So I'm doing the challenge to beat all 3 games on Insanity in the LE, and I just beat ME1 tonight, 100%ed the content, moved on to 2 and did a little bit before stopping. Ok either ME2 becomes some serious bullshit later but insanity feels no different from Normal so far, this feels so much easier because how ME2 works is that you always get your shields deleted really fucking fast. Maybe it's FASTER in Insanity, I don't know, but I immediately beelined to the Kasumi loyalty mission since you can do it at the start for the stupidly OP Locust SMG, and the gunship fight felt no less bullshit than always.Meanwhile in ME1 I would pingpong from being completely invincible and dying in 1 hit because a Geth Destroyer ran up and smacked me in melee when Push/Lift/Stasis were in cooldown, I had far more instances in ME1 where I would just randomly die because of being so much as grazed by something that ignores barrier
ME1 has one problematic spot and that is Liara's mission, tight space with Krogan at the very endeverything else gives you generous space even the rachniME2 has multiple DPS check levels>oh you didn't kill Mechs fast enough in some warehouse, sprint across the room to the pillar that is not made out of styrofoam loser>Mechs break styrofoam crates in nanoseconds if you don't nuke themcollectors have a few "fun" spots where you are forced to migrate or conserve ammo
>>4046242>ME1 has one problematic spot and that is Liara's mission, tight space with Krogan at the very endBecause they reworked a bunch of little things so that ME1 isn't so janky, that Krogan battlemaster is nowhere near as dangerous in LE. That one fucking open room in Ilos is a bitch though.
>>4046270Actually I redact that, Ilos was merely irritating.Feros however was human suffering concentrated into a videogame level. Every fucking creeper will oneshot anyone that's not Wrex and ignores shields, and they have 50 million hitpoints. Yeah they only attack in melee, but they take so much to go down as they run to you, and I was using the Spectre pistol too.
>>4046225Protip for higher difficutly Mass Effect 2: always bring Miranda. It doesn't matter what the mission is, bring her along. Unless your Shepard is a Sentinel, no other character has both Overload and Warp meaning she is your dedicated defenses stripper.
>>4046225There's less bullshit deaths in ME2 than ME1 (no instakill bitchslaps or forgetting to turn on barrier when there's a sniper around). The Collector Ship will put hairs on your chest though.
>>4046283> dedicated defenses stripperYeah, she looks like a stripper but what about her abilities? Hyuk hyuk hyuk
The Collectors are a pain in the ass on insanity. I don't even have specific advice to give you, they're just horse shit. After all these years I have no idea how Scions work but I despise them. But I did beat it without looking up guides for loadouts and abilities so you should be able to handle it
>>4046419>Yeah, she looks like a stripper but what about her abilities?>>4046419>either ME2 becomes some serious bullshit laterIt does. Most of my deaths in the trilogy were in ME2, and most of those deaths in ME2 were because of specific sections in Collector missions (IYKYK).
>>4046225I'm doing similar run, am currently on Feros and then i go to Virmire. in 1 gunfire is the least of your issues, in 2 it's the opposite.>>4046431I always try to take reave bonus power because it obliterates, barrier, armor, and has some cc
>>4046437>I always try to take reave bonus powerDon't get me wrong, Reave is a good power, but there are other worthwhile powers to try out in subsequent playthroughs. Plus, if you care about roleplaying, you wouldn't give non-biotic classes a biotic power, now would you?
Oh I should've said, I'm playing Sentinel in all 3 games. Sentinel was by far my favorite class in 3 and Tech Armor is imo the best ability in ME3 bar-none, and it's not AS good in 2 but it's really fucking good. Boy did I miss not having it in 1 though.>>4046437Yeah I did Feros last as well because I refused to fail that one speech check, you know the one. Also iirc Warp Ammo is the best thing to take because there isn't much else that strips barriers efficiently.>>4046419The thing is, the combination of her hair and dress makes her look like she stepped out of a random Star Trek TOS episode. That's not her character, but it's absolutely her look.
ME2 on Insanity to me was by far the most annoying because every enemy had like 2 different shields and my cooldowns were so long that it dragged every encounter out.
>>4046429This is a consistent problem, even in ME3 multiplayer players fucking dread having to fight Collectors for that match.
>>4046996No one ever selects Random Opponent unless they hate themselves, they set it to Geth every time because Geth have no bullshit enemies
>>4046225>challenge
>>4047062But the particle rifle isn't until 3
