So exquisite it's transcendental. Playing PS:T for the first time is akin to looking up in the Sistine Chapel. You are filled with the certainty that, yes, if a million artists bang on typewriters for five thousand years, they could create something Divinely Inspired. It's all there, in an impeccable simulacrum: love and loss, the original sin of regret, man's will as the answer to self-overcoming. Perfection is realised.
>>4058343I had so much fun my first playthrough of this I don't wanna do another. Like it would spoil the impression.Losing black isle was a tragedy. Obisidan do not fill their shoes at all and most of the staff that left to work their don't even work their anymore. They left after fallout new Vegas
>>4058343>Perfection is realised. But the combat sucks
>>4058536I'll never understand why people praise baldurs gate and ice wind Dale but then say the combat in planescape. It's the same combat engine. The fights don't have much thought to the placement of anything and combat isn't the point but it was never unpleasant. If anything it was welcomed after an hours of reading
>>4058597>combat in planescape sucks
The combat is good and the story sucks, actually.
>>4058736You are gay. You are a homosexual with AIDS. The virus has corrupted your T-cells, allowing worms to grow and slither around your brain. Your prefrontal cortex was an all-you-can-eat buffet for them. Only that could lead you to have such a retarded opinion.
>>4059003you are an autist who doesn't recognise the most obvious ragebaits
>>4058343Is the Switch port good?Actually why did it get ported there?
>>4058597>whyencounter designI'll admit that bg and iwd have a bunch of slop encounters too, but PS:T went so hard with the story and dialogue they completely forgot to plan anything for the combat. They have also told that they rushed through a bunch of areas with whatever enemy placements since the deadlines were pressing on.I'm halfway ok with people basically going StoryMode on it, but not fully since the friction from combat is what makes it really a game and not a CYOA. Yes it matters, and not only for the definition. It's another flawed masterpiece, but still deservedly a masterpiece.
It's a great game, you just need to be a sweaty bonehead grognard to really get into it, thankfully that is who I am at heart. I demand my RPGs have incredibly interesting schizo locations, logic, and characters. Generic sword and sorcery doesn't do it for me anymore.
>>4060910>It's another flawed masterpiece, but still deservedly a masterpiece.Updated my journal.
One of the three true rpgs.
The story was great but I never had a desire to play it again, unlike the Baldur's Gate series for example
Sensates memory reading devices were my favourite part i only wish that devs would have had an opportunity to expand on all of those stories they contained.
>>4062173the other two being?
>>4063443Skyrim and Zelda
>>4063382>Sensates memory reading devices were my favourite part i only wish that devs would have had an opportunity to expand on all of those stories they contained.Fun fact: Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale are actually just stories taking place within TNO's imagination in the sensorium
>>4063443arcanum and fallout.
>>4058597PS:T has really weak encounter design. It's the same issue that drags down the combat in Owlcat's games. That said, the basic mechanics aren't bad, and I think it gets more hate than it deserves. The combat is a lot better than in, say, Arcanum.>>4063382I get where you're coming from, though for me Dakkon's interactions were the high point of the game.
