The reason Morrowind is still unsurpassed in its lane is because of worldbuilding.

Gameplay is meh (magic/travelling are the only fun parts), quests are bad in all regards except for the exposition to the world they provide, and the world is awesome. It's both fantastic and grounded, thanks to Kirkbride's quirky/schizo fantasy being grounded by Rolston and Kuhlman. That's why Tamriel Rebuilt will never be able to fill Morrowind's shoes and why Tribunal/Bloodmoon were so forgettable, worldbuilding not good enough.

Its lane? It's been mogged for two decades as a roleplaying video game. Good worldbuilding, but why don't you go read books if you like reading books so much.
>>
>>4024578
There are no games with better worldbuilding. I do read books but also sometimes I am too wired and Morrowind works like a vacation in the sense of taking my mind off things.

I agree with you.

I agree I didn’t expect it to grow on me as much as it did.

Great humor and dialogue moments too
I don't recall using teleportation, yet there I was...alone...naked.

not a single western rpg has yet surpassed Morrowind

Morrowind has a fantastic setting, that's true

Realizing that the only good thing about bethesda games is the music making you feel magical adventure is coming is part of growing past age 14 OP

Tamriel Rebuilt exceeds the main game. Worldbuilding is good. Quests are 10x more interesting and often offer multiple choices. Much more deeper than go kill X or go raise disposition with X until you complete the quest.

i find tamriel rebuilt extremely boring for some reason. can you recommend some good quests?

Tfw you've gradually watched the illiterate brown hordes grow until the bar for this has dropped from PS:T to Morrowind's snack-sized three page books that take 30 seconds to read
>>
>>4024542
Tamriel rebuilt is just Morrowind 2 lol. And much of the quests/content is widely regarded as "literal Morrowind but better" and it's not even done yet

Figurative. You mean figurative.
I have no interest in modder fan-fiction.

I'm doing the East Empire Company quests in Ebonheart and they're pretty good and balanced with doing good worldbuilding. When I first got to Ebonheart and started doing mage's guild quests I was worried it was going to be really dry.

ebonheart is the only city in TR i like, and they're redoing it in next update
>>
>>4029261
I haven't gone anywhere else yet and this feels like I'll still be here in a month
>>
>>4029080
your loss for being an edgy contrarian

>>4028959
it's really hard to nitpick but I'll say try thieves guild questline, start in Old Ebonheart

the power of autism caused by hrt pills

There’s nothing edgy about not caring for a particular mod.
