Nobody actually wants a faithful remake of P1 and the P2s. I know they think they do but they don't. The games play like ass and a shiny new coat of paint won't fix it.
Anyways they're remaking Persona 4 because Persona 3 sold well and Persona 4 is the same sort of game as 3.

The problem with doing loads of hype marketing for a remake is I already own Persona 4. They got me hyped to go through it again, so why would I wait until next year when I can just plug my PS2 in? Just beat Shadow Yukiko. Game's still great, wish the PS2 version had JP voices like Golden did, but Golden's UI looks like shit on a TV and my Vita has such bad burn in it's unusable now.

Remake looks great. Unlike P3R it seems to use P5R as a baseline for its combat and adding new features. P3R felt worse than even vanilla P5. Completely bizarre choice for a remake.

Persona 2 IS is one of the worse written RPGs I ever played, I genuinely find it baffling people call it not only call it good writing but mature storytelling hat changed their life.
How it's paced, Info is given to the player and character writing is all dogshit that I can only assume people just larp that they played it.

I never play or buy remakes. I've only started playing persona 3 and 4 on the ps2 recently. I even downloaded p3r from fitgirl but preferred the atmosphere and not being able to control teammates from the original.

Atlusfags may never realize that the SMT folks will never top P4. They simply do not have it in them. It's as close to a perfect experience that arc or Atlus could ever produce. They don't hold up compared to P5, nor does P3R. It's like they held back on updating the combat mechanics to make P4R and the eventual P5 remake seem like the series is advancing. The main thing they should've fixed in the remakes is the level design. Fully unique dungeons instead of randomized corridors.

I would like a remake of IS because I have the memory of playing EP first and it was a completely schizoid story that was made worse because it kept making refferences to the first game, but back in the day there was no english translation so it was confusing as fuck. It got translated later but I had no interesting to play it on the psp. My copy of EP had a full debug menu unlocked for some reason.
P3 had an interesting setup, but nothing happened for most of the playtime until the final hours and the remake did jack shit about it. P4 had better narrative, but it went to shit with the ending pulling a scooby doo twist that was fucking dumb. There's also a slight chance Atlus might go full retard and pander to morons by rewriting Naoto and Kanji, considering how desperate they are to make the series mainstream.
