Nerds think a game is good just if it is hard to enjoy. In reality, a game is good when playing it releases tension and makes you forget the real world. Todd Howard knows how to make Fallout work but for some reason it's baseddevs like these and the Disco Elysium failed author drunkards and others that thrive.

What makes Fallout, Fallot? What makes an RGP game and RPG game?

Why do nerds NEED others to not be able to play their favorite game? It's mind boggling

Really reminds me of Amnesia Machine For Pigs... Nobody likes that game except melodramatic art students. The ending speech was so cringy I had to alt F4.

Opportunity costs when progressing (You chose build A over B, storyline X over Y), and immersion, as you say "makes you forget the real world"
Lefty devs start doing it with decent worldbuilding intentions (looking at you Josh) and then can't help but dump their asinine politics in to ruin shit, same as they do movies.

Hollywood and to a lesser extent game dev is also some kind of political buy in where they all have knives at each others back over who is the prettiest and smartest lefty pig to be lauded over others and hence pig and pig's friends are included in the project so the political bandwagon thing is intensified for cause du jour like all the tranny lecturing in Veilguard for example.
DE is just a validation of "lookame, I'm in the #1 nihilist club, everything sucks!" on top of the other factors.

> a game is good when playing it releases tension and makes you forget the real world.
The truest and brightest of lanterns in this blighted place. Reminders of real world politics take away from that quickly, especially when instead of the impactful and allegorical touch they're looking for, you feel like you've been handed a pamphlet and yelled at for some minutes that you paid for when buying the title.

Whether the game is also good enough to carry their proselytizing is a separate axis of quality from how much proselytizing is actually in the game. Sometimes it is: (Avowed, BG3) sometimes it is not (Deadfire, Veilguard)

Rightwingers are too dumb to appreciate good art so they lash out at every opportunity.

What the fuck are you talking about , you bubling retard?
ZA/UM and its successors are at a fialed state. obsidian is a skeleton of itself making discount Fallouts and Todd makes bank even wehn releasing garbage.

People acknowledge that past obsidian entries are better than Bethesda garbage because they are. But nobody stands for Outer Worlds or whatever

Another extremely high-quality thread on this high-quality board.

The Toddler makes games for his fellow toddlers, Sawyer and Cain aim slightly higher.

crpgs aren't difficult, you just need to specialize in a build/role. It's a culture shock coming from JRPGs that handle it automatically for you

Because Tim and Sawyer make games that have layers of depth to them. But these layers are just very thin and superficial. Once removed all that is left is the same sterile ideas that you've seen a thousand times.

Playing a Sawyer game is like visiting a doctor's office, once you remove the thin layer of personality its the same sterile environment made for pure fonctionality.

Growing up is realizing Todd makes the best RPGs and the rest are literal cock gobblers
