I had 4 and 6 on console and played 5 on zsnes back in the day. "Pixel remaster* looks like such shit would never touch it. What is the best way to play these now?

Emulate SNES originals in ZSNES. Pixel remasters are total garbage.

if you're playing old games that means you want to talk about old games with others. so you should play the versions that they played.snes.

Always play the originals.- FFIV you may want to find hacks that restore content for the NA release, or else play a fan translation of the original Super Famicom version. - For FFV, you can use the RPGe translation of the SFC version. It's classic.- FFVI, there's a bug in the evade stat that I like to patch. Beware that the fan translation community for FFVI is notoriously ridden with aids and cancer. Best to leave it alone.
