Despite square Enix going out of their way to try to take the fun out of the game, this is still one hell of an srpg probably one of the best I've ever played. The level cap though is oppressive. So many battles net you nothing but an exp charmFor some reason when Japanese make rpgs with western fantasy anesthetics the stories are usually really good. And at least on the law path this game has a great story. It's easy to think of other examples like dragons dogma or dark souls or vagrant story that all have pretty strong stories too. Yet when they make Japanese style jrpgs the stories often suck. I wonder why.
>>4058434It's easy, Japanese style is for japs and has to use Japanese tropes like cool Japan whereas western styled games are for the international market.Tor might be buggy and wonky at times, still the best grid tactics game with a decent console version. Unfortunately square is remaking brave exius now and invites all characters from all games which s lame af.
I don't understand why Matsuno just can't get off his ass and make the remaining sequels and prequels. All we've got are spin-offs and non-canon stuff.
>>4059255>I don't understand why Matsuno just can't get off his ass and make the remaining sequels and prequelsBecause he'll be outed as a fraud. He's smart, just lets people continue to assume he's a genius. Don't want to Kojima yourself.
>>4058434>one of the best I've ever playedyou haven't played very many srpgs then. and if you have, you have very poor taste and should refrain from making recommendations to others
>>4061206Wow you sure told me!
>>4059255is he still working at square? i thought he exited the company a longtime ago. i don't even know if he's still working in vidya
>>4062007No he doesn't. But he can work as a contractor.
