This is based on the talk of Ch 6 being shorter and likely goofier aspects (a holiday mansion or ice-e dark world would have had that)

the one i'm kinda iffy on is castle town's fountain, or chapter 1's fountain. i really don't think the story gives a shit about who created that but i could be wrong.

Here's an idea: UT Kris (with _a_ cyan SOUL, not the same cyan SOUL that Asgore collected) ended up in Gaster's lab. Got tortured for science there. Got his SOUL taken out from him. Gaster injected DT in the SOUL to see how it would react. SOUL turns red.
Not long after, Gaster throws himself in the CORE, where a dark fountain appeared. He intends to create a Kris vessel with the red SOUL he kept in the machine from pic related, it's now part of the DR simulation.
What does Gaster expect from the experiment? Hell if I know. The power to change fate within a deterministic universe maybe?
