Ahh yes, we've been expecting you. You'll have to be recorded before you're officially released.https://mwclassquiz.pythonanywhere.com/
>>4017942>Sorcererwouldn't have it any other way especially in Morrowind, I wouldn't even have to touch anything but Enchant and Conjuration
>>4017942I got Agent. I've actually never done a playthrough as one, might be fun.Major skills are>Speechcraft>Sneak>Acrobatics>Light Armor>ShortbladeMinor skills are>Mercantile>Conjuration>Block>Unarmored>IllusionKind of looks jank at first glance, but each category has a good mix of skills that are practical to use and benefit from being high level, and skills that are easy to level solely from trainers. Block feels like an odd choice for that class' theme and armour type, though.
lol. i always play unarmed unarmored
>>4017942I can live with this. Tho I think I was trade out Blunt Weapons or Destruction for Mysticism.>>4017962I've always loved Morrowind's take/explaination of Sorcerers.>>4018019Really?
>>4018659
>>4017942I like the flavor but the extra useless weapon skill pains me
>>4019141Marksman is weird on Battlemage because it doesn't really fit the fantasy. They should have had Restoration instead.
>>4019141>>4019179Feels like they did that on a lot of classes, I guess figuring people would pick which of them to go with, but... then you just have a wasted skill slot. And there's never any incentive to swap between weapons, even ranged/melee, because of how the combat works. Say what you will about the more action-focused combat later, but at least you actually COULD have a backup weapon of a different type without feeling like you're sucking shit.Shout out to Warrior with FIVE weapon skills (and two armor skills), poor bastard
>>4019190i think it was just expected as part of the game design to use magic/enchants/scrolls as your secondary/support skill. people say it all the time but some variation of a battlemage is generally the 'make the most of it' build for morrowind. the stealth archer of tes 3 if you will
>>4019190I found Axe + Long Blade to be worth levelling on my Battlemage playthrough. There are some really powerful artifacts of both weapon types and your weapon progression in a blind run tends to be pretty hopscotch, so I appreciated being able to use both kinds decently.Marksman just stick out on that class because you already have Destruction for long-range damage and it's an Agility skill on a STR/INT class. I suppose that means your levelling can be a bit more diverse, but it still feels random for flavour.
with the caveat that Enchant is maxxed
Scout! This was also the result I received when I took the in-game test. >It must be destiny!Definitely my least favorite class, but not for lack of trying to use it! My biggest problem was that you'd get stuck in grave hallways, or in a smuggler's den, and not have anywhere to get away from opponents (in order to pick them off) like in, say, Skyrim. Or I'd be trying to back up while shooting an enemy and get stuck against the geometry because I couldn't look behind me :/>Would be easier to play if climbing were still a skill like in Daggerfall, in my opinion.
>>4019956Alteration is the school of Jump and Levitate, anon
>>4019963I'm so dumb. I never once thought of doing that. Well, just another reason to start a new playthrough of Morrowind. Thanks, anon!
>>4017942
>>4019986The coolest class for lore / building a backstory / roleplaying, in my opinion.
I let chatgpt make up a story, class and arbitrary restrictions or quirks to follow for my character and roleplay it for the rest of the game
>>4019986Always found it interesting the two classes focused on Conjuration/Enchant are Sorcerer (with the single most negative description of all the classes, basically calling them all egomaniacal assholes) and the Witchhunter (who of course has Sorcerers as one of primary targets)
>>4019194Morrowind and Oblivion both were magewarrior games. Skyrim finally gave more incentive to go with pure archetypes.
>>4020085I dunno, I felt plenty incentive in the fun I had playing pure whatever in Morrowind
>>4018019No you don't. Even at max stats + enchanted gear bonuses it takes a decade to kill a single armored NPC.
>>4020137
>>4017942damn
>>4020161bard is an awesome class, especially with the instrument mods they have now
>>4019179>>4019141Battlemages are wizards warrior, and archery is a skill used by warriors even if it is in the thief lineuo.. In Morrowind you could conjure weapons, including a daedric bow which was the best in the game. Add to that your main summons and you had a way to deal with magic reflecting creatures at reange while your summoned creatures acted as meatshield.Battlemage was perhaps the best premade since it was strong out of the box and stayed strong at all point in the game. Early game you had a combination of conjured battleaxe+summon+destruction to deal with pretty much anything the game threw at you. Late game you had longswords ( some of the best artifacts are ls), archery and even more meatshields. Alteration was your swiss knife to deal with pretty much any non combat encounters, from opening chest to jumping from one end of the island to another. They dont make'em liek they sued to.
>>4020161Alchemy as a Major skill feel a bit weird considering some of their Minor skills.
>>4020168You know, I was never that big on the more modern connection between bards and music specifically, when it was the poetry that had a far more important role, whether delivered in song or otherwise.
>>4020228NtaWell the bard class description does have a lute right there.. But on unmodded TES my bard roleplaying is limited to collecting tales
>>4017942Welp, I guess its only right. I do love stealthing around and putting shanks into people backside rather than place arrows in the back of their heads
>>4020228Honestly my biggest gripe with the fantasy interpretation of the Bard is the fact they have magic. They literally should just be able to buff and debuff by theatrical recital.Actually PoE's Chanter is a pretty decent bard-like class. Literally recounting tails and history so immersivly that reality thinks it's actually happening and produces tangible effects. So I guess Bards being magical isn't my issue but them being magical in the sense they are in DnD.>>4020176Dude, hallucinogens, lol, lmaoBut yeah I think I would make it a minor skill and change security out for sneak and medium armor out for light.
>>4020176I think it makes sense from a loremaster perspective where they know all about plants rather than the potion brewing side of Alchemy.
>>4020632>So I guess Bards being magical isn't my issue but them being magical in the sense they are in DnD.In the early editions they had abilities correlating to recital and representation, their spellcasting power being a kind of side benefit of their quest for knowledge. In fact the first iteration of the bardic class was had druidic spellcasting class and not an arcnae one, owing to their roots in celtic mythology. As far as Scrolls are concerned, the Daggerfall iteration was a kind of circus clown able to do all sorts of thing, and I guess the Morrowind one is more akin to a Nordic Skald.
>>4017942in terms of the actual game, I always pick Spellsword but then I end up building and doing non-Spellsword things. I start with Spear because of wanting to build Endurance as fast as possible for more health each level-up.I also do as much alchemy as possible right away. Alchemy is almost game-breakingly overpowered. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
>>4020964>SpellswordGay ass reddit class
I'm too spergy to be a bard. Maybe I could be a bard whose gimmick is that he doesn't speak.
>>4021421>I'm too spergy to be a bard. Maybe I could be a bard whose gimmick is that he doesn't speak.
>>4017962I love Sorcerer, and Enchant for that matter, but I'm still eternally annoyed by the fact the best way to be a giga-caster is to... not be one, and instead just max Enchant and keep like thirty magic rings and amulets you can swap on the fly to cast whatever you want.I mean you CAN reach the pinnacle of arcane might normally but it takes way longer and takes forever to feel good. Not to mention you end up at level fuck you by the time you reach good levels in all your magic skills, with Enchant focus you get to pace yourself however you want.
>>4021421A writer, a chronicler
I don't think I can play Morrowind again because I've had such a great play through last time with such a great arc for my character that I couldn't replicate the joy I was feeling nor look at the world through any eyes other than his. I guess his dad had wanted for him to join the Legion but for some reason I didn't think too much of (I figure prophecy) he became a thief instead and when caught he got shipped to Morrowind at the orders of the Emperor. He joined the Thieves Guild for some quick cash and soon enough he realized that really what he was doing was working to strengthen the Empire's presence in Morrowind. He got his priorities straight and started working for Caius but he'd postpone joining with the Legion because he felt some intrinsic guilt about it (that is, until I decided to respec and start leveling up knightly stats), joined Hlaalu, arrested the corrupt Dunmer, became an associate of the Mages Guild, killed Dagoth in the name of the Emperor and retired at Raven Rock, the colony he'd built with his close Imperial friend. Truly, an agent of the Emperor and the perfect representation of a subversive but well meaning Blade. The only other time I came up with a story just as nearly as cohesive was when I made an Altmer Sorcerer Assassin whose main interest was wealth but it bothered me that I had to live in a mushroom rather than on the Ascadian Isles. Suran is kino.
>>4017942>Your result is... mage!Damn right it is.Although it's a real mixed bag in Morrowind. On the one hand, there's some cool spells that let you feel like a big magic man... on the other a lot of the rest feel extremely whatever, for a variety of reasons. Custom spells help a lot of course, but even then...
>>4021699>that is, until I decided to respecStopped reading here
>>4021737respec as in spend a lot of money on trainers and practice my skills with easy quests. i didn't use console commands and fuck you i wont have you question the integrity of my roleplaying
>>4017942Monk.
>>4021692I think it's a really cool progression and a logical thing for a mage to do. Your magic skills give you access to being able to competently cast a massive range of spells, but eventually you enchant rings and items with your most commonly used spells so you don't have to spend effort on manually casting them and your magicka pool becomes used for situational spells. It's very Sauron.
>>4022056Sure. Cool as an idea. Doesn't mean it always feels good, though, or that it makes for very good design to have six skills rapidly made obsolete by just one. And that's really the thing, it's not as "eventually" as it probably ought to be. Basically off the boat you can snag shitty soul gems, trap random trash, and probably enchant a ring to blast enemies better than a spell you could reliably cast. Sure if you enchant it yourself you need to deal with the RNG, but it's not a big problem. And that's without getting into what you can get up to with those gems lying around in the Balmora mage guild if you care to.
>>4020632This is why bards are the biggest waste in skyrim. Like how retarded must todd howard be not to see the connection between barding and the thumRethorical question. I know that nigga is stupid
>>4030696How is it a waste
>>4020632The biggest problem with bards is the kind of people that want to play bards
>>4017942I got scoutScouts rely on stealth to survey routes and opponents, using ranged weapons and skirmish tactics when forced to fight. By contrast with barbarians, in combat scouts tend to be cautious and methodical, rather than impulsive.Specialization: CombatAttributes: Speed, EnduranceMajor skills: Sneak Long Blade Medium Armor Athletics BlockMinor skills: Marksman Alchemy Alteration Light Armor UnarmoredFunny enough I think I got scout first time I played Morrowind desu ne
>>4017942Barbarian, was not expecting that
>>4030716What even are bards for in skyrim? Cant even sing songs or play instruments. They should have made the "quest" integrated into the dragon shouts. At least give it a buff
Witch hunter?
I, too, got Witchhhunter. I'm pleased because this is what my self-insert was, a Nord who likes to snipe mabrigash and daedra worshippers before hitting the skooma pipe and going down on some Khajiit pussy.
>>4017942HUH!? ARE YOU DETAINING ME? AM I FREE TO LEAVE!? I'D LIKE A LAWYER...I DON'T ANSWER QUESTIONS
>>4017942interesting...
I do like almost everything about this class. Except sneak because stealth sucks ass in Morrowind.
>>4031633sneak worksyou just need a way to apply a very slight amount of chameleon if you want it to be completely reliable even just 10-15% is more than enough if youre specced rightif you take a decent race like bosmer, or khajiit and spec into AGI and/or take the lover sign and LCK, then take sneak as a major, youll be fine sneaking anywhere dark, even at lvl 1. just stay out of line of sightanother good thing to have is telekinesis. i like to put it on a common ring, with a tiny rat soul, and a short duration spell, so its easier to enchant. you wont use it that much, but itll charge up quick, and itll save you needing probes. also makes stealing things in shops way way easier and more fun
>>4020161Same. Except for the Stealth thing that's more or less the first character I ever made in Morrowind lol
>>4017942>Nightbladeffs, can't escape the stealth archer
