What should the possible endings have been for Mass Effect 3?
>>4011189Harbinger should've assumed direct control and there should've been a way to defeat the reapers by military action and they then retreat to preserve what they harvested. Shepard get a golden single action army, best gun ever made.

>>4011189You don't kill a single enemy. You listen to what they have to say, and that's what no one did.
>>4011189Ashley gets impregnated by your pure chad human seed.
>>40111891. You fight your way in as Paragon. Every ally and army you befriended through out your journey of the 3 games gets at least a couple seconds each in the cutscenes showing them kicking butt. You face Harbinger and he is pissed you're forces are winning, gives a monologue about how you will cause permanent death to all life in the galaxy like this. You reveal that he is actually wrong and gay, that they shouldn't have the right to slaughter everyone or some other good guy spiel. Harbinger is absolutely gobsmacked at your good guy logic and realises he is an asshole. Stops the invasion and either suicides all reapers, chooses to exile, or works to redeem themselves. (you are secretly mind controlled, and this is a hallucination)2. Renegade has everyone dying to try get you to harbinger, you barely make it with most/all allies dead. Tell harbinger to get fucked, fight it to the death. Extremely difficult fight as you are solo against the boss and his minions. If you win harbinger goes down but other reapers close in, cutscene ends with you preparing to go fight the rest solo but seems like a lost cause, though still badass.(you are secretly mind controlled and this is a halucination)3. Secret ending that is a mix of both routes. Successfully getting to Harbinger with team work and everyone working together like with Paragon route, but during the conversation you realise you have been secretly mind controlled and snap out of it. Fight Renegades fight against Harbinger, but with everyone there to help. Take him down and see most other reapers have been taken down by the various armies at the same time. You work together to mop up the rest and save the galaxy for real.
Anyone got that comic where Shepard takes a dump inside the crucible and the Catalyst goes like 'thats a big shit' and it ends with everyone turned into shit-hybrids.
>>4011189There should have been only one ending, the one where you destroy the Reapers. No starchild shit.
>>4011189the universe devolves into base level mobs, that eat itself alive til all are gone
Its such bad writing from the get go. "We're building this plot device but we dont know what it will do when turned on" and its a fucking kid explaining like, people shat on the ending cutscenes and justifiably so but all the shit prior to it was way fucking worse. Illusive man was a total waste. Might have not been there at all and nothing woulda changed. All in all i doubt the original ending they was planning with the reapers resetting civilization because muh dark energy or whatever would have been good
>>4014481>All in all i doubt the original ending they was planning with the reapers resetting civilization because muh dark energy or whatever would have been goodthat's a hold over from Revelation Space, the novel series Mass Effect cribbed the Reapers fromin RS the villains are the Inhibitors, who do more or less what the reapers do but are killing any interstellar species so that when the Andromeda and Milky Way collide in a few billion years they can more easily shepherd inhabited planets to stable zones so life isn't fully extinguishedthe problem is that they're just unthinking machinesmaking the reapers mwahahaha all the time under cuts that
>>4011189Shepard should have been ditched as the protag for ME3 and they shouldn't have tried to end the series with the one game and no plan just so they could have their epic trilogy meme.
>>4011189How about being able to destroy the reapers without destroying all other sentient AIs? That was a cheap shot because they just didn“t want an easy pick. Honestly the only one to cope with what they got is to embrace the indoctrination theory and call it a day.
>>4011189>Illusive man was right all along, is bought back along with Michael Douglas voice acting for total exoneration and put in charge of the galaxy>All other government endeavors die to invasion and infighting>You are now leader of the Spectres with your own office off the cool galaxy map one after a double feet up on the desk sharing a cig with Illusive man. Can have sex with Jack on your other cooler galaxy map desk there anytime you want while she fucks with the bureacracy in the various offices and blows up military hardware in testing and dunks on all the go along to get along shitty woke aliens>ME4 launched out of that base to find and destroy the reaper homeworld after they unmothball the normandy with new tech whereas all the former officers hijack it against the Illusive man's wishes like they kept doing in Star Trek movies>Now you're in deep space, Illusive man bureacrat agents on your ass, unknown horrific reaper ravaged worlds in front of you and can have a proper non-woke adventure again.>Things get fucked up on the earth and illusive man sides with you again as you're the last hope for survival out there in the cold depths of reaper territory>You and Jack have a kid that is heavily fucked with by reapers and half the end game plots are about rescuing him or her and sending their entire civilization to hell until you discover the peaceful earthlike precursor guys who invented it again and are held hostage by their own technology.I know some of these beats were in ME3 but they weren't done well because I forgot any of them that mattered.
I don't know. ME borrowed heavily from Babylon 5, but instead of the conflict being two ancient alien factions trying get the current generation of intelligent life to their different ideological sides they made it all about artificial intelligence (while presenting it basically no different from any other alien race). ME2 was also such a detour from that theme that I basically forgot about it until 3 came out.I guess the big ending choice along those lines that didn't happen was actually convincing the reapers to just fuck off and live their own existence in deep space where nobody would find them?Alternatively just scrap the robot angle entirely and just do a shit ton of slides. I don't really like that, but I'm sure some do.I think my problems with ME's endings really just come down to the details of presentation though. There's were so many variables from earlier games, so they could have at least tied them to more ending sequences where specific people live or die, or at least something to that effect
