Resumed from >>3938636 which is capped (other thread another anon made failed from to not link back to the previous one).Tierlist is based off of legendary edition, not vanilla hence why Javik is so high. I opted for mods also hence why Miranda is that high. Tierlist link: https://tiermaker.com/create/mass-effect-squadmatesAlso for an actual topic to start off, Expanse and Exodus are going to be let downs, no actual alien companions are to be found and world building seems to be shit. None of them have more than one(or not even one) bangable female companion so Maas Effect 4 is all we can hope for. From last N7 day's teasers, looks like Cerberus surviving and making relays as well as Krogan having a civil war are gonna be the theme this time, that means most companions should be returning in some way. Thank God they're not going with a timeskip with just Liara surviving as initially suggested.

>>4013090>Garrus that high with no consequences with dealing with saleon/sidonis in ME1/2 and being a bitch when not speaking up to Shepard when finding out Shepard killed Mordin >Samommy that high despite no character development in 2 or 3 except for her daughters missions. Inconsequential to plot outside of suicide mission and having the shittiest romance out of ME2 squadmates (Kelly dont count).>Wrex not in S tier and under Liara, Garrus, and Samara>Virmire Survivors being ahead of GOAT's like Miranda, Tali, Legion, and Mordin>Grunt and Javik not at least A tier.>fucking Jacob ahead of Thane, EDI and ZaeedPlease explain.
>>4000133>Mordin below Grunt>Kasumi higher than C tier>Wrex as low as B tier>Liara in fucking bottom tierAt least you got Javik, VS's, James, and Jacob where they should be.
Just confirmed, Expanse you get a blonde sniper girl with a nice body, but based off Exodus all you get so far from a fenale companion is a twiggy short haired dyke.
>>4013087Generals go on>>>/vg/
>>4013097Read the actual OP, gave specific topics and didn't mention it being a general.
>>4013092>>Garrus that high with no consequences with dealing with saleon/sidonis in ME1/2 and being a bitch when not speaking up to Shepard when finding out Shepard killed Mordin He's there mostly for his ME1 performance and some bro moments from ME3.>>Samommy that high despite no character development in 2 or 3 except for her daughters missions. Inconsequential to plot outside of suicide mission and having the shittiest romance out of ME2 squadmates (Kelly dont count).I liked her and enjoyed talking with her.>>Wrex not in S tier and under Liara, Garrus, and Samaraeh, I just don't see him as an S-tier mate>>Virmire Survivors being ahead of GOAT's like Miranda, Tali, Legion, and MordinI played through most of ME1 with them one time. They're underrated and fun. >>Grunt and Javik not at least A tier.Grunt tries too hard but a fine guy overall. Javik is a DLC character. Never used him much, only talked to him. Maybe I'm autistic.>>fucking Jacob ahead of Thane, EDI and ZaeedHe has some unique convos aboard the derelict Reaper and overall a fine guy. Thane I didn't like, EDI I appreciate as the AI. Zaeed is a DLC character and kind of boring. In conclusion, chars in tiers S and A I'd gladly use on missions. Tier Bs have situational use (like the Derelict Reaper. Grunt and Jacob shred those husks with ease). Tier Cs I get it why they're with Shepard, but I don't want to use them.Tier D is nah man, I don't feel it at all.
>>4013099>and didn't mention it being a generalWhy does it need an edition if it's not a general?
>>4013100Just admit it nigga, you liked Samara either for tits and/or Dommy Mommy/MILF fetish. As for your explanation on Jacob, I can't even. Didn't bring him with me past the second mission so cant say on that, but his power ups are trash. Can't see ever taking him over Miranda, Grunt, and Garrus on a ME2 mission. Also Wrex ain't your mate, that's your nigga, gotta play the Citadel DLC. Same goes for Javik.Me thinks you ain't play the LE version.
For those that ain't seen Dantics Shepard plays video, its a must watch. Basically an anti woke 4 hour comp where he voices the mass effect characters using AI.https://youtu.be/tEG_NwJZBKM?si=Ayy15XgxYLF27aE5Even does the character tier list mentioned in the OP.
>>4013102This interview is over.
I have never used Jacob outside of required portions of ME2.
>>4013087ME had such good companions I pretty much gave them all a go
>>4013118You really think Ashley or Kaiden were likeable?I mean I pretty much took Garrus and Wrex everywhere with me desu. Even Tali and Liara were lucky to get a ride but I never bothered with human companions except Miranda.
>>4013123That's more of a you problem. I used Kaiden and Ashley just fine.
>>4013087How the fuck is Urdnot Wrex more powerful than Professor Solus exactly? Mordin can kill billions of Krogans in one single evening concocting a plague to eliminate ALL life on Tuchunka overnight if we wanted. The thing is despite having the power to do so easily Mordin doesn't actually want to kill all the violent Krogans on Tuchunka because he is a genuinely big guy. Meanwhile Wrex is a little man who actually wants to kill all of the peaceful Salarians on Sur'Kesh but lacks the power to do so
>>4013123Yes I thought they were likeable
>>4013123Ashley is likable in the sense I like to mock her, belittle her, make her eat dirt, scold her and humiliate her at every chance the game gives me and she still shows up in my quarters before the Illos Mission reciting her nerdy poetry praying her God will let her suck my space balls and eat my space poops. Ashley is a refreshingly realistic take on writing female space marines. Kaiden was based too btw until EA turned him into a certified gay
>>4013123Yeah
most ME2 additions that aren't Mordin/Legion or Miranda/Jack are very forgettable
>>4013127It's just a general tierlist, as in favorites not strength.Putting Mordin and Wrex both in top tier is a patrician choice.
>>4013133I'm so glad they gave her a boobjob and a makeover in ME3. Both her and Liara were totally unfuckable in ME1.
>>4013282>Jennifer in assntitty committee when she's built like a toothpick and also arguably weakest female companion combat wise.>Ashley one whole tier above over Miranda, Tali, and Liara who get the most character development Grunt deserves a tier between your assntitty and mid tier. He doesn't get the most character development but he's a top 3 ME2 and top 5 ME3 character when it comes to combat.
>>4013097There are no rules against generals on /v/alkan boards anymore, check the rules. Which make sense because these boards are slow enough anyway.
>>4013102>implying Wrex ever made it till Citadel DLC and didn't get his face blown off in Virmire
>>4013369>being a retard and not maxing out either paragon or renegade skill points or even just getting his family armor when he asks you as a favor to get arguably the strongest and most chad companion in the seriesShiggydiggyHonestly, good litmus test for someone is a psychopath/sociopath or just a stupid nignog is to see if they killed Wrex out of malice or willful ignorance, if so shows they're not to be trusted. The ones that keep him alive and then fuck him over in 3 to kill him later though deserve to be castrated without a doubt.
>>4013373Let's be honest. Wrex was himself a chimping out nignog and the krogan are basically a race of space vermin. You should have no qualms about killing them/him.
>>4013386Yeah if you went paid attention during the Tuchanka missions in ME2 and especially ME3, you'll see that Krogan had proper civilization before nuking eachother hence why they never got spaceflight until Salarians gave it to them. Also calling Wrex a chimping nignog makes no sense because even by the time of Virmire he'll tell you why he had to put his dad down was because he wanted a better feature for the Krogan instead of the supposed nignog shit you're accusing him of. This is elaborated in ME2 where you find out how much of a big shot Wrex was in reality, but was humble about it in ME1.
>>4013341It is interesting how the Commander never compliments Ash on her makeover, or even given the option for that matter. Why aren't there any dialogue options to talk about her new boobs or haircut? It's almost like Shepard doesn't pay particularly close attention to what his shipmates even look like because he exists in a perpetual state of hyper-focus directed towards saving the Way from the likes of Batarians and Synthetics>>4013339>No no it's a generalized tier listIf that is indeed the case the tierlist maker should have included all voice acted shipmates like Navigator Presly, Joker, Engineer Adams, Yeomen Chambers, Corporal Jenkems, Dr.Chocolates, Mess Sergeant Gardner, Dr.Michel, Jenny Goldstein, Burt, Sarah Patel, Zach Matthews, Ken, Gabby and etc from the get-go. Otherwise Jacob will always land dead last place in 99% of the lists without pushovers like Kelly to out-score. And personally I don't even care whether Jacob is black or white btw, I only care about whether he is biotic or not. This thread should be nuked and OP should make a better one with a better list maker with more Normandy crew>Putting Mordin and Wrex both in top tier is a patrician choiceYes>>4013353You have to switch Zaeed and Garrus. on paper Zaeed's track record is 100 times more impressive and 1,000 times more extensive than Garrus's who was basically laughably cucked Detective before he met Shepard who still can't even work up the quads to try and pick up a female Turian at a bar by ME3 without Shepard's direct intervention so imagine how incel Detective Vakarian was before ME1 even starts. Meanwhile Zaeed was a gigachad since age 13 and does not "need" Shepard to hold his hand like Garrus does. By the time you meet Zaeed he has already banged over 100 lethal Asari Commandos and killed millions of Krogans so everybody on the Normandy knows fighting the Collectors will be a walk in the park for Zaeed>>4013386This. Even the Krogan admit that Krogan Lives Don't Matter
>>4013341She's hot with a helmet on. Thank bioware for giving me a space knightfu
>>4013395That's because hes not fazedHe's got ME3's version of Liara who also apparently got the memo and hit the squat regimen, also got a boobjob, and work on her face/learning to use makeup. Not to mention the obvious which is Mirandas's natural master tier body which Trashley even comments on when you meet her at the hospital in ME3 if you dumped her for Miranda talking jealously saying that she at least has flaws and that Miranda isn't apparently to make Miranda fake or some shit.I mean sorry, Miranda, Tali, and Liara are just far more loyal than Ashley was.Even if you romance Ashley and keep the romance in ME3 she's still has barely any dialogue in between missions. It gives a reason to keep Kaidan alive which while he doesn't have that much more dialogue than Ashley, still has more impact on the games story after bringing either VS back to the team.Human companions in general were skimped on, but especially the VS's.
>>4013395>agrees that Mordin and Wrex are top tier>then says Krogan Lives Don't MatterFuck off, and its not just Wrex that's great. His wife and Grunt were based too.
>>4013087Here's my tierlist: I distributed it relatively equally across all four tiers according to how well their stories (excluding romances) resonated with me.>Also for an actual topic to start off, Expanse and Exodus are going to be let downsThey're never gonna live up to Mass Effect we have in our hearts, which is the entire trilogy worth of memorable stories and companions but without any issues that plagued the franchise, including the godawful ending. That being said, the gameplay previews from both games were underwhelming, though Expanse had feedback from the open beta so there's a chance things will improve noticeably. No such luck for Exodus, especially now that they soft-confirmed we ain't getting a full-fledged character creator. >no actual alien companions are to be found and world building seems to be shitThey're different kind of sci-fi, and are actually much less trope-y than ME was. The Expanse's aliens are a galaxy-spanning immaterial hive-mind driven to extinction by another equally incomprehensible hostile entity, while Exodus doesn't even have aliens per se because all life is terrestrial in origin but evolved or genetically modified to such a degree that it might as well be alien to humanity. Put that in contrast with Turians (aka Space Roman Birds) with such alien names like Adrien Victus, Vetra Nyx, Corinthus or Sparatus.>Thank God they're not going with a timeskipThey absolutely are going with the timeskip, what are you talking about? We'll be getting Liara and possibly Wrex and Grunt, and that's almost certainly it.
>>4013408Eve mentions Wrex suffers a rare 1-in-a-Million "Krogan birth defect" which is explains why Wrex could behave on the Normandy whereas 999,999 lesser Krogan are not capable of acting civilized on the Normandy and would quickly start BLOODRAGING like feral animals killing Ashley over some joke about aliens using computers unlike Wrex can play it cool. Wrex is an outlier. Normal Krogan are not only incredibly violent but also incredibly stupid! For example I just sold an ordinary rock to some random Krogan at my local spaceport for $1,000 credits by telling him if he eats it after 0200 hours he will be granted magical powers>>4013446>Timeskip>GruntWrex (or Wreav) would be killed if they go the timeskip route because Grunt almost certainly would choose to eat Wrex to claim his crown and rule all Krogan forever (or at least until somebody eats Grunt?)! This is how Krogan culture works. Much like Telvanii or Sith Lords. Grunt (or any other Krogan) is welcome to try killing Wrex whenever they like. And should they actually succeed they'd be legally tasked with governing Clan Urdnot. Presumably Wrex has to kill powerful challengers to his throne in combat with his Krantt off-screen pretty frequently because of how Krogan choose to govern themselvesThe thing is if Grunt is in ME4 he needs to be a villain to fill the shoes of the foreshadowing in ME2 when Grunt tells Shepard verbatim:>"Wise, Shepard. If I find a clan... if I find what I want, I will be honored to eventually pit them against you!"
My list is not taking into consideration any combat stuff, purely from a story standpoint. How well crafted are their personalities, do they leave a mark on Shep and the world, their dialogue/banter with others, etc. etc. etc.Not sure if Ashley is a low A or high B, but I think at least in 1 she gives the player a lot to think about in terms of races and she's amusing at times. She's my bomb person in every playthrough but 1 so it's been awhile since I've seen her in 2/3 thoughbeit. The rest though I feel pretty confident, especially as I consider them all during Citadel DLC before taking the final mission. What a fucking series, I love all 3 games so much and it's still a genuine joy to replay them often (especially with mods for LE.)>>4013446What do you like so much about Tali? I've asked people this before and it's always interesting to hear the responses, but it's just one character I've never ever gotten into at all. Don't like her story/mission, don't like how she's written, etc. But different strokes for different folks I suppose!
>>4013658>What do you like so much about Tali?I guess it's a little bit of everything really. From a purely quantitative aspect, her and Garrus are the only two companions present in all three games (unless you cock up the Suicide mission) which means you are given more opportunity to get to know them through party banter or personal conversations. She is undoubtedly a Mary Sue-ish socially awkward genius scientist like Liara is (and Liara is 80 years older than her), but she manages to claw her way out of being a mere trope by having an actual personality. She's not a pushover and will put her family and species over you when push comes to shove, but is your ride or die in basically every other instance. She also is a decent representative of Quarian species (on account of her species being a monoculture, but still) and her missions or conversations serve as a window to their way of life and thinking. Her romance is touching, even though it is kind of nerd bait-y, and she doesn't look too shabby in leather either. >>4013453>Wrex (or Wreav) would be killed if they go the timeskip route because Grunt almost certainly would choose to eat Wrex to claim his crown and rule all Krogan foreverNah, mostly because you can end up with Grunt dead, so whatever happens to the Krogan and their leader cannot involve other ME companions but Liara.
this game needs less space wizard magic and more dakkasomething that always bothered me was how there was 1 spaceship model for each race like come on peoplealso, why does the systems alliance have as much space claimed as all 3 council races combined, are there really enough humans to occupy and defend all that space? clearly not if the batarians are a problem
>>4013717>why does the systems alliance have as much space claimed as all 3 council races combined?Humans got a head start in the Galactic Arms Race, an unfair technological advantage over in aliens per discovering the Mars Archives. Even the Geth (Centuries more advanced than us) shit their synthetic pants when they see a single M35 Mako effortlessly mowing down their platoons to dust because the Geth never discovered the Mars Archives, Humans did. Meaning Humans can flex on the Geth and the Council with our N35 Nakos! God bless the Prothean race for mysteriously gifting our race with such sheer firepower! pic related
>>4013673>you can end up with Grunt deadGrunt being dead is so wasteful. He has potential as an enemy faction leader whose forces control well over 50% of the Milky Way at the start of ME4. Imo it would be pretty based to play ME4 in a setting coinciding with "The 2nd Krogan Rebellions" with Grunt being well-known throughout the Galaxy as some feared hostile warlord for over 100 years. And with a bounty of $50,000,000 credits Grunt is wanted dead-or-alive for over 400 charges of active destruction of Galactic Civilization (at Darth Malak tier resolve)
>>4013835>Grunt being dead is so wastefulProof of how good bioware's writing was for the series
>>4013835me on the right
>>4013087It's been a while since I played the ME series.>MordinProbably one of the most likeable "mad scientist" characters in video games. Has a very compelling, Malthusian ethical dilemma (though the game's binary morality hurts it). Feels like he exists outside of being a squad member.>LiaraSeverely over hated because of her status as the creator's pet. Grows over all three games and has the best romantic story out of all the cast. Is a little player-sexual but whatever, it's a game.>WrexI almost put him in A because he's obnoxiously flanderized in 3's DLC. He still is one of the best companions in 1 and has pretty major story significance going onwards.>MirandaShe's just solid and a better human female companion than Ashley. She doesn't seem to believe too strongly in the Cerberus stuff, even before her character development.>JackStarts out like Riddick, has an eye-catching design and her companion mission is more emotionally invested than "kill my dad.">GarrusHe's really cool in 1, cool until recruited in 2 and then falls off hard into 3. All I can recall is him constantly fucking around with Tali in 3 if you don't romance her.>ThaneThey tried a little too hard to make another "cool" edgy companion like Garrus. I felt like his whole existence was for forced emotions.>ZaeedHe's actually really cool and reminds me of a BG2 type companion.>JavikHonestly forget everything about him besides him showcasing the Prothean morality and does some lore dumps. Still, interesting for the series to have him.>LegionHe's like Javik but they hardly do anything with him. Honestly could be a C tier but having a Geth companion is just too cool to rate lower.
>>4013891>TaliHas 2 minutes of dialog in 1, is pretty good in 2 and then they flanderized her as a quirk chungus in 3. Couldn't stand her>Meat McHugeLiterally just a soldier, but inoffensive.>AshleyHer best moment is sending her with the alien spec ops in Virmire in 1. The rest of the series she's barely a character.>GruntI hate my creator!! Was he even in 3 I can't remember>EDIFelt like a porn game character. Despite her whole existence being about showing synthetic/machine in love with an organic, her existence isn't relevant in the debate with the reapers about the alleged incompatibility between the two. That's a flaw of 3's writing though, same as how they ignore if you united the Geth and Quarians.>KaidanNo comment but he was one of the better companions in 1. It's like a fixed Carth.>KasumiI just remember her being a cunt. I could be wrong.>JacobNotoriously bad and strong contender for the worst companion in the series. Actually unlikeable at many points, especially if you romanced him as femshep but I never played femshep.>SamaraExists to force more worldbuilding and her entire character is just a lore dump. Her daughter is worse. I should have probably put him over Jacob because her design makes me very horny.
>>4013891>>4013895>her companion mission is more emotionally invested than "kill my dad."I'm pretty sure Jacob, Morinth, Wrex and Miranda were pretty emotionally invested in killing their dads and didn't take the situation casually. I like that Jacob kills his dad in a story-telling sense because it makes him feel blacker. What would you prefer for Jacob's loyalty mission? Shepard running around convincing everybody on the Normandy SR2 that Jacob earned his rank through the meritocracy and isn't just there as some token black quota crewmate so Jacob doesn't have a panic attack and cry?>I just remember her being a cuntHer character is she's miserable after Donovan Hock murdered her boyfriend so to cope she vents out her anger by being a cunt to Burt, Shepard, Legion, Rupert, Joker, EDI everybody. Being a cunt is her character but deep down she's not so bad>Mordin>Feels like he exists outside of being a squad memberIt feels like Mordin is the only character on Shepard's level, if not an even higher level of Galactic Importance>Kaidan>Like a fixed CarthCarth was never broken>SamaraThe thing about Samara is she is Shepard's most loyal squadmate. For example if Shepard tells Samara to kill herself she HAS TO do it whereas every other squadmate would tell Shepard to fuck off in this situation>GruntNope sadly there was was no Krogan squadmate in ME3 another major letdown. Grunt appears in one side mission to fight Rachni Husks and again in Citadel DLC that's it
>>4013891Only one I'd probably heavily disagree with is EDI. She feels like a companion in 1 with how well she's written and throughout the rest of the series has some genuinely great and deep conversations with Shep about humanity, etc. Her and Joker are cute too, good for him.I don't see how she's below Zaeed, lel. That is an extremely, extremely bland and safe bad guy.
>>4014072Zaeed could be great if he weren't a half-baked DLC companion.
>>4013978>deep down she's not so badDon't forget she lusts after Jacob.
>>4014111She only does that to be a cunt to Shepard
>>4014112Big if true
>WrexxGood development though games, lots of options, good in combat, good conversations>SamaraNailed the Asari matriarch with centuries of combat experience feel, big tits, good background, good as a squadmate, good development in 3>GruntHe is exactly what you'd expect from a young krogan, good in combat, good conversations>GarrusGood development overall, good as a squadmate>JackNot my cup of tea but she develops well as the story progresses>ZaeedSame as Grunt, crushes on Samara so that means he has good taste, good in combat, not a lot of interactions desu>TaliGood but not my cup of tea, good development in 2 and 3>LiaraA bit obnoxious in 1, but good development in 2 and 3, good in combat mostly>MordinHe's good>EDIGood overall>MirandaGood character, competent, good as squadmate>ThaneGood development, i appreciate he's not obnoxiously religious>LegionInteresting but introduced too late>AshleyME1-2 Ash is A tier, ME3 is B at best>VegaSurprisingly decent, only shows up in 3>JavikHe's ok but not really my cup of tea>KatsumiInteresting idea, not enough interactions, it's good that in 3 she tells you that she ain't a good squadmate for combat fighting>KadianBland version of Vega>JacobLore accurate? Not that interesting, bland version of Kadian.
>>4013395>zaeed is bigger chad than garrusI played it like 7 years ago and remember fuck all, so maybe yeah.
>>4013446>>4013453Timeskip aint happening niggas, last N7 day confirmed that they're figuring out the romances as one of 3 big parts of what they mentioned they're focusing on. It would be arbitrary to mention romances after a timeskip when everyone romancable is dead except Liara and Samara, yet not say instead plot/story or even just characters/companions. The specificity of it being romances that's mentioned Plus Wrex confirmed alive at the geth crater with random ass aliens during a krogan civil war doesn't make sense, but would totally make sense if Tali is alive and she asks for his help since she loves him like a surrogate uncle by the end of ME3.These spoilers talking about a 700 timeskip have been scrapped and based off of less spoilers that are more blurry and 4 year old news if you follow the spoilers.Bioware needs an easy win hence sticking with characters that work rather than putting all their chips thinking they can just make a whole bunch of new characters.
>>4014805>Timeskip aint happening niggasIt absolutely is happening, I don't know what you're talking about. Considering that you can zoom in on the 2023 N7 day poster and see Angara visible on it, that means we're at least 650 years into the future, and that's me being generous. Refer to the picrel for more info.>It would be arbitrary to mention romances after a timeskipHave you considered that they were talking about romancing other people than the OG ones? Sure, they could've phrased it differently in the latest N7 day blog post and said they're focusing on writing interesting characters instead of figuring out romances, but Bioware fans usually equate the two.>Plus Wrex confirmed alive at the geth craterWhat? Where did you get that from?>These spoilers talking about a 700 timeskip have been scrappedAgain, what are your sources?>Bioware needs an easy winWhich is why they're trying to go back to ME now. They need the brand recognition but not the baggage. We're almost two decades away from the release of Mass Effect 1, and people who played it when they were high schoolers are now into their early to mid thirties. Nostalgia bait will work on some of them, but you can bet your ass they aren't focused on winning that audience back. Younger crowds might not remember the ME3 endings debacle or even how Andromeda fell flat on its face in attempt to revive the franchise, so starting fresh with them isn't a bad choice.
>>4013347Miranda has less character development than her sister
>>4014805>It would be arbitrary to mention romances after a timeskip when everyone romancable is dead exceptExcept what if Jack suddenly GOES CRAZY and crashes another space station into an important moon again because she's still a fucking maniac? It'd probably result in her doing hard time in the number of double digit life sentences in some suspicious prison (slave market?) operated by a mercenary army twice in a lifetime! I figure the Warden would quickly get tired of Jack bullying all his other prisoners (slaves?) so he'd stuff her in the cryogenic freezer for 7,000 years to teach her manners. Everybody wins. Except Jack. Who will learn nothing because Shepard would presumably launch a rescue mission after a 70 year timeskip because he needs more pawns for more suicide missions>geth crater with random ass aliens during a krogan civil war doesn't make senseA robotic revolution wouldn't slow down a Krogan revolution, if anything it'd speed up a Krogan revolution because the Krogan would want to capitalize on the chaos the Geth are causing by creating even more chaos while the Galaxy is distracted. If it were that simple they wouldn't have needed to deploy the Genophage in the first place, they could just intentionally unleash a hostile race of machines to terrorize the Galaxy and politely ask the Krogan to stop it and they'd say:>"Oh? Our asteroid bombardment war crimes are distracting you from waging war against the synthetics? Sorry, we had no idea we were burdening you. In that case I suppose we'll calm down and behave like grownups. I'll call my lawyer right now actually. Let's go tackle some paperwork to sign a Formal Truce at which point me and the other 4 trillion members of my race will all kindly fuck off back to Tuchanka I guess...">>4014839>AngaraIdk that word. I assume it's like an itchy Mexican sexual STD disease or something, right? Wtf is Angara? No offense but I forgot how to speak Spanish recently
>>4014967>Oriana Lawson has more development than her cloneI wouldn't go that far. But it's clear Miranda has the least development of any shipmate. During her creation she was excessively groomed & programmed from-the-ground-up to consider herself as nothing more than a tool to be used by big guys. The problem is Henry's plan backfired massively because her psychological conditioning resulted in her being compelled to serve as a tool for only the most powerful wielders. When she was about 13 as soon as she realized TIM's powerlevel exceeds her father's she immediately broke up with him and jumped into bed with Cerberus. Then about 2 decades later when she realized Shepard's powerlevel exceeds TIM's she immediately broke up with him and jumped into bed with the Commander. Shepard never actually fixed her he just banged her, which didn't exactly play out too well for Henry and TIM in the long run. It's an endless cycle. If Miranda ever meets a Human more powerful than Shepard she'll quickly volunteer to serve as his or her loyal tool immediately breaking up with you jumping into the bed of a bigger fish. It's a big Galaxy. There's always a bigger fish somewhere
>>4015538That's what happened to Jacobhe was supposed to be the protagonist of ME2 when the trilogy was still an anthology then his game became an iphone game and Miranda moved on to the dutch canadian
>>4013113It really is crazy how Ashley is just Garrus #2. I don't think I've ever rolled ME3 as hard as when I just ran the two of them with Typhoons
>>4013341it's really funny how she got bimbofied in ME2/3
>>4013087>Wrex in S tierI made that insubordinate faggot suck start a shotgun in ME1 and never gave him another thought >Any alien in S or A tier. This thread in a fucking embarrassment. Bunch of slack jawed spacers simping for colored alien puss.I just wish there were more batarians for me to genocide and citadel councils to sacrifice.Sheppard out
>>4016163>Mordin?!>S Tier!?Okay . . How about you just go invent your own mechanism to circumvent Collector Seeker swarms if you're so smart, Human? Good luck bro
>>4014839Theyve already used timetravel/wormholes/timewarps as a bullshit Mcguffin in Andromeda, I don't see why they would force a timeskip to include Angara when they could just use already used Mcguffin so the rest of the cast can stay alive.
>>4015463Why the fuck is Liara so low>>4014967>>4015538Miranda is pretty much objectively the only decently written human companion and by consensus subjectively the most likeable human companion.Quitting cerberus regardless if you fuck her or not when destroying the human reaper in ME2 is a top 5, if not top 10 trilogy moment for me. That moment alone gave her more character development than any human companion.
>>4013282Pretty much everyone on AssNtiddy has decent character development except Miranda. Fuckin Javik is only there for half of the last game. There's barely even time for him to have a character.
>>4013717Protheans had humans pegged as the clear winner of the next cycle 50k years ago. Even though we were no great shakes compared to them. That basically makes the other council races retarded flipper babies who only look impressive because Athame gave the Asari endgame tech immediately at the start of the cycle.
>>4015537>>4015538>man that plays as femshep and posts femshep memesRetard.Great way to warrant someone to imnediately disregard your opinions, thanks for saving our time.
>>4017233>Miranda is pretty much objectively the only decently written human companionI never said Operative Lawson is poorly written. Her writing is solid. What I said is she has the least development of any squadmate. Miranda giving TIM the finger and quitting Cerberus is not "development" strictly speaking, it's Miranda continuing to do exactly what she was programmed to do, what she will always do... She's designed to see herself as a tool to be used by big shots, Henry was just too arrogant to realize that there are bigger men in the Galaxy than himself when he was creating his daughterfu clone. As soon as she realized TIM is a bigger guy than Henry she did not "develop" by abandoning her dad to join Cerberus, she just obeyed her programming, functioning as intended by design. And when she quit Cerberus shortly after realizing Shepard is a bigger guy than TIM that wasn't "development" either, it's continuous stagnation on her part. If she ever meets a bigger guy (assuming guys THAT big even exist) than Shepard, guess what will happen? She'll give Shepard the finger next and quit his crew to join forces with Mister Big to be his tool next! Because she never "developed", she's still trapped in her endless vicious cycle>>4017249>man that posts femshep memesOh is posting smoking hot babes on 4chan considered gay now? My bad nigger I had no idea I was gaying up the place. Far be it from me to violate standard protocol, won't happen again bro>man that plays as femshepMy Shepards aren't self-insert clones of my own persona. When I'm in the character creator I use a random number generator to select race, gender, background and combat class to mix things up a bit
>>4013087Only S tier is Garrus who might be a contender for best rpg companion of all time>>4013341Liara looks even worse in ME2 until Shadowbroker when she suddenly gets her best appearence in the series
i remember i played all three mass effect games in a row and i didnt end up thinking 3 was all that bad. i genuinely believe the wait between titles and the hype build up completely trashed the game's reputation. sure the choose your color ending is lame i thought the game as a trilogy held up well. i also watched the matrix trilogy one after the other and thought it was fine too.
>>4019239Not an rpg
>>40193033 was goated tbqh I'd you played extended ending dlc and treat citadel dlc as Canon ending. Also with mods just takes it over the top
>>4019303There were a lot of enjoyable points in 3, but what it did to the franchise universe was an atrocity. 2 and 3 were both extremely poor stewardship.
>>4019239>Liara looks even worse in ME2 until Shadowbroker when she suddenly gets her best appearence in the seriesShe's only good when Weekes is writing the script.
>>4019239>Garrus >Who might be a contender for the most overrated RPG companion of all timeFtfy. Garrus isn't THAT good. He's not bad or anything either, but there is no logical reason for some players to worship him as if he's the 2nd coming of Christ. Decent but nowhere near GOAT tier>>4019407>HERP DERP THE EXTENDED CUT DLC IMPROVES THE ENDINGNo, it makes the ending even worseDid Vorcha hands type this post or something? How much gasoline did your mother huff when she was pregnant? The Extended Cut DLC is a direct downgrade of the original ending, not an upgrade you dumb fucking know-nothing airhead savage. Never post in a Mass Effect thread again, run home to your mother and drink some gasoline together like the filthy Vorcha insects you are
>>4013087never played this but the female aliens look so ugly
>>4013087Wrex is overrated. He's not a "ride or die" bro, despite appearances. He consistently puts himself and his goals above yours, unlike Garrus, Tali or Liara. And his goals just happen to be giving his race the capability to attempt to genocide the galaxy again.>>4013123Kaidan is a bore and only exists to add flesh and bone to the setting's eponymous Mass Effect technology. Otherwise he's just an uninteresting person who whines a lot like Carth. Alistair from DA but without any of the charm. Ashley is a very grounded character who lends a significant amount of realism to the setting, since she has spiritual beliefs (absent in most sci-fi) and has a healthy suspicion for alien races (realistic and absent in much sci-fi). She is a very Babylon 5 character, which is ME's biggest sci-fi inspiration among visual media.>>4019407ME3 is hot garbage except for Rannoch and Tuchanka. And even those are flawed. Read Shamus Young's blogposts on it for the best dissection. The Citadel DLC is probably the only thoroughly good part of that game.
>>4013446If it’s time skip how is Shepard coming back? are they going to bring him back to life again?
>>4014805Please god make the new mass effect good. I better see Liara with my little blue children after she got pregnant at the end of mass effect 3.
>>4015538Human woman love Hypergamy. This is why I avoid human foids and only love Asari.
>>4019407I played 3 w/o dlc and it was the best in the trilogy
>>4019219All human woman are like Miranda tho
Going to go replay mass effect LE. What are some good mods?
>>4021518>What are some good mods?I personally used these for my last playthrough of the series - most of them are just cosmetic but there are a few major ones for ME3's story:>ME1LE1 Community Patch - bug fixes ectSaren stages - cosmetic mod that introduces early forms of Saren before his heavy Geth implants>ME2LE2 Patch - also fixes minor bugsCerberus Ladies Wear Cerberus - returns Cerberus uniforms to female Normandy crewmembers + includes the option to give Kelly her hair from the original gameOriana looks like Miranda's Twin - mod does what it's calledEGM Fix Weapons in Cutscenes - dittoFemshep Helmet Clipping Fix and Death Mask Fix - ditto>ME3LE3 Community Framework and Patch - bug fixes and all kinds of neat improvements (eg. weapons you equipped show in cutscenes)Restore 3-stage melee - Bioware apparently being mega retards somehow managed to mess this up in LE so the mod returns the heavy melee animationDreams Remade - Really nice mod that just makes the dreams sequences more contextual and impactfulAshley Consistency Project (MELE3) - Makes Ash look more like her ME1 selfOriana looks like Miranda's Twin (ME3LE) - mod does what it's calledSamara's Daughters - makes Rila and Falere look like SamaraMEHEM aka Mass Effect Happy Ending Mod - Removes the entire Starchild section and makes Destroy (Survive) canon. Some people pair it with the Citadel Epilogue mod, so you can check that one out. There are graphical overhaul mods for all three games, so slap them on as well. Also, there were some nice mods released after I'd finished my playthroughs I wish I had installed, e.g. one of them restoring cut ME1 content and such, another one adding melee attacks and weapons from ME3MP to ME2 or allowing you to change dodge animations in ME3 or holster your weapons at will. You'll have to go to NexusMods and do some digging of your own for that.
>>4021494>If it’s time skip how is Shepard coming back? That's the neat part - they aren't. Shepard will almost certainly be referenced but in vague enough terms that everyone's individual choices will be respected. Like "they beat the Reapers and had to make a lot of hard choices" sort of nothingburger.
>>4021626Thanks will try this for my next vanguard run. Also I’m hoping Glyph comes back for the next mass effect game. It wouldn’t be the same without him.
>>4021630Okay but BioWare would be retarded to do a time skip. They are one more flop away from being closed by EA. The safest and logical would be to wheel out the old cast with Shepard and sell mass effect 5 based on nostalgic characters. If they do it without ruining the characters it’s an easy win for them. Why would they risk doing something else?
I just like space tackling people with my shotgun, I don't care about romance
>>4022121Are you a crusader Chad, this is the only shotgun I use. All the chads from Torfan use it.
>>4022121man playing soldier was so much fun never using cover and dodging everything in bullet time
>>4013087>Garrus not SSS+>Tali not SKill yourself OP
>>4022120What time skip does is allow minimal amount of trilogy choices to be relevant for the story depending on how long of a skip we're talking about, and that makes making a new game easier.>EndingDestroy is almost all but confirmed, what could matter is overall readiness points>Romance options and companionsIf they lived or died, who was the romance option and status>HumanityWhether council was saved or not>Overall galaxy stateKrogan and genophage status, Geth and Quarian status, Rachni, Leviathan DLC completion maybe?Other choices could be optional if they allow importing of me3, or maybe andromeda states.
>>4021518>>4021626Don't forget Miranda mod in ME3, fixes it so she joins the crew towards end of ME3 as was initially scripted.
im replaying me1 right now on insanity and garrus keeps getting fucking instagib'd almost every big encounter
>>4023518im thinking i might swap him out for ashley or tali for the next playthrough
>>4023518>>4023523>Garrus keeps getting his fucking ass kicked!>Wtf?>????Idk. Maybe because Kaiden is twice as based as Garrus and given how much drastic unbelievable levels of pressure Bioware was under from their higher-ups to make ME3 woke they should've turned Garrus into the token gay quota guy instead sacrificing Major Gayden Alenko?t. Casey Hudson
>>4022130>this is the only shotgun I useTry out using Reegar Carbine enhanced with Explosive Ammo on a Vanguard, you'll thank me later. Also a Venom Shotgun or any class really.>>4023510>Don't forget Miranda mod in ME3Does she have actual dialogue in and outside of missions or is she behaving like the Armax Arsenal Arena squaddie? >she joins the crew towards end of ME3 as was initially scripted.Well, if she joins only after Horizon, then I can see why she wasn't added. Without DLCs, you would generally get to have her for the Cerberus Base mission and whatever side-mission on multiplayer maps you decided to not finish by that time.
>>4023783It gives her way more dialogue. Just try it mah nigga
Canon tier list incoming:Those who can guess which character the most bottom tier is based off of gets a cookie.
https://youtu.be/05Q41fQFIAg?si=uI6qzHyyWqulPgtkInteresting hypothesis video for ME4
>>4024474Will keep it in mind for any of my future playthroughs, thanks.>>4024511Yeah, I completely tuned out after he claimed that the Krogan civil war was actually a galactic civil war. Unless you can summarize for me what his hypothesis for ME4 plot is, I won't bother with listening the rest.
>>4023518Take Liara and signality max. That power is op.
>>4024511I don't fucking speak Salarian what is this crap?>>4024632>Krogan Civil War?>Or Galactic Civil War?I'm not sure which side outnumbered which during the Krogan Rebellions. If we're being generous it was a 50/50 split but the Krogan likely outnumbered every other race by a wide margin before the Genophage. A Civil War implies 50% of the Galaxy is fighting the other 50%. Given that the Krogan probably vastly outnumbered everyone else it'd actually be more accurate to call it "The Alien Rebellions" instead of "The Krogan Rebellions" given we were in the minority>>4024787>signalityIt's called Singularity, the most powerful biotic attack move in the Lore. Charge is impressive too though you alter the mass of your own body to a fraction of it's usual proportions so you can race at enemies at light speed for Massive damage>Bang Liara in all 3 gamesAsari sex is gay imo. They may "look like" women to the Human eye but when you embrace eternity Liara is essentially turning Shepard into a half man/half woman for the duration while Shepard is essentially turning Liara into a half woman/half man too. Don't you catch the drift of 2 induvials linking up their central nervous systems to enjoy some alien mind sex? It's not just some spiritual emotional link, it extends into the physical realm too. This means the Commander is well aware of what is own asshole tastes like since he can taste everything Liara tastes! When he invades her farthole with his big Human cock Shepard is experiencing it from both ends of the spectrum, his pleasure AND her painal! Shepard is literally taking his own cock up his own cute little blue butt when he bangs Liara and if that isn't gay idk what is! If we lived in the 22nd Century Citadel there'd be millions of "conspiracy theories" posted on the extranets every minute highlighting the horrific Asari-to-tranny pipeline. I should go, a young Space Jewlord is delivering pizza I never ordered which I'll generously tip with a Singularity
as a soldier, bringing Liara and EDI on missions means you get all the best dialogue and a solid balance of powers
>>4024814Sex with Asari is nothing like that.
>>4024632>Krogan civil war was actually a galactic civil war.If you're talking about the Krogan Rebellion, that actually is the definition of a civil war. Wherein 2 parties fight over the same seat of government. They probably avoided the term 'civil war' because American education has brainwashed people with a totally nonsensical definition. >>4024814>A Civil War implies 50% of the Galaxy is fighting the other 50%Not really. You could have men at arms fighting a peasant army 20x their size for the same capitol and it's still a civil war. Probably the Asari population all in was a lot bigger than the Krogan, but they don't make many fighters.
Why can't Shepard command Traynor that she's not allowed to beat him in chess? He issues a command to Ken, Gabby and Tali that they're not allowed to beat him in Skyllian-Five poker. And how come they never invented a better board game than chess by 2186? Shouldn't they be playing Skyllian-Five chess or something?Does anybody else think it's the biggest plothole in the Trilogy that Shepard loses to a woman in chess? It's almost like she used to be a man and/or Shepard was suffering from the early phases of Indoctrination sickness by that point, but even than it doesn't add up. Even a completely Indoctrinated Shepard should presumably be able to beat EDI, Bobby Fischer, David Archer and Legion in chess at the same time with one hand tied behind his back yet somehow he miraculously gets his ass kicked against a perverted Indian man pretending to be a lesbian (or "transbian" as the kids call it)? How is that possible? Shepard's lucky Udina didn't revoke his SPECTRE status after that embarrassment because the only character in the Trilogy who should be able to beat Shepard at chess is Professor Solus>>4025103You forgot Jenkins and you accidentally swapped Zaeed and Garrus spots
>>4025290>Probably the Asari population all in was a lot bigger than the KroganSalarians outnumber Asari. First of all according to planet scanning Sur'Kesh has double the population of Thessia. Secondly the average Asari woman only produces about 1 offspring every 50-to-100 years, whereas the average Salarian woman lays dozens of eggs per year as the entirety of Salarian culture revolves around eugenics programs in which males are perpetually competing with each other trying to secure high level reproduction contractsBy the early 2180s the only race who might outnumber the Salarians are the Vorcha because the entirety of Vorcha cultures revolves around rape, nearly every male Vorcha age 3 and up is a very experienced serial rapist. And they're too primitive to invent any mechanism of birth control, in fact very few Vorcha are even aware that sex makes babies, most Vorcha just incorrectly assume females pop babies out randomly without any external stimulus involvedIf you cure the Genophage in ME3, Krogan will probably outnumber the entire Galaxy at least 100-to-1 within the span of 1 Human generation despite their notoriously high rates of cannibalism and murder. They mature incredibly quickly and one Krogan female lays about 1,000 eggs per year
If krogan were not uplifted by salarians next cycle would likely be a long war between yahg and krogan
>>4025993Are you assuming the Yahg uplift the Krogan? The Yahg are more likely to genocide the Krogan by bombarding them from orbit with hundreds of asteroid strikes as per some silly macho overstatement to assert their dominance over cavemen because Yahg culture/biology is permanently stuntedAnd how exactly would the Krogan uplift themselves to the stars without Salarian assistance? Even if the Krogan ever did manage to escape their second round in the Stone Age they'd first re-invent nukes again long before they could figure out how to invent space ships which could reach the Aralakh Mass Relay. And just like the first time they invented nukes history would quickly repeat itself. They'd blast their world into a 3rd Stone Age mere hours after splitting the atom again. Unless uplifted by aliens this Krogan nuclear cycle will continue ad Infinium because any rare scientists that the Krogan do possess within their ranks only like to invent things that explode and consider everything else (such as space travel) to be a frivolous waste of time and resources
>>4026203Krogan were uplifted about 2 millennia ago. If that didn't happen and they got left alone in this cycle, they could get to eezo tech
>>4026670Humans invented nuclear weapons in 1945, and 80 years later we still haven't invented space ships which can reach our Mass Relay near Pluto, because nuclear weapons are much easier to invent than space-faring vessels of that caliberHumans have enough restraint to last over a century without nuking ourselves back to the stone age. Whereas the Krogan will instantly destroy their whole world 2 weeks after inventing nukes. Without alien intervention, the Krogan can never reach their space age because they can never survive their nuclear age. Even if the Krogan reach their nuclear age 100 times over the course of a million years they'll never survive it long enough to construct space ships
