The Secret Level episode about Exodus explicitly mentions Lidon as a frontier world inhabited by first-generation Arkship inhabitants (that's also where the redhead companion is from) and I vaguely recall some part of the book mentioning the Malakbel star system, where Lidon is in. The books really needed a map showing the locations of star systems and what Dominion owns it, cause at some point all those places start sounding interchangeable. Czech publishers of the books even had to made a map of their own if I'm not mistaken.

You CAN infer what the overall quality of writing will be like based on the stuff its director(s) and writer(s) worked on as well as looking at the gameplay previews. With all that being said, Exodus as a setting has fantastic storytelling potential, unlike Osiris Reborn which has to fit into the overarching plot that is played out in the books/series.

He certainly had all of the necessary info for worldbuilding (i.e. the general history of the cluster, locations, technology ect) but was likely told only to vaguely mention Lidon since that moon and whatever other random locations outside of Celestial domains were reserved for the game. Another interesting thing to note is the discrepancy between Hamilton's descriptions of spaceships and how they appeared in Exodus trailers or in the Secret Level episode. I'd say that indicates that Hamilton didn't have a complete insight into how the ships would look and function, so he actually made them more realistic that they were presented in the media.

Like, if you're gonna spend pages describing the geography and architecture of Kelowan, or talk about the dynamics of gangs in Santa Rosa and what robots Terrence used to eavesdrop on their members, at least spend a page or two describing how the three Eternal queens (and all of their companions) got slimed by the Crystal Gun and how that mentally affected Terrence and his family. Hell, the rushed ending also can't explain the character assassination Thyra experienced. In the epilogue, she was transformed into some sort of a harsh-but-just ruler of the Celestial Dominion when barely a hundred pages prior, she was considering how often does she need to brain-fuck her own daughters and Court members to make sure they stay loyal. She was interesting precisely because she was so unscrupulous yet pragmatic and clear-minded when push came to shove.
