Was it ever hinted how Edwin remade the meat world guys into what they are? I know that he did it, but he would need a special power to turn them into what they are, otherwise they would have just been crippled or killed by him. I guess he has the power of reassembling in some way, which might either be caused by how he witnessed the visitor or by a personality trait of his, similar to how Lyle can trap people in photos because he likes photography. Further, if the victims were his neighbours that went to the apartment to check on him the original apartments of them could only be apartment 30, 34 or maybe 35 before Sybil moved in. Meaning that one of these apartments might have been that of Spine, Stretchface and such, unless I misinterpret things.

Half of the time he serves the role as a heavy lifter for players who couldn't get more than one party member prior to reaching the ground floor; otherwise he gets relatively outshined by certain characters due to his lack of special attacks and the fact that Share Lunch can only be used once per day. Compare to Aster who is another progression-based recruit (as opposed to a random door encounter) and has 7 skills that can be used indefinitely. Even now Pap has less content than someone like Dan or Leigh despite being the literal head custodian for the building.

After doing the Promise ending, I gotta say, it feels a bit too uplifting and idelistic. Naively so. It doesn't feel right for the cosmic horror story, where you're retaining your humanity in horrible circumstances, even if you have to sacrifice a lot to see it through. And c'mon, the Exalted Four DON'T go through a BIGGER change after talking to the Visitor? Sam can go from human to a tree of life-esque giant tree that spans the entire world, and don't even get me started on XIN-AMON. Sam doesn't even mutate at all despite being outside and looking up at the visitor during the ritual.Perfect Ritual: Denial has the right amount of "sacrifice" to make up for all the good that comes from it, I think. The Exalted Four are dead, Sam is a giant tree/mini-visitor abomination, and who even knows what happened to your companions.
