Plus a whole new character, Sonon, to flesh out Yuffie's backstory. Rebirth kind of rewrote some lore. And added in some Crisis Core characters. And everyone was still uncertain how much they were changing and how much they were keeping the same. In the back of my mind, I get the feeling that they're not going to give Cid the same treatment.

We know what Hojo wants.We know what Weiss wants. I think Sephiroth's motivations are still unknown. He only ever says enigmatic shit. And Rebirth left us with more questions than answers after he tapped into some kind of multiverse connective consciousness.

>>4075680If you just look at the OG, it looks like Sephiroth had delusions of grandeur. Because everything he read about Jenova was just the hypothesis of Dr. Gast. It wasn't until Advent Children that he elaborated, that he saw himself as an angel of death, destined to sail across the cosmos on the planet as his vessel. And then Dirge of Cerberus and Crisis Core, expanded on what "Jenova Cells" even did, and that there was a greater lifestream beyond the planet. And only in Ever Crisis, have they shown that, maybe, he did have some kind of shared connected consciousness with Jenova after all.
