, etc. In this case, a Evil God referencing Mabel or even Yog would be very odd. Not to mention Mabel isn't involved in creating anything in Wonderland, let alone an entire role.
>Lorina being human
Whatever she is doesn't seem to be human anymore. Could be a case like Cheshire Cat where she isn't an Outer One, but isn't what she was originally either.
>Mabel disappearing big sister Alice
Jub accuses her, but Mabel's status quo has always been grabbing dead people into Shatranj. The Sleep God and Lake God were both killed by TCO himself before Mabel took them.
>he would be quite unlikely to give her a favorable one at that when he does not like her fucking Grimm
Even if TCO isn't the one that gave her the role, if he didn't like it he can just take it away. Wonderland is in control of TCO with him being as crazy and weakened as he is. TCO also dislikes a few other things like Leaf's scene and lets it be.
>Mythos
I am not very familiar with the Mythos, but Black Souls characters shouldn't be assumed to be x because it was x in the Mythos. There's way too many established differences already for that to be the case.

All in all, I think your theory is possible, but it's jumping through a lot of hoops to reach it's goal.

Forgot to spoiler my image. Oh well, it was just a screenshot of the sign in the castle calling whoever kidnapped Lorina a Evil God.

Anyway, continuing on. Compared to how Toro shows that Edith was kidnapped by TCO. It is subtle, yet very firm in it's confirmation. They were brought to paradise, and paradise almost always inexplicitly refers to Wonderland throughout the game. I believe this Node line references Jack and Edith as well, considering the first time you meet her will usually be right after you meet Jack.
>>
>>4001614
>the complete lack of interactions
Mabel barely interacts with anyone ever besides you and the other two queens, but we know she has enough of an important role for Jub to go to her. We know for a fact she's almost certainly Mary's other mother but she never visits her despite being right next door. It's deliberate too. "Mabel" is, much like Mary Ann, a character named but never seen in the books. She's assuming a role that exists within the narrative but outside the confines of the script.
>Mabel isn't involved in creating anything in Wonderland
This is debatable. It's established the God of Sleep was involved in creating Wonderland and disposed of soon after, and he's in her possession now. She's certainly there earlier than when Big Sister leaves, and since quite a bit earlier too given her dialogue with Jub, most likely since before TCO went insane. She's been buddies with Prickett and Mabel for a while too. And I am still not convinced she's not the one speaking when you name yourself something you shouldn't; Node wouldn't be going "Fufu you shouldn't remember that" at that point in the story.
>doesn't seem to be human anymore
She still started out as one. The role of a Nightmare seems a prestigious one considering who else got it, so she sticks out. Something else I forgot to mention is that it would be at least poetically fitting if Older Sister Alice was replaced with Alice's Older Sister.
>a Evil God referencing Mabel or even Yog would be very odd
Node may be the closest thing to a "good" god we know of. Mabel is still the one who tells you to fuse with GG. She's nice to Grimm, but I wouldn't say she's not evil. However, honestly, that line could be good evidence if you somehow wanted to argue for Mary being the one involved instead. I find that unlikely though.
>>
>>4001632
>>4001614
>if he didn't like it he can just take it away
Can he at this point? GG is capable of resetting the play even with TCO defeated or dead depending on your take on G End. I'm not sure TCO can alter the play any more at this point. Killing Lorina will just have her alive again next cycle.
>Black Souls characters shouldn't be assumed to be x because it was x in the Mythos
True on one hand, but on the other it's literally impossible to know a lot of things about the characters without the Mythos. When most gods are referred only by title it's clear Toro expects you to fill in the blanks with knowledge of the source material. Mabel first revealing herself as the One-in-All would be meaningless if the author didn't expect you to know what that means.
I'd say to read The Silver Key and Through the Gates of the Silver Key for Yog and his dealings specifically.

>>4001617

>>
>>4001614
>Black Souls characters shouldn't be assumed to be x because it was x in the Mythos
But that's unfun!
>>
>>4001632
>Mabel barely interacts with anyone
That ones on me, when I say interactions what I meant was any form of connection.

Before we start connecting dots between A and C, we have to connect A and B to see that it's already established that TCO is the one who makes the roles for Wonderland, TCO is the one who has kidnapped other humans prior. Mabel, meanwhile, is established that she is grabbing souls of the dead. She has at no point attempted to add to Wonderland as far as we know. She also expresses explicit disinterest in Wonderland as a whole. If she did in fact add Lorina to the play, it would be a first, and I don't think it would be shown to us in this way as a debut.

You have to try to think what the author is trying to tell you. And I'm not saying that to be a pretentious asshole, in these scenarios with no established lore that is the route to go. Why would Mabel add Lorina to the play? What purpose does it serve? What possible interest does that fulfill for the character of Mabel? And does all of that make more sense than other possibilities.
>>4001637
>Can he at this point?
I personally think so. Even though TCO is crazy and weakened, it still thinks it has control of the play. TCO is unaware that GG has a mind of it's own until the very end, which suggests to me that he is very capable of changing the play should he wanted to since nothing was out of the ordinary to him. Wonderland is his garden, and he has shown that he is capable of straight up erasing Jabberwock from the play when she doesn't follow the script. Also during ending G, when we finally reach ""Alice"", that could be argued as the play changing since it hasn't happened.
>>4001652
>But that's unfun!
Really? I think it's the opposite... It's more fun when characters get subverted or changed compared to their Alice in Wonderland or Mythos counterparts.

Oh that sort of things, I'm fine with. Perfectly. I'm just saying that if Kuti isn't the daughter of Cthulhu or that somehow, Nug/Yeb aren't the kids of Shub, I'd be very annoyed. Giving them different personalities is perfectly fine.
To be fair for Nodens in the mythos, depending of the writers, he is genuinely helpful to humanity, or someone that doesn't care about them. He also has a strong hatred of Nyarlathotep, and may be equal to him. Which is... funny to say the least. Unless Node DOES end up putting TCO to the ground.

In my personal headcanon, I think that Node gradually started to fall in love with Grimm as time went by, and deeper headcanon, that Grimm's real personality took over sometime.
But this is just my personal headcanon. I like my personal headcanon. Don't judge them.
>>
>>4001668
So grimm IS an amalgamation of different souls right? I remember arguing with some idiot about that
>>
>>4001695
Why? Everyone in game says it. The game itself make a deal about it in 2, specifically the Hotel Poseidon scene where nine Grimm-like figures are shown and they all clearly each get a melty over what they did, which end up iirc as, stfup we all did it.
>>
>>4001696
Does he have split personalities? For example, was his constant alice autism in BS2 the result of Carrol's soul acting up, or what?
>>
>>4001698
Most likely, TCO apparently scrambled his souls/brain. not helping matter is that Grimm may have his own Alice. (The fandom is stll divided about the tea party's necomer being Grimm or Lewis. I think it's Grimm..

In 1 he was relatively normal.
But in 2's scenes, you can tell the personalities have more of an impact on him. In DLC3 the marks are uncharacteristically insistent on you killing Greta, and a scene with her show that he think killing her would be great to spare the tragedy of suffering before being cut off.
>>
>>4001702
Knew it, some retard said that having split personalities "took away grimm's complexity" or "went against the themes of the story" or whatever it was.
>>
>>4001705
Bro forgot that he was normalish in BS1.

I mean, it's obvious that Lewis has more of an impact on Grimm, because, Wonderland, Especially since Grimm may have had adventure at the Tea Party. but come on, saying that with Poseidon Hotel, Greta, that's just....

Nodens shows up like twice in Howard's stories and the first time he takes a guy's soul out of his body to keep him hanging around the funny house people shouldn't go to while his normified body goes on living a normie life and it's not clear if it's a good thing. He mostly only helps Carter because he was Howard's self insert.

>>4001666
>Why would Mabel add Lorina to the play?
My own take there is that it guarantees she gets her soul too after Wonderland collapses, and it lets her take the missing Alice if she was responsible for that. Actually, another thing: we already have precedent for Yog creating red-themed royalty for Grimm to face in the Old King / 1st Red Queen, which is another point of connection.

>>4001702
>The fandom is stll divided about the tea party's necomer being Grimm or Lewis
Mary is the one who first takes Lewis, then she has her 'toy' stolen by TCO for the Tea Party, and Prickett seems both more in love with Grimm than Lewis and fine with Lewis leaving, so I'd assume he was already Grimm by that point. Prayer Master also clearly recognises you, and Mary was messing with other fairy tales before Grimm so she'd have been interested in other authors already. It would be odd for Mary to be that interested in getting him back if it was just Lewis, or of Mabel to want the rematch with the Red Queen, and a bunch of other things.
>>
>>4001905
It has to be Lewis at the tea party.
The main thematic reason is that the Tea Party was created that way due to Alice wanting to meet with Lewis, not Grimm. So it just wouldn't do for anyone other than Lewis to be there. And due to Lewis's soul leaving in end G, we can assume that TCO could've borrowed just his soul even if Grimm predated the Tea Party.
Prickett is "fine" with Grimm leaving in end H as well. Even during the Queensland date, she doesn't tempt Grimm with escaping with her despite wanting to do so.
>It would be odd for Mary to be that interested
You underestimate or overestimate her greatly. Mary would never in a million years allow for any part of her magnum opus to be stolen from her. She's too arrogant and possessive of her creation to even entertain such a thought.
>Prayer Master
Leaf could've let him in on it because of his role. The other characters might either know, or, more broadly, they might see Grimm as a direct continuation of Lewis. Depending on how you look at it, it isn't at all wrong to say that while Grimm is a distinct entity, he also used to be Lewis, in addition to all the other authors he used to be before Mary did her thing.
Censoring the name could be argued for both, but it would be far more important to hide Lewis's name than Grimm's.
>>
>>4001921
That would require just Lewis, not Mary empowered soul amalgamation Grimm, to have killed Jabberwock and the Red Queen and whatever else he did. Lewis's soul only leaves Grimm under the very specific circumstance of meeting Alice Liddell's soul. The Tea Party was an experiment by TCO to understand love and Alice was merely involved in its creation, but even if its events are based on her childhood fantasies I wouldn't say the Alice in it (Prickett) was particularly based on her. Alice's desire to see Lewis again in the memories is tenuous and I wouldn't pin it as particularly romantic. And you can't argue that TCO was only interested in Lewis AND could have pulled Lewis out of Grimm when that's not something he does before the start of BS2. And I'm pretty sure in End D of BS1 Alice calls him Grimm and not Lewis. And TCO falling for him in the first place implies he was already Grimm because Mary made him a relationship magnet that all gods end up infatuated with.

I know they're both based on existing imagery and the first in particular is very popular in Japan but I don't care; I'm now convinced Nyalra could be lurking here.

I beat the game once and got some few endings
I know I can do NG now and that there's a SEN 0 run and other where you can escape after doing covenants with many heroines
my question is can I do the "good" covenant ending together with a sen0 run or does it cuck me out of it?
>>

SORRY but it's been 20 years no one who comes here doesn't know this already

anyway

Bros I haven't played this game in years. I have a save from a decade ago where I had just killed jub jub before she kills everyone I think.

What should I do now? I can go inside the door in the library now but the cat beats me. I don't think I've met griffin or that other actress girl and don't remember where to talk to them. Should I just try to collect every book in the library?
>>
>>4004624
Do a 0 SEN Run. Observe. Interact. Take notes. This is where the fun begins.

>>4004632
Bro, >>4004624 literally came in 06 minutes before you...
You can beat Jubjub, but not the cat?

>I don't think I've met griffin or that other actress girl and don't remember where to talk to them.
The start of Queensland? The bridge at Lutwigde?

>Should I just try to collect every book in the library?
You could, but if you can't beat the kot, I'm not sure if you could. Do it for the non-item reward, since you can get it elsewhere.
>>
>>4004634
>You can beat Jubjub, but not the cat?
Yeah, isn't jubjub easier than dinah? Isn't dinah, like, the last boss?

>I don't think I've met griffin or that other actress girl and don't remember where to talk to them.
>The start of Queensland? The bridge at Lutwigde?
I don't remember how to get to queensland. I suppose it's west of the swamp? And I went to the bridge at lutwidge and she isn't there. Got a rabbit key though. Maybe I missed her in this playthrough

>>Should I just try to collect every book in the library?
>You could, but if you can't beat the kot, I'm not sure if you could. Do it for the non-item reward, since you can get it elsewhere.
I guess I can beat her if I leveled up a bit and use node's covenant. My build is kinda trash though, I went with a cleric with the mace that basically heals himself but does almost no damage
>>
>>4004624
you have to have sen above 0 to accrue a bunch of covenants so save that run/ending for later
>>
>>4004637
>Yeah, isn't jubjub easier than dinah? Isn't dinah, like, the last boss?

>I don't remember how to get to queensland.
>I suppose it's west of the swamp?
Directly south to the Spore Forest, and you need to go down from there.

>I guess I can beat her if I leveled up a bit and use node's covenant. My build is kinda trash though
Dying isn't all bad, if you feel like the run is screwed. Wink, wink.

>I went with a cleric with the mace that basically heals himself but does almost no damage
Oof. Probably the worst class, Mace is really a bad weapon.

alice is punishing me for not writing the dodo pie story by making me endure these hellish (in a literal sense) temperatures.
if i dont finish that dodo pie story soon, then half of europe will burn... including me!

has anyone made a drawing featuring all the outer ones (tco maymay and shub as far as i can recall)? if not then I'll just draw it myself

Just finished BS1, I'll ask this straight, does it get better? The story was interesting and the plot twist was cool, but the gameplay was poorly balanced, scenes were dogshit and the writing pretty barebones. I've heard that BS2 improves a lot, is it true? I come from the Sequel series so that's my frame of reference.
>>
>>4005288
It get better, a lot better in fact.
If you played Red's game, you would be impressed by how much Black Souls advanced, and then you'll be impressed by how Black Souls 2 advanced too.
Not that your criticism isn't valid.

BS2 is also poorly balanced, in that you'll either get your shit kicked in or you'll stomp the enemy with no in-between, but in a fun way. I had a lot of fun fucking around with different weapons, gear, skills and pumping the numbers as high as I can. And then I got my shit kicked in by DLC3 regardless. I loved every second of it.
The writing improves in 2 a lot. I don't know if it's due to EMMM or the translator improving, but 2 in general flows much better than 1.

I don't know why Amerifats tell themselves this lie when we have AC over here too, but I do know that you're stupid enough to think letting yours run at max 24/7 is making the world colder and not hotter. Heat happens to be a problem because we do this thing called going outside and doing stuff, as opposed to your house container to car container to work container and back life because you've built the worst designed cities in human history.
