I have a soft spot for A Chamber of Stars, which is a sequel to Endless Empty from the OP pic. It has zero place on this board since it drops the default RPGMaker combat entirely thank god, and it's hard to recommend, but it follows the same beats of the first game by exploring the dying mind of a washed up rockstar through the worlds of various emotions, except it's focused on light puzzling & rhythm minigames instead. I got about eleven hours out of the game and it was enthralling the whole way through. And it is indeed weird shit and collage art glued together.

Why do western rpg maker devs only care about aesthetics and story, but never prioritise gameplay or mechanics? Whenever I play a popular rpg maker game they have a surreal art style but the most cookie cutter jrpg mechanics. Most of the time, I feel like they don't even like rpgs. I rather play a game with rtp graphics and interesting mechanics over any of these.

I was going for the collectibles and the game started acting weird and crashed on me, then when I reloaded my saves models wouldn't load in and prompts wouldn't work. Deleting the entire game and reinstalling it didn't fix it either. I think my menus wouldn't even appear. A shame too because it was pretty neat.
