Will we ever see another Grandia game?
>>4004159Considering that every game but the original kinda sucks, it might be for the best if we didn't.
>>4004177nigga it's normalized right now.
>>4004159Grandia 2 is one of my all time favorite games.
>>4004186Like wtf is he even about. It was never more accepted than today. Just think about that mulatto woman stealing that boy after a gaming event.
>>4004159why is she so designed to be hot but also barely mentioned at the same time?
>>4004159No. The creator of the series died ages ago and the remnants of Game Arts are mostly support staff for GungHo.
>>4004159as much to Game Arts making another and good Smash title.
>>4004159what a goddess. the lunar games and the first grandia are game arts' best games. and they are great games period. feena love.
>>4004159Feena is so hot
>>4004177>pedophiliaYou should check the definition unless you are one yourself and actively muddying the waters so you feel safer around 2D loli and hebecons. Anyways, kill yourself
>>4004778>it's not pedophilia, it's hebephilia, actually!tell that to the officer
>>4004177if japs are such pedos then why aren't they having kids anymore? checkmate, atheists
>>4004789fifth amendment, bitch
>>4004177>12 yo girlUm, Feena is 15. Justin is 14, she's older than him. This is burned into my memory because I've always like older sister type girls.
>>4004789>You should check the definitionalready failed at that, huh?
>>4004177Everyone including you would be arrested for looking at child pornography because you clicked on this thread with that image, according to you.
>>4004935is this grooming?
>>4004935That age gap is problematic
>>4006017I hammer the gap with my dick if you know what I mean
>>4004159Didn’t someone associated with the games say the series was officially retired after the death of its creator back in the 2010’s?
>>4013156they can always sell the IP and then magic happens. maybe.
>>4006019Surprise! The gap you hammered was a trap! A TRAP'S GAP! You are now infected with the geigh. :( sry bro
>>4006017Your open wound is problematic.
>>4013320there are no traps in Grandia 1
>>4004159The most memorable thing about Grandia is the awful voice-acting, and wow it has not aged well. Physically painful. Surprised the adults there signed off on it.The maps sucked, the 3D obviously sucked as an early PS1 game, the combat was solid. I honestly remember almost nothing. I haven't played that game in over 20 years.
Anyone play Grandia Xtreme? I’ve heard it’s pretty good, but lacks that sense of adventure which is a hallmark of the series
>>4016555>the combat was solidthus contradicting your entire paragraph.Dishonesty at its finest.
>>4022182Incredibly forgettable. In fact, I remember absolutely nothing about it except a volcano level.
>>4004314You’re a good guy and I like you.I wish you luck and success.
I’ve seen official art of Justin and Gadwin’s penises
>>4023287link it you faggot
>>4004159No. And to be perfectly honest, it wasn't all that great the first time around.
>>4032063Millenia....
>>4004789>This is what you waste my time for? Some stupid cartoon images?
I don't care for Grandia 2.
Girls in Grandia 1 were better. I don't care for that "shy demure girl" archetype that Japs love so much. Millenia was great though, I envy kids at her school.
>>4034293Same. Inferior to the original in every single way. I didn’t even bother with 3 because supposedly it’s even worse.
The series had like three straight bombs (even though I liked 3), one of which was a scrapped MMO that probably cost them a gazillion dollars and Game Arts hasn't made shit in well over a decade, they didn't even give enough of a shit about the rerelease to not hard lock the shittiest smear filter you've ever seen on it. I think its over, bro.
>>4004355Bro? She's a major character, she's a main party member for most of the game, half of the game's conflict revolves directly around her. Did you think this was Tio or something?
>>4022199Not thay guy but the combat is traditionally one of the most well loved aspects of the series, bro
>>4038836I'm not that other anon, but I agree with him. Grandia combat is wasted potential. The beginning of the game is fine enough. The magic is in positing, timing, using your critical attacks to stop enemy actions, combo attacks to get extra damage, defend evading to avoid damage and quickly get your next turn to punish the enemy, and defend enduring to mitigate oncoming damage. That's the sauce right there. And then magic fucking ruins everything. Completely steamrolls over all that nuance and mechanical depth to just spam AoEs. Gotta use the magic to increase your elemental levels and get those stats and new spells/skills right? So you're going to use AoEs. Want to be a contrarian and forget the magic and just go ham with weapons? Okay, but the troop formations later in the game were designed with magic spam AoEs and so the balance is completely off for that compared to the beginning of the game where the balance accounted for lack of AoE magic spam. It's the biggest irony.Grandia tries to set itself apart by not having a line up of your heroes vs. a line up of the enemies, and each just taking basic turns one after the other. You have a battlefield. You can only run so far or so fast. If you get hit at the wrong time you take extra damage. If you hit them at the right time you either cancel their attack or do additional damage.... and all that goes the fuck away so that you stand still, the enemy stands still in AoE magic spam stunlock, and you just sit there taking turns without much concern of distance, timing, defending, or whatever. So disappointing. And that's not to say there's nothing to love about the combat, there is. I still had fun with it. It just could've been epic though. It could've been so so much better.
>>4038865Excuse my delirium. Let me try that again:*The beginning of the game is fine enough. The je ne sai qui is in the positioning of combatants on the battlefield, timing your attacks, using your critical attacks to stop enemy actions, combo attacks to get extra damage in, defend evading to avoid damage and quickly getting your next turn to punish the enemy, and defend enduring to mitigate oncoming damage.
>>4038867It came across fine the first time
>>4038904Thanks man, I appreciate that. Truly.I'm tired, frustrated, and hungry. Don't get relief for another 4 to 5 hours. Not completely cogent at the moment.
>>4038943I hope you get snacksOnly the Utawhatmawremomo games have really tried to emulate Grandia's system directly iirc but rolling timelines are becoming more common
>>4038865Yeah, magic systems ruined so many JRPGs for me, because they always make characters too homogenous. Especially if you are allowed to equip any magic on any character. Oh look, our cast is so diverse and unique, too bad they all have the same spells now.
>>4038833Maybe he means in discussion of hot vidya girls. There’s distressingly little Feena porn.
>>4004159Why is she so fertile?
>>4006017Statistics show that the older a man is than a woman, the more likely the relationship is to work out, but only up to 10 years of difference. After that it starts to go down.
Where is my Feena? Are not all men entitled to their own Feena? I hate Game Arts for allowing me a fleeting glimpse of paradise. It makes my continuing existence on this bitch of a mortal plane all the more agonizing.
>>4039225This anon gets it.But ignoring h stuff she never gets mentioned in waifu discussions, afaik
>>4042533>Are not all men entitled to their own Feena?lolno
>>4043048Icarians owe me sex.
>>4038865I just remember leveling up stuff becomes quick doing it with all your magic and weapons just stomps the difficulty.
How are 3’s waifus?
>>4004159I hate that we can't sexualize hot teenagers who are at the peak of their sexuality anymore. And probably not, the co-creator died and the first game was the only really really good one.>>4038699Grandia 2 almost certainly was hinting at a harem ending and Ryudo gets the sweet with the spicy>>4022182I only did the first dungeon. I'll go back to it one day, but the characters and plot didn't hook me. There's a cute jailbait girl that looks like she probably joins your party that I'd play again for.>>4016555Nice trips. Back then the fact that the game had fully-voiced cutscenes and characters yelling before attacks was cool enough. Kind of like how 3D games were kinda shitty but we were so amazed by 3D to begin with that we didn't give a shit that they were shitty because it was new.
>>4046421The mom is VERY cute. Otherwise, not much to mention.
>>4045040To be fair, the rainbow cone save points stomps out any difficulty the game has to offer anyway because any player can just default to taking on a monster, going all out, and then go straight back to the rainbow cone and healing to full, and then continuing on in the dungeon as the monster continues to be dead. I'm pretty sure the monsters don't even respawn unless you leave to the world map and come back. But, yeah, you're right. All the magic and skills destroys the difficulty too.
