A new RPG has been revealed to us, which features a twist. The game focuses completely on the character and roleplaying experience of a Warlock, instead of dilluting their focus and allowing you to play as any class. The gameplay trailer revealed:>your patron (pic related)>a MC (not sure if you can only play as her)>various combat and utility spells for puzzle solving>possibly a town with NPCsI am cautiously excited for this. Mostly because the Patron is doing ASMR style whispering during gameplay and is kinda hot and already very dominating with barely any boundaries

>>4070343>log-in to verify your ageThanks!Do you play as a girlboss mc?
>>4070342I don't know, something about the trailer bother me but I might just give it a try for the warlock stuff. Is there another game where picking a warlock have you deal with the patrons? I know about BG3 but you need to play Will
>>4070342>WotCtrash
>>4070342I like what i´ve seen so far. The art style looks pretty good and the warlock herself seems to have plenty of utility spells to interact with the world in creative ways rather than just combat spells.
They're calling it an action-adventure, not an RPG.
>>4070391It's basically an RPG with just a single character class, like I explained in the OP. But it's fine to call it that too, as long as you don't want to get my thread removed from /vrpg/.
>>4070342I hope it's not some open world slop, I don't like DnD much anyway, but if it has some fun action and sexy sorceresses then it might be ok.
looked like shit, imo
>A new RPGThat's an action adventure game.Is Tomb Raider an RPG now because it "focuses completely on the character and roleplaying experience of a tomb raider, instead of dilluting their focus and allowing you to play as any class"?Do you understand what a roleplaying game is?
>>4070419This game will probably be bad because it's nu-DnD, but that said, nothing about "the main character is locked to a specific character class" inherently invalidates a game from being an RPG.
>>4070430An ACTION ADVENTURE game is not and never will be an RPG, retard. The entire mental gymnastic about being "locked to one class" is just the icing on retard cake for a whole other list of reasons.Do you think Dragon's Dogma is an RPG because there's a bunch of classes?
>>4070441Not interested in arguing with an unpleasant moron about a game I don't care about and haven't heard of before this morning. Last (you).>Do you think Dragon's Dogma is an RPGYes.>because there's a bunch of classes? No.
>>4070395https://store.steampowered.com/app/3714800/Warlock_Dungeons__Dragons/>All Games > Action Games > Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons>Genre: Action, Adventure>Watch the gameplay reveal for Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons, a third-person, single-player action-adventure set in a dark fantasy open world inspired by D&D.Where's the RPG part? It's an action that uses the Dungeons and Dragons setting, none of the rules.
>>4070342>action game where you play as a foidSomehow another one, huh?
>>4070442So you don't know what a roleplaying game is.Good.
>>4070342Looks like woke trash to me
>>4070342>ASMR you say!? Oh my TikTok! Take all my updoots!...>>4070468>PnP rules are too hard for the modern corposlop designer to implement so we get another one of these style and no substance titles>like a bad D&D movie, talking about magic missiles and fireballs is only high tier art to a certain reddit mentality>>4070482Yeah we've def. been here before. At least in the 90s things like Dark Alliance were actually good though because woke wasn't a thing then.
>>4070342I saw the premise and thought>Huh we don't have many of thoseLooks at the gameplay>AAA Slopa>Action combat with loose warlock theme>Game dev(il) on your shoulder telling you what to do every 5 seconds>Fantasy.mp4Does it have any redeeming qualities, I just can't not resent those games.
>>4070528Explain to me exactly what makes the game woke. Give me concrete examples, not vibes. What is woke?>>4071153>Does it have any redeeming qualities, I just can't not resent those games.Depends. Do you think the Patron is hot?
>>4071167Patron is hot? Well yes, I will grant that's something. It this a reason to play the game? Probably not.Is it a reason to visit rule 34? Maybe.
>>4071174You talk like an LLM.
>>4071186It's LLM's that talk like me. Where do you think they learned to do that?I will keep that in mind, I like to larp as one from time to time, maybe it fried my brain.
>>4070345>need to play WyllWell, to see your patron in person. Great Old One and Archfey warlocks have the most instances of your patron "getting involved" but it's all through narrator dialogue. I'm still mad the game had us go to Shadowfell and not only do hexblades have zero unique dialogue, but Halsin never calls us out on it.I'd love a DND game where you would actually have to discover how to form a patron contract in-game: stumble across an ancient tome that contains the GOO's real name, find a genie's lamp, some event during the prologue where a devil or some other being bails you out of trouble.
Foid MC is a no go
>>4070342No chance. WoTC is the AppleTV of tabletop RPG studios. Gay and lame, one million percent chance.
