I've been reading/playing yumina the ethereal recently for example and its pretty decent, it doesn't take itself super seriously until the second half when it becomes a space opera but its still pretty hammy its not super deep but its got solid characters for what its going for and it has fun with its premise of shaping yumina up from a retard to a retard that is also student council president with the hints of intrigue in the first half of what kirara's goal is and how ai is totally not a fed. The payoff in the second half is okay, not stellar but it could have been a lot worse, i'd say the first half is more interesting than the second when it becomes a space story with boogeymen feds using yumina because the first half was actually a selection process for espers and the mock combat that debates where was actually esper combat with limiters put on them.

If you can stomach the ai backgrounds and copious amount of yuri theres a lot you can dig your teeth into with the greater worldbuilding, political players and duvessa herself being a compelling lead that chiefly follows her whims, lust for power and the all encompassing desire to be not bored. Theres a decent amount of deviation from the intial backgrounds which can influence the social dynamics in the game, such as a duvessa who dabbled in crime in her youth having connections in the criminal underworld or the framing of her teenage rival as a witch driving said rival out of town until the events of the vn where she begins to make her redebut in the social class. You can also have duvessa be a complete slut and laid with her fathers political rival, flirt with said father and seduce the headbishop within the church and have him fuck her while her goons are cavassing his dorm. Its good fun i would reccomend.

The relatable-otherwordly split should've been kind-detached or something as it's at it best when it's between emphasizing with mortals or dismissing them as beneath you, but on occassion you act like a complete psychopath and it's a coin toss which way it will get pushed. Do you even get that much extra content as a scientist in ZESH? I'm only at book 2 right now but still, I don't see where the wordcount went. Early game works basically the same as optimized cycling strat logic, you want to max out your gains when getting AP is cheap in ch3 and then coast on static power boosts that don't care about your current AP or that you even have mortal limits to begin with. Though it's mostly busywork, the game never acknowledges any difference between mortal limits or a normal playthrough and breaking mortal limits doesn't set any permament variables so your character will never brag about having done so.
