Every thread about Tamriel Rebuilt looks more or less the same, that is
>OP in the image is a map
>some very high but incredibly unspecific praise
And then the thread either dies or continues to bump limit.
What I'm confused about is... has anyone actually played this shit?
It seems borderline astroturfed but i've seen this threads for like 10 years so it can't be that. Yet I never see anyone discuss anything specific, like a questline they're really fond of. Compare this to how people discuss Skyrim, most threads would zone in on a particular quest/scenario and ask what the right choice was or what the designers were thinking. This is generally how RPGs are discussed (fallout new vegas also comes to mind, rarely do you see a thread that's just "man this game is so fire!!", it's more often something like "was siding with ceasar the best choice after all?" or some shit) and honestly, how media is discussed in general (when discussing a TV show, people will usually discuss episodes or arcs separately).
I have yet to see anyone on /v/ or /vrpg/ ever discuss any content of this mod, just the mod's existance in a vacuum. What the fuck even is this?
People talk about how the map is big, uh, morrowind terrain is just a ground texture and deformation, maybe some copy-paste vegitation, surely they mean there's content to that map right? So how come said content (quests) is never mentioned or praised?
And I mean... are the quests that they added like the quests in vanilla? Because most of those were just "go to this cave and kill bandits" or "collect 10 mushrooms" types...
>>
>>4035242
You know you kinda fucked it up during the last part. Makes it obvious you never played the game.
>>
>>4035242
People have played TR content yes.
>>
>>4035242
>and then the thread either dies or continues to bump limit.
Many such cases.
>>
It's one of those mass hysteria scenarios where people delude themselves into thinking morrowind was good, and from there it must mean more morrowind ---> better
but nobody has nostaliga for the new content so nobody ever talks about it because that'd mean playing morrowind instead of circlejerking
case and point: >>4035262
name a morrowind quest that you really liked
>>
>>4035279
Morrowind had better and more in depth writing than every other TES and gameplay that sucks only slightly more than other TES games.
>>
>>4035281
I asked you to name a morrowind quest you really liked, not to virtue signal that you're oh so much better and smarter than those filthy skyrim boogeyman.

Mystery of the Dwarves
Pilgrimage of the Seven Graces

Nice going, retardo.
>>
>>4035284
you'll notice there's no decision to be made in either of those, just a linear set of "talk to x"
>>
>>4035291
So? You didn't ask "name a Morrowind quest that brilliantly illustrates the capacity for player choice."
>linear
Mystery of the Dwarves is as far from linear as you can get. You describing it as such makes you retarded, illiterate, or both.
>>
>>4035291
You'll also notice he didn't elaborate on his choices. He pulled his choices somewhat arbitrarily from the wiki/reddit and isn't able to provide an account of his experiance.
>>
>>4035313
>y-you must have got those from the wiki, there's no way anyone actually played the game
Nice job moving those goalposts all by yourself. Better luck next time, you illiterate faggot.

does that answer your question OP?

this wesbite is THE easiest website to shill on, most actual developers don't bother but if you're a team of loosly coordinated discord trannies, manpower isn't an issue since they do it for free.

I like the one where you collect taxes and that one farmer's like "I don't have 50 gold. you can take this guar I guess" and you ask him about "guar" and he's like "yeah here take my guar. corky! this dude's your master now." and corky the guar becomes your follower

Anon, there's like three or four different naked nords

I like Morrowind. I played it back in the day when it came out. I'm still fond of it, and still enjoy playing it occasionally, partly because I like the game, and partly due to nostalgia.
If I feel like playing Morrowind again (every five years or so), I'll just play Morrowind. I've never had any desire for modder fan fiction that's sort of like Morrowind.
>>
>>4035860
i was specifically thinking of the one where you come across the he said/she said situation but they're all good times
>>
>>4035279
The new content of note is basically just more guild/temple/whatever questlines. They're fine, but nothing earth shattering. It's really just more morrowind for if you want it.
The only real problem I have with Tamriel Rebuilt is you also have to restrict your playstyle a lot to not just breeze through everything since the game just wasn't designed with a progression that could possibly last long enough to explore all that stuff. And if you're just a god wandering through all this stuff it makes the world feel more empty even if they make some effort to have it not be
>>
>>4035242
>What I'm confused about is... has anyone actually played this shit?
Yes.
>So how come said content (quests) is never mentioned or praised?
They're ok.
>And I mean... are the quests that they added like the quests in vanilla?
On par with Bloodmoon, at best.
>Because most of those were just "go to this cave and kill bandits" or "collect 10 mushrooms" types...
Quests in Morrowind have you learn about the land, culture, and politics, TR quests have reddit humor and a fear of commitment.
>>
So what happened to them planning to release things more quickly? I know Poison Song is meant to release soon, but that's still over a year between releases and a bunch of it is just reworks to existing areas.
>>
Oblivion is a trash game and you're a faggot for enjoying it.

That sounds more like WoW quests
>>
>>4043897
Nah. We know where all these 'extremely organic' seethe threads against Morrowind and its mods are coming from. I see exactly what OP is trying to do.
>>
>outright admit that you have no real plan and that the lore and ideas change constantly when asked about dres
>rework existing areas that only came out a few years ago
>team is now full of trannies and ESO tards
>new lore and writing is noticeably impacted by this
This shit will never finish and even if was it wouldn't be worth the time to even bother with it.
>>
>>4045196
I sort of worry there's a bunch of retarded ESO lore I know nothing about that's going to blindside me when/if they put out a new game, but hopefully they just don't give a shit about it

>>
>>4035242
>Tamriel Rebuilt
So, I'm kind of curious about it too. I only played through Morrowind once, over a decade ago and seeing all these new lands of explore makes me wonder if it'd be worth it to pick it up again. Not to actually play through the game again but to just dick around and drift without any clear destination, enjoying the new lands for, let's see, maybe about fifty to a hundred hours before I inevitably get bored and shelve it, as it appears to happen with open world games. And I'd be playing with the 100% hit rate mod or whatever it was called, I've had enough seeing my weapon faze through the target with a patience shattering miss indicator again and again. It pisses me the fuck off in any game that uses any kind of RNG hit mechanic, squarely so if the combat is action based.

>>4047932

3rd party ones that are not integrated into the main project nor being worked on by the TR Team so they're basically fanfic mods for a fanfic mod. Its a mess.

They are meant to coordinate their lore. Not sure how that works with them constantly changing their opinions.

He effectively identified you didn't play these games and are shitposting based on content clearly taken from a wiki.

In short, you're a fag and also a retard.

They cannot do that since "Morrowind" is a registered trademark which they do not own. It would be closer to "false advertisement" than whatever you're complaining about.

Kemel-Ze fucking sucked.
"Mega-dungeon" my ass. This shit was tiny and had no puzzles.
At least the reward at the end was good, but god damn what a let down.
>>
>>4079158
1. Lore bias. Most places that are somehow special lore-wise such as being mentioned in books aren't that much more special than their more generic equivalents.
2. Your own expectations. If you were playing this 20 years ago it would have made you go "whoa, cool", which is what it's aiming for.
>>
>>4079202
>Your own expectations
My expectations that were set by the TR team shilling Kemel-ze as a huge mega-dungeon, yes.
>>
>>4079204
Yes, it is your own fault for paying attention to the hype and even letting it ruin your own enjoyment, yes.
>>
>>4079250
Nta but you're retarded. How is it the players fault that those tranny chaser lied?
>>
>>4035242
lol so which of the competing "entirety of tamriel" mod projects are you working on? skyblivion? skywind? imagine hearing about a good mod from other anons, for over a fucking decade, and instead of just trying it for yourself, you make a gay thread concerntrolling over "muh shills", and then whining about how other people are playing it. couldnt be me.
the reason people talk about TR is because, unlike all those aforementioned never ever projects, the TRannys actually release shit, and its actually good. its really that fucking simple.

the reason people arent always discussing the ins and outs of every questline is because, for one, spoilers, and two, its far too fucking huge for you to even DO all the quests in a questline on a single character. nvm all of the quests in every faction.
thats great for fans of morrowind, because instead of grinding out the same dozen telvanni quests weve all played for 20yrs, you can now fuck off to the mainland and have several full playthroughs full of telvanni quests that youve never even played. and its like that for basically every vanilla faction sans redoran, since most of their mainland territory hasnt been made yet now. and thats not even mentioning all the new factions and all THEIR quests
>>
>>4079006
that hackle-lo is chewed for a mild intoxicating/stimulating effect, and is worth quite a bit of money (relative to its weight) due to this

>>
>>4083143
>coping this hard
What causes this?
>>
What is the purpose of this thread, OP?

You first post shows you never even played Morrowind and when someone shares why they like Morrowind you get buttmad and start baiting.

Are you having some sour grapes because you just couldnt get into and now you feel left out so you feel the urge to prove that its shit?
>>
>>4035313
Pilgrimage of the Seven Graces is one of my best memories of Morrowind.
>>
>>4035283
Just from TR I can say the bloodstone pilgrimage, Akamora FG and everything in the Armun Ashlands is kino
A lot of basegame quests are mechanically quite boring but have some style and mystique in an old school way. 7 pilgrimages, lot of the main quest, some daedra quests and plenty of Great House quests are pretty fun for you know, role-playing? The thing youre supposed to do in an RPG?
>>
This thread is basically just proving who is a hype-following goycattle on vrpg. If you don't have the patience to just enjoy a slow-releasing great mod because it isn't being currently hyped up, go play whatever new release or new RPG maker game fulfills your ADHD anon.
>>
>>4085446
>a slow-releasing great mod
That’s a weird way to refer to a mod that’s been in development for 20+ years, has radically shifted in scope since then, almost certainly consists of an entirely different and new developer crew à la the ship of Theseus, whose developers are now redoing years-old stuff instead of adding new stuff, and will never be finished
Btw I probably played Morrowind before you were born
>>
>>4083637

>>
>*sucks teeth* yeah nah can't lie tho, Zheeb de la Zheeb is kinda weak tho no lie, maybe Crouching Guar got me too excited
There's seemingly this whole hilarious level of mysticism about the significance of a "release" with a heckin official name that seems to take the fun out of what is ultimately a free mod to a 2002 game.

eh, it's all free and volunteer, play it or don't. It's practically the product of an anarchist syndicate.

>>
>>4092836
I think it just goes from intentionally vague mostly human with some elf traits in the original (non-online) material, to ESO which has a bunch of shit with that family and they're all imperials (I guess. I don't play it).
At some point I feel like the stigma of drawing material from ESO has faded for better or worse, probably at least in part because it's all people have had to work with for 15 years but idk
>>
>>4092911
>At some point I feel like the stigma of drawing material from ESO has faded for better or worse
The lore is frozen at Morrowind, or, at most, at Oblivion. ESO is gay and Skyrim made it dumb.
