Just finished the Unity ending to Look Outside. Does anyone else feel like it was incredibly underwhelming and lame after the added effort of fighting Sybil throughout meat world? There wasn't even a single context clue about the big reveal so it comes entirely out of left field. The Promise and Denial endings are way better imo. I thought the transformation of Sybil was incredible because I remembered in real time that she had merged with the entire building and that boss battle was memorably difficult despite having a full and max level party, so the ending sucking was such a huge letdown.

A personal headcanon of mine is that you dont immediatly lose your sanity after becoming cursed, you only lose it if your own mind cant handle being turned into some form of horrific messy beast. That's why some characters can keep their sanity after mutating through having either social interactions, a strong mind or just being so depressed that they dont even give too much of a fuck about their mutations since they want to kill themselves as is (like fish tank girl, forgot her name sadly) and why ones who end up in tragic or shitty situations immediatly turn violent and psychotic (tooth apt crew)Again being turned into a bunch of fingers and hands is likely to cause a real number on your mental state. No clue how this applies to animals who got transformed or inanimate objects who did too though

Anyway, it's a two-way deal. I wondered why I liked the characters of this game so much despite being tired as fuck of "literally (you)"s and nerds, but I guess it's because it's played straight for once. No chosen twink with a harem and a secret super power or anime heroes that are supposed to be just like you because they mention their waifu five minutes. Maybe helps that everything feels retro too. Instead of the modern otaku you have the classic nerds who are addicted to pixel games, D&D or obscure hobbies (save for the game seller and Dan maybe). You know, the types that got laughed at in school before being nerdy was cool, and who probably became loners afterwards. And instead getting a harem and fame Sam gets former loner friends who are similar to him and bonds with them in the happier ending. I dunno, I guess I just prefer this over the more materialist "get money, sex and fame" endings. I mean technically Sam has at least two characters who are indeed crazy for him, but Lyle and Spine are so creepy that it feels more like a deconstruction of the trope. But even if you choose to like Lyle and his kiss when you think about it in the shower or like Spine's massages and consider these two adorable it's rather wholesome that two technically horrific looking creatures like them can be viewed as cute by someone.

I doubt there are even has enough bosses to get 18k, considering that each of them only gives you 100pts. What's everyone's sikrit strategy here? Tbh I don't buy that the Exalted Four could ever make a "new world of peace" at all. At least not without exterminating billions of monsters, curing or killing all the people enduring fates of horrific torture, like Maurice and the people in the flesh spiral outside, finding a way to make all of the millions of new sentient species with large enough populations to reproduce get along (we saw the roaches, worms, ticks, rats, fungi, hand soldiers, and pillbugs if they were willing to resort to incest pop up from a single apartment building; how many others are there), or otherwise outright exterminate the incompatible ones like Worms, finding a way to heal spacetime itself from the millions of wounds accrued from the various pocket dimensions and spatial warpings formed, finding a way to prevent both total ecological collapse while also stopping the newly born ecosystem of monsters from eating humanity, suppressed and controlled or destroyed all the new supernatural and empowered objects created by the cursed and Visitor effects, and finally finding a way to prevent the various plagues and parasites created from consuming everything. But this is mostly just me being autistic and putting five times as much thought into the endings as Frankie did. I agree with the Exalted four when they said;>Exalted Four: The world as we know it is over.>Exalted Four: Maybe in thousands or millions of years, something resembling humanity can flourish again.>Exalted Four: But unfortunately, no. We cannot save the world. This is the final moment in history. Humanity is over. The world Frankie created is too horrific and nightmarish to be saved. Eleven of the thirteen endings are bad ones already; having no hope at a good ending at all would make things much too bleak.

Something really strange about the game was how time works in there, at least for me. It seemed like everybody perceived it differently and I am not talking about meat world. Like when Sam wakes up on day 1 and you talk to other people and witness what has happened it seems like that shit was already going on for at least a week or longer. Like there are clearly lots of fights that already happened, precautions that were taken, characters that know about monsters roaming in whole different areas, Lyle already owning like 20 photos of stolen souls and talking as if he was already used to this new life and lots of characters that act similar. And the Hands in "Vietnam" who also act as if they spent days in there.Maybe Sam was just drunk as fuck though and slept for three days. Though unless it's a bug the calendar's date is already marked even before Sybil tells you about the 15 days. So a part of me always felt like this shit already happened sooner and Sam was just in denial or coma for a bunch of days.On the other side there is the bus crash which makes it sound as if the Visitor only appeared minutes before. Maybe there some time dilatation shenanigans going on for the people outside or some shit.

Did fans ever have any theories as to why Leigh can transform back? Is it some split personality thing? She doesn't seem to be split anymore, but a few hints sound like if she had different side that she was always hiding before the Visitor came. I mean Sybil also has her human form, but for her it's rather denial? I wonder if one aspect that would prevent a transformation back to a human form is the fusion with a foreign object. Audrey and Lyle for example would have to separate from the vending machine respective camera first before they could change, but they seem to be fused to them on some cellular basis.
