>Guys, we're remaking Persona 4!
You mean the game that already got Persona 4 Golden? The version that added new story content, new social links, extra endings, quality-of-life improvements, HD ports, and is playable on basically everything short of a refrigerator? At this point, Persona 4 has been remastered so many times that the Investigation Team should be investigating why they keep waking up in new releases.
>Meanwhile, fans of Persona 1 and Persona 2
>"Can we get a remake?"
>Atlus: "Best I can do is another trip to Inaba."
Persona 3 Reload at least had an argument. The original was split across multiple versions, had outdated mechanics, and lacked modern presentation. Persona 4 Golden already feels modern and complete. What exactly are we getting with a remake?
>70% prettier lighting
>20% updated menus
>10% "Wow, Yosuke has more pores now"
>Suddenly pricetag is $70.
The real mystery isn't who's inside the TV anymore. The real mystery is how Atlus looked at their catalog and concluded that the game that already had the definitive edition was the one that needed saving. What about Persona 2?
>The fog rolls in. Atlus pretends not to hear.

>modern presentation
okay so you need to commit suicide right now

Nobody actually wants a faithful remake of P1 and the P2s. I know they think they do but they don't. The games play like ass and a shiny new coat of paint won't fix it.
Anyways they're remaking Persona 4 because Persona 3 sold well and Persona 4 is the same sort of game as 3.

1 and both 2s might as well be a different series. They effectively are already.
>>
>>3996728
Why can't they add a special episode like P3:FES did?
>>
cont. >>3996728
Maybe turn the Arena games into an actual RPG.
>>
>>3996728
Persona 2 got a remake one year before Golden came out, and it’s infinitely less popular and thus less marketable and profitable.
>>
>>3996728
Please do not remake P1 and P2. They already have perfectly serviceable remakes and do not need gay otaku life sim/dating shit added in. P2:IS already suffers enough from otaku pandering for the first 18 hours.

>had outdated mechanics, and lacked modern presentation
Why is this a problem? Just curious I don't play persona games
>>
>Marie

that alone is why I am not getting this

The game's almost 20 years old.

persona 2 needs a remake that has innocent sin and eternal punishment together, i can't stand atlus bringing only EP on the PS1, and only IS on the PSP

And they couldn't even get that right LMAO. P4 is the best of the best for all the waifufags so they'll lap it up anyway
>>
The problem with doing loads of hype marketing for a remake is I already own Persona 4. They got me hyped to go through it again, so why would I wait until next year when I can just plug my PS2 in? Just beat Shadow Yukiko. Game's still great, wish the PS2 version had JP voices like Golden did, but Golden's UI looks like shit on a TV and my Vita has such bad burn in it's unusable now.

this didn't happen. i don't want them to touch my games and i don't want you to play them. i don't want you giving your braindead takes on the characters or plot, or talking about how it's so much better now that the remake has simplified it or added dating sim elements or extra endings or whatever the fuck else. i would really prefer that you don't play persona 1 at all. thanks.

Remake looks great. Unlike P3R it seems to use P5R as a baseline for its combat and adding new features. P3R felt worse than even vanilla P5. Completely bizarre choice for a remake.

>P3R felt worse than even vanilla P5
In what ways?
>>
Persona 2 LARPers pretending like they'd actually buy a remake if it came out lol
>>
>>3996728
Everyone knew they were going to do a P4 remake because they wouldn't leave that money on the table. P3 is up-to-date, P5 is up-to-date, that just leaves the elephant in the room which is P4. And it fits nicely as a temporary fix before P6.
>>
>>4004156
Combat's more similar to P3 than it is P5. Very primitive.
