I played DAO for the first time this year and was massively disappointed. It was just Baldurs Gate again, but a lot worse. Same developers too. Supposedly game 1 is the best in the series so I just took all four off my backlog
My main problem was that it had extra hard combat, and broken party ai. Those do not go well together

Inquisiton sounds bad ass on paper. In practice I quit midway through. I don't know it just didn't grab me like Origins did, which is of course the best in the series. OP make sure to get every bit of DLC with origins or play the complete edition or whatever that has it all. Get all you can out of it. 2 is much more humble of a tale, it's not save the world shit it's a tale in one localized region. It's not that bad, it's fun. Never played or watched any content on Veilguard but I heard it's shit.
