So far the following balance tweaks and polishes will be in the next patch:
>Morton has his ultimate item, the Puzzle Box
>Papineau gets several defensive/healing and offensive skills that use cleaning items in your inventory
>Calm Dan buffed, and the start of a stream gets more viewers based on how well the previous one did, however Beg For Money will reduce the maximum amount of viewers you can get
>Dan's quest will permanently increase viewership
>Sophie has increased ballistics and critical hit chance when hiding, and the damage of special marbles scales with level
>Ambush will do more damage depending on how many status effects the target has
>Coral Slingshot added to the flooded apartment: +45 ballistics and additional luck
>All marble locations in the overworld will give special marbles in addition to normal ones, including the new slingshot in the flooded apartment
>Hellen's Soul Feast will only target enemies, and both it and Soul Drain will be stronger
>Massacre no longer removes the stalk status from enemies
>Fallow Will will make weapon skills cost more STM
>Unmask has been buffed to only hurt, confuse (40%), and stalk (80%) enemies, but costs 4 STM
>Hellen is immune to the Soulless status
>Grim Harvest does more damage, correctly applying the HP-reliant damage with the max health instead of the halved max health when the skill is used
>Soulless is removed at end of battle; before, if a party member's soul was taken, they would mistakenly have 20% reduced stats forever
>Grafting now revives an ally instead of healing them; health healed depends on Hellen's max health
>Soulless and Soul Drain have new icons; Massacre uses the Kitchen Knife for the skill icon
>Some of the beef in Lyle's bedroom is unable to be picked up unless you're starving, as a way of checking whether you're still on track for the Ascetic challenge (similar to the plant now only having the talk option if you're lonely). Ascetic Sam will give Fridge Horror the panic status
1/2
>>
>>4069069
>Roaches learns Roach Blizzard at level 15
>Voidblade skills have a melee tag and breakrate
>Spine has a "Graft" skill that gives equipment and an associated skill when used on an enemy, can only be replaced by using Graft again
>Spider is able to equip the rarer weapons (some examples are Voidblade, Ocular Tetherblade, or Spine Dagger)
>Keep the Change and Machine Tackle got buffed, and Overdrive Chip has two new modes: Economy (reduced STM cost but slightly reduced stats) and Self-Repair (10% life regen but 5% STM loss)
>Monty has level scaling with his skills (Pyromania for example will now do 100 + [level]*10 damage to all enemies) and is able to use Masterpieces for double damage. Xaria is also buffed
>Rat Child can now learn Devour from Joel
>You are able to duplicate the Indigo Mask and have separate uses for each instead of them having the same pool of daily uses
>Long Haul Flow reduces the stamina cost of all skills rather than gradually increases STM (because of this, Meteor Strike will potentially be something more viable than a kick)
>Dungeon Dance will only give Sam counterattacks, not make him unable to act
>Running Tackle will deal 600+ damage with the right equipment as well as Ernest/Dan/Aster's DEF buffs
>You are able to unequip the Filthy Ring
>Rat Child will be able to equip slingshots
>Crushing resistance removed from many enemies
>Piercing resistance removed from hand enemies

What if the apartments and the building itself weren't as rundown before as they look and just changed because the Visitor was fucking up their space and time, like with everything else?

Depends on what you mean. It's true for bottomless pits in apartments like the tooth family's, and the initial idea behind them was a form of fast transportation around the building (reused for the deep basement area with Charan). I don't know about the apartment bathrooms that lack sinks, showers, or toilets, maybe Henderson is just a slumlord.

The Visitor isn't even one complete being, it needs time for it to become aware of what its other parts are doing, it's likely it has a decentralized nervous system like an octopus.
If anything it should be easier for the Visitor to divide than for it to consume Earth especially considering the dividing that the Visitor keeps doing to Cursed

Does the Exalted Four grow in the endings? They seem kinda small in their overworld sprite, but in the Promise ending they’re enormous.
I guess it makes sense, given the E4 need to somehow go from a creature that can be beaten by a well-equipped part of four to a monster that can single handedly butcher 124 super-intelligent kaiju as well as hundreds of millions of others

There was some new "content" in the devstream. Frank was addressing a bug where you'd get a game over if your only other party member leaves/is kicked out while Sam is unconscious (mitigated by slightly healing Sam). Of course this would also be an issue for Spine in Meat World since you have to be alone there, so he decided to have fun with it.

He also said he would add Confusion content but didn't specify.

I wonder if people's lifespans changed after mutating. Disregarding those that were unfit to live from the get go due to fucked transformations. Ideally whatever Francis adds for Confusion wouldn't require Spine to be spared, but I'm not optimistic that he can add something to Apartment 31 without it revolving around her in some shape or form. He's not much better than the fanbase who will look at Stretchface's line about time passing 23 times slower and relate it entirely to the designated waifubait rather than the character actually saying it (and insist that said character is just a random one-off enemy that doesn't need new interactions).
>>
>>4070568
When I first heard Sam was middle aged I thought he would be 50 years old or so. It would make his life so much more sad and pathetic.
>>
>>4071016
He's not middle-aged, that assumption stems entirely from this Hellen mealtime interaction
>I don't know what the Visitor looks like, so I'm imagining it as a man of average height and build. Middle-aged. Sunken eyes. Despairing eyes.

Realistically though neither his nor Lyle's lives were likely to change between 30+ and 50 if the Visitor didn't come. Nobody will employ you anyway if you were a NEET for most of your life and once you pass the late 20s or so you will be too used of being a loner and slack off to get the energy back to go outside and do anything.
Hell, I was never social but up till my early 20s I still had somewhat of an urge to find at least one good friend or to communicate with others about my interest. Now meeting with somebody once every two months is such a chore that I come up with excuses to stay at home instead. The only semi-social thing I have the energy for is to post on this basket-waving forum here.
Though that aside, based on his in-game pictures I assumed that Sam was in his mid 40s. Dude must have had a hard life.

I wonder what Spine’s relationship with Confusion and Stretchface looks like. I get the impression that those two are stuck in their respective rooms while Spine can roam for whatever reason, and given both of them hate Sam* I feel like her crazy love for him must drive them a bit mad.
*Though I do get the impression that Stretchface less hates Sam and is more just frustrated with him and the general situation. Confusion seems more hostile, actively trying to kill him while Stretchface thinks he can genuinely help Sam by pulling his face open
>>
>>4071369
It's not that they aren't free to roam the apartment, they simply feel the same way about someone in their room for days at a time as any other NEET would.
>>
Lyle’s so much more repulsive than Spine. Even ignoring the whole
>male
thing Lyle has going on, Spine has no choice whatsoever but to be in her situation. She didn’t choose to be turned into a flesh monster but was, didn’t choose to be stuck in Sam’s apartment but was, didn’t choose to have subjective years go by, slowly driving her mad, but does.
Lyle on the other hand was a weird stalker freak entirely thanks to his choosing, and was creeping into Sam’s house and probably taking photos of him without his knowledge since even before the Visitor turned him. And he shows no issue with subjecting the player to endless torment by trapping their soul (and many others) within a photograph for his own amusement, while Spine genuinely believes turning you into a meat thing is kind and will help you
>>
>>4071373
I don’t think Stretchface would be freaking out and telling himself “he can do this” with reference to enduring Sam beating off or showering if he could just leave the bathroom. And I don’t think it’s coincidental that Confusion loses his marbles over Sam specifically sleeping all day, specifically calling him “the sleeper” if he could just leave the room too.
>Why do you sleep in my room? Why? I live here. You sleep a very long time. For weeks at a time. When there is SO much WORK to DO.

Spine on the other hand was a weird stalker freak entirely thanks to her choosing, and was creeping into Sam’s bed and molesting him without his knowledge for months rather than doing anything else. If that is the case, I'd like to know what other oddly specific revelations Stretchy had besides "time passes 23 times slower".
>>
>>4071386
Okay, I'll answer this rather than post meme arrows.

The reality is that the "creepy stalker" is a more down-to-earth portrait of both loneliness and complete ineptitude. He's a fuckup by normalfag standards, but not someone who would be talked about as a mass shooter. The latter (or more accurately an eccentric equivalent) is rather something cooked up the inner world he escapes into. This is why his quest is so great besides all the different character interactions, because it's made more apparent than ever to him that the aforementioned fantasies ruined his life, and he has to learn how to set aside his maladaptive coping mechanisms regarding photography when it's forever embedded into his biological makeup by now; if not, he disappears from the world outside his apartment entirely. Dan's quest is similarly about hobbies and "just b urself lol" being detrimental at times.

Francis set out to make a character whose raison d'etre is to (by his own admission) make you extremely uncomfortable, and succeeded. Spine barely demonstrates theory of mind, let alone budges from the demonic fatalism she's cultivated. There's never actually a moment where she understands you don't want to be raped and borged (perhaps, in her defense, it wouldn't matter in the end since at that point you've discarded prior memories and accepted your fate as a blob of flesh), she just thinks you're "not ready yet". From a practical standpoint, there's no reason to give this thing the benefit of the doubt as you might with a troubled acquaintance from your previous job, and if you do spare it, it becomes even more taxing on your mental health.

A variation of "Attack the Visitor" where Sam inflicts Panic (and Pain) on the Visitor, causing him to turn into an enormous cluster of arms hellbent on injuring the Visitor with building sized kitchen knives and pool cues
>>
Was it ever hinted how Edwin remade the meat world guys into what they are? I know that he did it, but he would need a special power to turn them into what they are, otherwise they would have just been crippled or killed by him. I guess he has the power of reassembling in some way, which might either be caused by how he witnessed the visitor or by a personality trait of his, similar to how Lyle can trap people in photos because he likes photography.

Further, if the victims were his neighbours that went to the apartment to check on him the original apartments of them could only be apartment 30, 34 or maybe 35 before Sybil moved in. Meaning that one of these apartments might have been that of Spine, Stretchface and such, unless I misinterpret things.

In his notes he mentions crushing them, and he probably has access to space-themed mutilation techniques like spaghettification and rapid decompression. As for the flesh piles in meat Apartment 33, they might have been C/SF/S's doing, seeing as Edwin doesn't really bother with that area himself. Alternatively, those three were cobbled together from said flesh piles, or were the only souls that could endure the torture Edwin put them through.

This is why I would never go near any spiders. Up to this day I don't know if they're jumpy (supposedly one of the reasons for why they've chosen Lyle to be spider-based) and flee or if they are more likely to jump right into your face if you go near them and I am not willing to find out. I also legit believe that spiders and flies have supernatural powers because they will manifest out of nowhere no matter how closely shut your apartment is and how often you clean everything.

House spiders cannot survive outside of indoor environments + they mitigate your pest problem. Let them live rent free.
