>>4072415Didn't encounter any bugs in my attempt at playing through it, but it's have a issue of getting kind of sluggish. Like, you go through the city and then a settlement where you get your first companion, and after this the rest of the game is basically you just walking through various area without much talkative-npc, and fighting enemies.(which is not even really hard, if you grind on the constantly respawning group of soldiers before leaving the city)

>>4072497I don't remember specifics at this point. I played it when it released I think and made it a substantial way through, only to find out that I could not progress and it seemed to be a somewhat notable occurrence. >after this the rest of the game is basically you just walking through various area without much talkative-npc, and fighting enemiesYeah. I got 9 hours in it. I know what the basic gameplay loop is like lol I did go back at some point to try and replay but did not get far (don't know why). How was the story?
>>4072777>How was the story? My fault for not being more specific, i never finished it as well. Like i said, there is not that much dialogues/plot advancement after you leave the settlement and to roam the map. Maybe it gets better by the end of the game, idk.

Is anyone there tried playing one of the German 'maker games? I wanted to play in Vampires Dawn but kinda got scared away by "saving being a very limited resource you need to grind for" retarded mechanic.
>>4078046I like Vampires Dawn, they're filled with jank and soul but they are very much games where you can effectively softlock yourself yes. The most effective way to play is also very unintuitive.
>>4078092>The most effective way to play is also very unintuitiveI wouldn't say grinding goblins and wolves on a world map before doing story missions is that much unintuitive, but it's sure is annoying. Like genuinely, already on one of the first story mission you get betrayed by an evil asshole who turn you into vampire and his gf, and forced to fight your way out of place alone through hard enemies who you totally can't beat if you didn't prepare yourself for it previously.
>>4077977It's really a shame the game is practically forgotten now, and the dev doesn't give a shit about remaking it. I'm playing it rn and having a blast>>4078011It's just a regular jrpg lol
>>4078046I tried playing Reign of Blood but the story was pretty boring. On the other hand, I played Deceit of Heretics on java back in the days and that was the coolest shit ever. I still don't understand why there's such a huge gap in the writing quality between two games given that they were made by the same autistic dev.

I'm really hate when devs put too much effort into making environment interactable as possible in their projects. My autism doesn't let me to ignore it and stop clicking at every object, while my progressing ADHD prevent me from actually enjoy it.
I've been playing some old RPG Maker games I was nostalgic for lately, largely due to this guy remastering the Legion Saga trilogy (third one is still in progress, near completion I think?) https://pmcdc.itch.io/Legion Saga is a trilogy of games made in RPG Maker in like 2002 to 2004, very obviously inspired by Suikoden. The first one is very "babby's first RPG Maker game" but the second one is a huge step up. Obviously written by a teenager but very endearing in that way. These remasters toss in the EasyRPG executable, fix bugs, update a bunch of menus and such, and include a bonus dungeon in each game. Saves transfer from game to game for extra stuff. Worth checking out if you have any nostalgia or curiosity for that period of time in RPG Maker history.
>>4081075Sadly nobody will fan translate the ALTERED version which has far more mechanics and an easier to navigate battle interface.
>>4069919This list should be updated. There's a couple of games that have been translated for a while.1. El sueno de la razon has very little text, but what there is is already in english.2. Utahonotatari3. Tobira no Densetsu4. Kagami no akumaThese last two were translated by the same team that does towelket. Speaking of which, has anyone played yorumorukimiri? I remember reading it is like 40 hours long, and it also has been translated like a couple of days ago.
what's the verdict?
>>4092122>towelket but 40 hrs longLiterally how can you stretch out such silly style for 40 fucking hours, I can't even imagine.
>>4092604Even more ai slop. Seriously, what kind of question it is?
>>4092723All the things I hear of Towelket makes me think it falls off super hard after the first 3 games.
>>4092974It doesn't. In fact a lot of the later games are leagues better than the first three but are hardly talked about for some reason
>>4092723Did you never play past 3? Later games still feel very "towelket" at their core (mostly because of how the characters are reused as actors with associated traits and all of that), but they're definitely not just as "quirky" as, say, towelket 3.>>4092974It picks up with the spin offs. Nekoashi Otome is closer in spirit to the first games in terms of humor and how it tugs your gut unexpectedly at times, but Laughing Warawau is probably the best game made by the author using the RM2k engine. Dekapari is also pretty neat. The other newer games are kind of shitty, but I definitely recommend playing at least these 3. If you liked 2 and 1, you will definitely find those games are on the same level or even above in terms of quality.
>>4093048At the end of the day, everyone is just sick of this japanese quirk chungus garbage. That is why your Slopket has no lasting legacy even compared against the simplest Western RPGM releases like Look Outside. It's pitiful that the Japanese can't come up with something even 10% as compelling despite their decades-long headstart.
>>4093052
Everytime Towelket is brought up in one of these threads all you retards say is "its good oh actually some are bad but play the good ones" and never elaborate beyond a screenshot of an anime girl saying "Fuck". I'm open to all kinds of things but the way this game's own fans feel the need to shove themselves into every conversation without actually saying anything of substance makes me think they couldn't even sell a severely dehydrated man a bottle of water.
>>4093104It's because the kind of "gamer" who plays Sludgeket isn't interested in playing a game at all. They'd be better served reading a webcomic or manga or literally anything besides a game. They want to "be part of the discussion" without actually having to put forth the bare minimum of effort to be part of it.
Real Towelheads rate 6 and 0 (I will not elaborate)
>>4093114See this is exactly what I'm talking about. Nobody in this thread knows what the fuck this means. You can't just keep spouting random bullshit whenever the topic of rpgmaker games come up and not expect people to find you retards extremely obnoxious
>>4093114Based. Keeping the normalfags filtered is a feature, not a bug.
>>4093052>>4093110You'd be a lot happier if you stopped thinking about rpgmaker.
>>4093048I tried to play Warawau and got bored to death, the plot is just schizo for schizo sake, the chars have zero charisma in contrast with the other entries, and the ending utterly shits the bed (pun intended) as it completely nullifies everything what happened prior to. Calling it the best rmk2 towelket is a very delusional take imo.
>>4093333You probably weren't really paying attention to anything that was going on but I have a feeling explaining this to you is a lost cause. There's plenty of substance there for those who actually want to engage with it instead of sitting around and waiting for a loli to get raped. Really its the only Towelket game I've actually liked
>>4093345I just hate "it was all a dream and none of it really happened lol" kind of stories, and I surely didn't expect such a cheap trick from towelket of all rpgmaker games.
I liked that unreleased Towelket game, that was super edgy and then there was that girl that forced to remove her womb, or something, started to spout transphobic stuff.
>>4093052>Muh Look OutsideShouldn't you be shilling "Welcome to Enderfield" as the current fotm troon-coded 'maker game thing?
>>4093491Iirc Fury was actually released, it's that it was deleted right away when the dev had a traditional japanese meltdown lol.
>>4092974What I don't understand is how Towelket 3 is consistently brought up as one of the good ones when its fucking terrible. It's just as meandering and obnoxious as Towelket 6. Both are impossible to enjoy unless you're really into pixelated loli rape. 4, Fury and 5 might not be as good as 2 and 1 but they easily clear Towelket 3 lol
>pixelated loli rapeThat's what every true 4channer should be into.
>>4093889It's even worse than 6 because 6 at least tries to deliver the usual towelket, meanwhile 3 presents absolutely zero shitshow.>>4093980There was rape? I only remember the pon licking the girl while she's been asleep.
Since this is as good a place as any to ask, does anyone have any of the old versions of the original Hat World, before the dev went back in and updated the art to match New Testament?
>>4093104I don't know what's up with people posting those screenshots, I believe the silly non sequitur stuff is the weakest part, the games are at their strongest when they're inflicting unspeakable suffering on robot girls
Dekapari is one of the best games in the series but most people haven't played it for whatever reason. It's about the rape victim in Towelket 2 realizing she was made to suffer and deciding to inflict suffering onto everyone else instead. The atmosphere is great and despite the silly synopsis, it actually plays its premise pretty straight. The philosophical aspects run much deeper here than it does in Towelket 1. Honestly its all the more emotionally devastating when you're dealing with characters that have a bit more depth than a puddle. The dev's improvement over the years cannot be overstated. Here everyone can have it for free lol: https://mega.nz/file/dQhj1DLA#Vfj_cXOF936cbGH54QO8Mq-Rrq5XbBEJKBg6uHKyx1k

>>4094465>>4094516Awesome, thanks. The old sprites are super jank so I get why they were changed, but it's very neat to see the evolution of Enu's style like this.
>>4094420>for whatever reasonLmao, the dev intentionally paylocked it behind a japanese online shop which makes it nearly impossible to buy for third worlders. The game however is really one of the better towelkets, for how silly the premise is it unexpectedly delivers a high rate existential horror. I only wish all the pseudo-convoluted lines with the cult were omitted as they barely add anything.
>>4094085>>4094516Is the old version of Hat World contain something that was cut from New Testament or it's just the art?
>>4078046Some of the best German maker games are:- Unterwegs in Düsterburg (the quintessential German RPG Maker game, and dare I say: RPG Maker game in general.)- Vampires Dawn 1 and 2 (as you've already figured out)- Games by real troll such as:-- Die Reise ins All-- Wolfenhain-- NachbarlichtOut of all these, Wolfenhain is probably the most complete, fun and balanced experience. One of the best games I've had the privilege to play. Its creator real troll is probably one of the best RPG Maker developers period. His writing is excellent and I'm saddened to see it be region locked.
I'm trying to remember the name of a game i played nearly 10 years agoIt was an RPG (probably made in RPGM or Wolf RPG, it def look like it) about an amnesiac knight wearing full armor waking up in a underground prison, i remember the first boss was sci-themed like another armored dude with a plasma rifle or something. After that you visit a castle and then some villages.

>>4093427Out of curiosity I tried the game myself to see what you were talking about, and I’m sorry anon but you totally missed the point. The ending isn’t supposed to be an actual conclusion to the game, it’s supposed to be something that recontextualizes everything that happens. Basically all of the crazy nonsense that happens in the game goes from meaningless garbage to something that actually makes sense. The ending isn’t a cheap trick, it’s the game telling you to look back at what happened previously and to try and make sense of things.Maybe it only feels obvious to me because I literally spoiled myself on your post, but if you thought the game was just a bunch of random schizo shit and then a “cheap trick” then you weren’t actually paying any attention to the story. The game literally has hints to what the ending is going to be like 5 minutes in and the writing refers to it so much that I’d argue that the ending scene could be removed entirely and you could figure it out through sheer inference.TL;DR: The ending is good. You just took everything way too literally and at face value
>>4093427I'm pretty sure the game is a manifestation of how the author feels about living with mental illness.Warawau has a lot of money, but it doesn't really matter since she has Pucchi preventing her from enjoying it. The Laughing World is a twisted version of her reality, and inside of it she finds herself in situations she can't see herself doing like making friends and getting married. The way I interpreted the ending was the Laughing World punishing her for believing she could ever escape her situatuion. Much like how a person can fall back into their old habits even after getting better for awhile. There's a message from the author at the end of the game IIRC that says something along the lines of "I cannot make games anymore, this might be the last one" but I don't seem to have a screenshot of it, so take that with a grain of salt.
>>4098222You’re sort of right about some parts, like the game being about things Warawau wants, and the Laughing World being a reflection of the normal world, but you got a bunch of stuff mixed up.The game is probably not about the Dev’s personal experiences with mental illnesses, nor does that message you’re talking about ever appear in the game.Warawau almost certainly isn’t rich because the mansion is part of the Laughing World, and the Laughing World isn’t an entity that’s punishing her but instead it’s her ability to keep herself sane breaking away overtime due to her physical (not mental) illness. Everything that happens in the game is a result of what happened between her young childhood to the ending of the game, and pretty much every aspect of the Laughing World is a mix of Warawau’s desires/imagination and what Pucchi did to her over the years, which is what the game is trying to subtly tell you about. The fate of Warawau’s future isn’t told to you but the game actually seems to sort of lean towards something hopefully.
>>4098241>The game is probably not about the Dev’s personal experiences with mental illnesses, nor does that message you’re talking about ever appear in the game.I swear something like that appeared at the end of the english version, or something along those lines did. Maybe it was from Warawau's perspective and I misinterpreted it. I'll replay the game and show what I mean later. It's definitely not 1:1 with struggling with mental illness, but there are enough similarities to make me raise an eyebrow given the context of the dev allegedly having schizophrenia.>>4098241>Laughing World isn’t an entity that’s punishing her but instead it’s her ability to keep herself saneThe Chrysalis Maiden and Orchuma shit came across that way. The fact that Nyanyamo is playable towards the end makes me think the whole thing was a demonic entity fucking with Warawau. If the game was entirely from her perspective, I'd see your point. But Nyanyamo falling off at the end there makes me think the whole thing was a curse put upon Warawau, metaphorical of her condition rather than it just being entirely in her head.
>>4098206>I’d argue that the ending scene could be removed entirely and you could figure it out through sheer inference. It'd make for good theorybait. I found the game hinted enough that the only real question before the reveal was what illness it was.
>>4086775You still can find cute girls in westerner games but it's exclusively indieslop now. Probably going to end up happening for japs too, with the growing BlackRock influence and stuff like that.
>>4096361Yeah i'm gonna have to live with this tiny-ass unknown game in the back of my mind for the rest of my life
>>4098241The message was "Regarding the stories I produce... My rusting body has become strange and such a thing is no longer possible. My thoughts, too, have become clouded."You could take this at face value of only Warawau saying this, but given the context of how Kanao has treated his work in the past, and with Laughing Warawau's release being after the whole thing with Towelket 5, Fury, and Towelket 5 (again), it makes the game seem parallel to the author's struggles. This is the same guy who's ended multiple games with "This sucked." and has posted about hearing voices. It's pretty easy to connect that quote to Kanao, especially since it's at the end of the game.
>>4098222While I don't really subscribe to this theory myself, I have always wondered if some of the wilder imagery in that game was based on the creator's own experiences. Specifically the overlays and little gross creatures constantly sprinting across the screen in certain areas. Perhaps it just meant to invoke a feeling of disgust and disorientation but from what little I know about visual schizophrenic hallucinations, stuff like that is much more accurate to the average hallucination than demons telling you to kill your entire family or whatever

>>4094420>rape victim in Towelket 2Lol she's more than just rape victim in 2, she's basically the dev's teddy bear for venting. She's being raped/killed/mutated /cloned/cucked in almost every entry. In this regard Dekapari feels more like a cursed homage to Madoka, where she got tired to suffer for everyone's sins and decided to make everyone suffer instead.

>>4102565I know but if I were to list every single relevant instance of her character throughout the series absolutely fucking no one would try out this game lol
>>4102818>source: my ass
Any 'maker games in srpg genre?
>>4102565I guess that explains the bear ears.
>>4103204I always thought they were tiddies
>>4103333>>4103204actually it's her not-vampire form
>>4102803The ending, and the entire anime, is overrated garbage anyway.I have more respect for Pierrot slop like Creamy Mami or Persia than I do for Madoka. Earnestness trumps deconstruction and subversion every single time. You'll understand someday once you're out of your Coldsteel the Hedgehog phase of life.
>>4105391Once you're out of your contrarian phase you'll understand that just because something is popular does not mean it is bad.The best "deconstructions" are actually very earnest in their love of the genre by the way.
>>4103192World Piece & Peace
>>4103192SRW-likes barely qualify as SRPGs on the best of days, but sure.
>>4105391Madoka isn't a deconstruction lmao, it's a straightforward character drama, the goal of the show was never to make a statement about the genre. Madoka is a show that takes itself and its characters emotions very seriously and that's what makes it good.
>>4105763>Madoka isn't a deconstruction lmaot.retard who has only seen one anime in his entire life, Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
>>4105778Now the funny thing is that it's always the people who've barely gone past the surface who call Madoka a deconstruction. In truth, it has more in common with the writer's favorite season of Kamen Rider than anything but you probably don't even know what tokusatsu means.
